Halely was fortunate she didn't win. The Idol contract is a beast. Kelly Clarkson won in 2002 and was finally released from her contract in 2017! She was on Graham Norton's show when she mentioned it and the gasps of horror from Jason Momoa, Hugh Grant and Graham were epic.
Oh no! What a horrible multimillion dollar nightmare she would totally sign up for a thousand more times.

And having regrets about certain obligations doesn't mean they were naive or deceived or misinformed or whatever your theory is. If "real talent" doesn't need it, then "real talent" won't look to a vapid TV show in order to get their big break.
Krieger was pleasingly jazzy, the keyboard lad was sublime, the bassist and drummer punched it out nicely, and as for Haley, she started out sweet and ended like a volcano.

Robbie is a great player and I think probably under rated. Haley is always wonderful and I love her respect for some of the music I grew up with like this. And dam that keyboardist is doing a fine job as well. Just a wonderful version.
That She has not gone main stream radio gaga is a blessing.
She plays with artists and legends. She isn't a rock star,she is a keeper of rock and soul. A musician.
I imagine in 10 to 20 years the majority of the old legends will have passed on. I hope she gets to perform with as many of them as possible. Newer generations really need this bridge.
I also look forward to her being in a band with Casey Abrams,Morgan James and some of their night club cronies.

Dad was in his glory at the Troubadour playing alongside Robby Krieger & His Daughter. Only thing greater might have been playing "What Is & What Should Never Be" on the American Idol Stage in front of millions on TV with his top 3 Daughter that his love and pride for shows clearly.

I think it*s the best thing happened to her, that she didn't win. She has built her own carrier, and is an artist that is way better than what comes out of American idol. Besides, how many of the winners during the years have you heard of since?
I watched idol one year and a girl named Fantasia won, and I was glad she was a single mom, and probably needed the money...but they sent Jennifer Hudson home who was OBVIOUSLY the better singer. I think it was because she was a big girl. Last time I saw her she wasn't big, though.
I thought she was best of the final 3, but I didn't vote for her that week. I was too pissed off at her father.

Nice job on this. It does help to have Robbie on stage. It gives it a bit more weight. Robbie still likes to play way outside occasionally.
I remember seeing the Doors play this live at the Allen (sp?) Theater in Feb. 1970.
I was 30 rows back and they still rank as one of the best-sounding live bands I have ever heard.
Up there with the original Chicago (CTA), Glass Harp, the Chylds, etc .....

With respect for Krieger, The Doors, and the wonderful Haley Reinhart this feels like a gimick. I'd love to see this show, just walking into a club here in Cincy, but as a YT rec. it falls short despite the strong finish.

Wonder if she covered any other Doors stuff that night. Maybe "Crystal Ship", "20th Century Fox", or "Riders on the Storm" would have been nice. Notice everybody in the crowd recording this on their smartphones. Just enjoy the music in the moment folks. It will end up on UA-cam eventually anyway, with better video quality and acoustics.
