    • @CambridgeCarAudio
      @CambridgeCarAudio  2 роки тому +1

      @@muffindell the wattage of the factory sub doesn’t matter as we are only using it for signal input. The new amp in the sub deals with the rest. We voltage check units and outputs to measure where the gain levels should be set to ensure optimum and efficiency of the sub and amp

    • @SlyFoxHowlsWolf
      @SlyFoxHowlsWolf Рік тому

      @@CambridgeCarAudio I get your question @Matthew. @Cambridge, most all amps, built in to subs or stand alone, have a max input wattage to their high-level / speaker-line inputs before burning out the circuitry. This typically maxes out around 40 watts.
      From Audison: "Connect the high level inputs using the proper plug. Applied signal must be between 1 V RMS and 22 V RMS. Don’t use it if you are already using Pre In preamplified connection."
      Note their range for high-level inputs and recommendation to not use in scenarios such as this install where the sub-line-level is amped to 70+ watts. Unless you use a High to RCA converter which can handle that wattage, the installed sub's amp will burn out early and not be covered by its warranty.

    that sub is going nowhere without the velcro ... it's heavy ... anyway ... it's kicking strong because is a coupe car, if it where a sedan ... it will lose some basse ... and i think in the doors are 8 inch speakers ? and u put a 6.5 inch ... for more middle and voice ... i think if u chose an 8 inch it will sound difrently ... sory if i write wrong i'm from roumania :D anyway nice videos ... about the bmw ... i think is a good platform for sound mainiacs ... if u put some audison or focal or hertz and 80w or 60w rms of amplification on the midds and arround 200 w rms per subs ... the only donwside is that the bmw has a 4 inch mid speaker witch is a good speaker for voice but not so great for midds ... :(

    I have to admit I was underwhelmed with the B&O stock system in my S5. Seems like the system is fine but the speakers they used aren't at all the premium level you'd expect from an upgraded sound system in a 70k+ car.
    So I'll be upgrading most of the speakers in my car in the coming months.
