    10:02 - The Verdict
    Mystery Ranch is known for making some of the most durable packs on the market, so when we saw their packable daypack we just had to try it out. We also had a sneaking suspicion that they might have a few tricks up their sleeve with this pack... Well, let’s just say we weren’t wrong…
    This pack is built for durability and is designed to be carried on short trips around the city or on the hiking trail-perfect for those times when you want to leave your main pack at the hostel or hotel and travel light.
    The well thought out harness system and durable materials used-including YKK zippers, CORDURA mini ripstop fabric and Duraflex buckles-all come together to create a really solid, comfortable daypack. Arguably, because of the extra features and durability, it's not even a daypack at all. More like a “packable backpack”! If you're looking for a durable, packable daypack and don’t care too much about the packability and weight, the Mystery Ranch In and Out could be the perfect choice for you.

    I like how you actually USE the packs for extended periods of time, vs others who simply review the bag as soon as it arrives. Thank you for taking the time to test!

      Absolutely - we learn so much through actual usage and catch things that we wouldn't have if we simply unboxed and reviewed!

    I just bought this and it's really nice. Thanks for your review. Probably going to pack flat on my next trip as opposed to rolling up in itself, but kind of a cool feature. Love the pockets on this thing, very comfortable to wear. Yes, it's heavier, but if this is the pack you are using every day on your trip, don't you want to be comfortable? Chose this over the tortuga setout daypack, matador, osprey, etc. But I also like to hike and plan to take this into the woods too. The black is nice. Huckleberry offers nice discounts on this and other packs too.

      Hey Funkbutterfly - glad you've been able to find a bag that works so well for you. This is a great pack and we hope you have many great adventures with it. Happy travels! 😊👍

    Hey man, I really like the look of the backpack on the wall. The blue dark ( the right side, middle one ) top loading bag with a big webbing on the middle. Have you review that one?

    This MR packable daypack is pretty similar to the Matador Beast 28 packable daypack...will be interesting to compare both side-by-side

      Totally 22ple Pte. Ltd. - we're working on getting some comparisons together! The Matador Beast28 fits about 9 more liters than the Mystery Ranch In and Out. But they both have some great features. 👍

    I couldn't resist and got one off the Huckberry Mystery Ranch sale after missing it the first time. Love this pack. I realized I needed something with a few more attachment points after using the (still excellent) REI pcakable daypack (can't find the link). Thanks for your review!

    Ozark trail Corsicana 20 liters at Walmart sells for under $10. Basically the same at 1/7 the price. Less sturdy no doubt. One pocket outside. Sternum strap and just a drawstring up top with a clip and strap. Emergency bags

      Pack Hacker you see I saw it in the store. Then I looked up online. Then I investigated my options. I have felt the Corsicana but the in out will need to be ordered if I wish to go that far. I need an overflow bag when food shopping on my bike. I have a Nike bag with rope pull cords that double as shoulder straps now but, it’s around half the size but, a sturdy bag

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  5 років тому

      Hey shadowdance4666 - it definitely depends on your use case for sure! Materials, craftsmanship hardware and zippers are important features to check when deciding on a pack. You can check out this link here packhacker.com/about/rating-system/ which goes through our reviewing system and standards. Hope this helps! 👍

    Looks like if its not fully packed and you set it down, it will just not hold its structure and drop like a sack of potatoes.

    First, I’m a fan of Mystery Ranch and you. But, either you are huge, or that pack is tiny. It looks ridiculous on you.

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  6 років тому

      Hey JKC - Tom here. Thanks for stopping by. Packable Daypacks are typically smaller (meant to be packed away in a larger bag and used at your destination). Is there a particular packable daypack you use or like that's larger but still compresses small? We're always up for testing new gear!

    • @jackchn23
      @jackchn23 6 років тому +1

      Pack Hacker - I actually use an old ToughTraveler backpack that has survived since my college days. That thing must be thirty years old. The pack doesn’t have any structure so just I roll it up and put it in my carry on. The company is located in Schenectady, NY. and they make all their stuff here in the U.S. If remember correctly, one of my friends mom used to work there and she said they made a custom guitar bag for Bruce Springsteen! Check them out!
