    When you said you would get around to it, you reminded me of a shore engineer at the shipping company where I worked. When discussing maintenance items with a chief engineer from a ship, if the answer was I will get around to it, he pointed to this round piece of metal with the letters TUIT burned on top of it. He would then say that he has a round to it and he did not need any more. Very smart man.

    • @paulvanhouts3365
      @paulvanhouts3365 20 днів тому +1

      I saw a round TUIT years ago, a friend who was a mechanic had one in his pocket, along with a square one with a hole in the middle which had NOT A ROUND TUIT stamped. I would ask if he could do a job, hands dived into his pocket and out would come one, the square was not today. What a character.

    43:25 do it on the car using hydraulic pressure from the master. Remove the pads first and the rotor will keep the pistons from escaping. Then hang the caliper away from the rotor to finish the job.

    You are so versatile , you switch from one build to another and never miss a beat . I guess that's what makes you a master mechanic . You know every nut and bolt by sight and pull the sockets from the tool box and keep the beat like an orchestra conductor , Its such a pleasure to watch , I thank you for having us along , Stuart in Ontario ..

    Ar the happy days of doing Jag brakes . Two tire levers to force the pistons back in the calipers and half hour with a file and wire brush to make sure pads would move freely (even had to grind a bit of the pads sometimes) .

    My grandmother won a 54 chevy at a grocery store grand opening it was brown with a cream white top it had cloth pin stripe interior it never did spend the night outside always garage kept. When she sold it in 1985 it only had 32.000 miles on it it had zero rust and the only thing that was not original was the tires the first set dry rotted and the points plugs and wires also the bottom of the driver's seat was recovered because my aunt spilled a baby bottle of milk and the foam started to rot. It had the coolest dash in it I love how the ash tray was kind of hidden

    You should do what I saw at one garage. The guy had built a box around his air compressor to cut down on the noise and made it easier to hear people talking.It was a simple three wall box with a door and a roof with a 3" gap at the bottom of the door for air to get in & was made up of 2x4s & drywall, he didn't even mud the drywall or paint it.He did say it cut down on how often he cleaned the filters though.

    Brent, to get the pistons out of the calipers re connect it to the car and pump the brake pedal. never fails. just be ready for the big mess. You need to do them evenly though or you will not get all the pistons out.

    Les pistons coincés dans l'étrier, pour les sortir, il faut remonter l'étrier sur le circuit de freinage, sans les plaquettes, purger le circuit et freiner en mettant des cales de plus en plus petites entre les quatre pistons pour qu'ils sortent tous en même temps. C'est sûr que ça sort comme ça.
