Efren is such a sweet and humble man. His equipment compared to other pros make him seem like an amateur but he's the worlds best pool player. There's a lot to be said for that! It might be that he comes from a less privileged background and learned to get by with what he can get, and appreciate what he has. A true sportsman of the game and will be sorely missed now that he has retired.

Efren knows so much about pool and he is a smart man, why would the powers that be want to limit what he can communicate to us by having him speak in a language that is not his first language? When someone as great as Efren is speaking, there should always be a translator to maximize what he's willing to share with us. Why tie his hands? He is certainly worthy of a translator!!!

@TheTrojanrazon excellent points, i agree with you 100%. however, english is the global second language. it is more beneficial for a filipino or chinese person to speak english than it is for an english speaking person to learn kapampangan.

the brand of cue does not matter. it's the pool knowledge that Efren brings wherever he goes. knowledge that only efren have. he is humble. and doesn't talk too much. he lets his skill speak for him. maybe his english is not that good. but i'll bet my Z3 if any of your favorite american pool player could speak pilipino and kapampangan fluently... in pool, knowledge of the game is essential. not the language you speak. and FYI, english is not the language that most people speak. it's chinese.
