Can you use this card-method to make Mortgage Payments?
@@JohnPaul-ol5zl not right now but they’re in talks of trying to mortgage payments!
Hi Phil. is the debit bank connection only if your paying rent by check.?
@Phillpak When opt to pay rent with a check and selected Built protect, when does the money from your personal check get taken out?
When you select that feature or when your landlord cashes the rent check?
For me, it gets taken out 1-2 Business Days after I paid my rent! Regardless of whether or not the cashed in the check. If your landlord takes a long time to cash in the check, they'll email you and tell you that you have the option to void the check and the balance gets reversed!
If i pay on the rental portak with the bilt card useing bilt protect do i still have to pay the 3% fee my landlord charges?
Free trips for paying rent yayyyyy
You mentioned a physical card can take up to a couple of weeks. Do you know how long an online payment/ACH takes to get to the landlord (not in the Bilt association)? Is it instant?
So when I pay through online payment/ACH it goes pretty much instantly to my landlord. At most 1-2 business days. But it does take 3-4 business days to show up on your statement
If you use BILT protect though it doesn’t even go on your statement just fyi
@@Phillpak Thanks so much!
@Phillpak you said you have 4 accounts. One for each property. How do you get multiple accounts ? Can your provide the details plz? I have 2 rents that I need to pay and I just got flagged for using the card. I can’t find any information online on what needs to be done ? TIA
Hey! Yeah so I just get my family members to open an account. Each account pays for each of the rents I have. You can also link an airline to more than one account so they all transfer to my Cathay Pacific acc for example!
Can you pay rent with BILT to landlords personal bank account??
You can’t do their personal bank account but now BILT lets you connect your “checking and routing” to your Venmo so you can just Venmo your landlord now and they can transfer to their accounts!!
What if you change the address that you’re trying to pay?
What if my rent payment is in person with a physical card? or via phone with the cards credentials?
If you do phone is there a possibility to give checking/routing number instead? That would definitely work because BILT gives you a checking/routing number to use. If you use your physical card then you'll just get charged as a normal credit card so you'll still have to pay that 3-4% fee.
Hey Phillip do you know if debit protect works if I chose the pay online option? Or will it charge it to the credit card balance?
As long as you toggle it on, Biltprotect debit will work regardless of whether or not you used check or online!
@@Phillpak Thanks man!
May I ask how you use it for business? I have to pay rent for a business. Can I use this card to pay? Thank you!
I just do it like I normally would for a home. I called and they said I can’t do that but they’ve never once flagged me for it! LOL
Does the 4 more swipes have to be before rent is due or just within the month?
4 more transactions before the statement is generated
He said a house?? Bilt can pay Mortgages now?
🔥🔥🔥
I just got the card and want to start with April 1st in payment rent. What's missing in BILT's FAQs regarding setting up rent payments is how does it link to your landlord. I've set up BILTProtect and the routing/account number option. Where do we add in our landlord's info? I just can't visualize how it will get to her. 🙂 Does anyone know how that part works? Thanks!
So go to your “pay rent” tab. It’ll ask you questions like what’s your rent amount, then fill out the check information like you always would, then it’ll ask you “where do you want to send it to?” You can then put your landlords address and it’ll go to them in 5-7 days.
@@Phillpak Thank you! But is that for sending a check? It's too late for that for April. I want to use the BILTProtect feature. :)
@@Phillpak A chatted with BILT. I was told, in my case, I should enter the BILT Rent Rewards Account information (the routing/accounting # will show) into Venmo as a bank. Venmo's Plaid platform will verify it as a bank (I had to type in BILT and it appeared) and Viola! I wanted to be able to use the BILTProtect feature as to not use my credit limit. It's ok because I will pay it the next day. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post/question. 🙂
Can I use Zelle with this card? For rent
Nope! But you can use Venmo!
Can you use this to pay business rent?
I called and they said no but hey I got 2 business rents and I use it all the time. Just gotta keep it on the down low haha
If Im living with my parents, and I do pay rent can I use this to give them a check?
Just pay them cash
My friend does this. His parents mortgage is $4,500 and he just pays his parents "rent" and sends his "landlords" his rent payment so it does kind of work! LOL
So paying rent is basically free as long as u use points right?
There is no surcharge if you use the Bilt card or BiltProtect. My suggestion - Don't use your points towards rent payment. Horrible value for your points.
Why TF would anyone transfer to AA?
Would you still recommend non-renters to get this card ? I currently own most of the popular stables (amex gold, venture x, etc.), but I do not pay rent
I definitely wouldn’t if you have those cards already lol. Mainly people get them to not pay a convenience fee when paying rent with a credit card.
I'd say to probably pass if you don't really pay rent. That's really the main benefit. AMEX Gold has 4x on dining which is better than the 3x on Dining that BILT has so def just stick to those cards if you don't pay rent!
The card is still worth it if you are a foodie and wanna take advantage of the bilt dining program which is brand new and growing fast! But not being able to do the rental part does stink!
i thought bilt was a credit card? if you’re paying rent using ACH (acct/routing numbers) it would take it from a bank account not add a balance to a credit card. am i missing something? this seems like a debit card that gives cashback on rent rather than a credit card
From what I gather, this is for if your credit limit is lower then your rent payment. So, if your credit limit is 1,000, and your rent is 1,500, it would use money from your bank account to cover it, instead of canceling it because you went over your credit limit.
A debit card, you have to add money to it first before you can use it, you don't have to load the BILT card before you do. If you wanted to, you could just use it like any other credit card and never use it for rent, but that would defeat the purpose.
They have a special feature I believe called bilt protect you just toggle it on or off which allows your auto ach payments to go directly to your linked bank setup instead of show up as a credit purchase. It will still give you points and show up on your credit card adjustments judt not use your “limit”
So if your credit limit is 1000and your rent is 1500 Bilt will take the difference ($500) from your bank account.
I'm confused what I'm trying to avoid is having a check mailed to my landlord because we're currently set up to the bank where I just send it through zelle why would I want to do this other than get the points but my landlord isn't going to go for this because he gets paid instantly and most of the time he's not even in this state so it doesn't want to check going to his home address or his PO box so it sounds like this is not an option for me ...? 😢
We love the BILT card!!
It's taking us to paris this year hahaha
The check last two weeks to arrive? So if I pay the rent in 1st the physical check arrives two weeks after?
So from my experience it takes around 9 days for the check to arrive to your landlord but if you pay through a portal it’s pretty immediate
I have two different resident portals. Each time I pay with my bank account and routing number from BILT, it goes almost immediately to them.
@@Phillpakcan you use this card to make Mortgage Payments??
@@JohnPaul-ol5zl unfortunately right now they don’t do mortgage payments
wait i thought you can’t use this card to pay business rent…
You can’t but I’ve just been doing it because I want the points. It’s been a year and a half but they haven’t said anything yet!
