    @Phillpak When opt to pay rent with a check and selected Built protect, when does the money from your personal check get taken out?
    When you select that feature or when your landlord cashes the rent check?

    • @Phillpak
      @Phillpak  4 місяці тому

      For me, it gets taken out 1-2 Business Days after I paid my rent! Regardless of whether or not the cashed in the check. If your landlord takes a long time to cash in the check, they'll email you and tell you that you have the option to void the check and the balance gets reversed!

    You mentioned a physical card can take up to a couple of weeks. Do you know how long an online payment/ACH takes to get to the landlord (not in the Bilt association)? Is it instant?

    • @Phillpak
      @Phillpak  10 місяців тому +1

      So when I pay through online payment/ACH it goes pretty much instantly to my landlord. At most 1-2 business days. But it does take 3-4 business days to show up on your statement

      Hey! Yeah so I just get my family members to open an account. Each account pays for each of the rents I have. You can also link an airline to more than one account so they all transfer to my Cathay Pacific acc for example!

      You can’t do their personal bank account but now BILT lets you connect your “checking and routing” to your Venmo so you can just Venmo your landlord now and they can transfer to their accounts!!

    What if my rent payment is in person with a physical card? or via phone with the cards credentials?

    • @Phillpak
      @Phillpak  4 місяці тому +1

      If you do phone is there a possibility to give checking/routing number instead? That would definitely work because BILT gives you a checking/routing number to use. If you use your physical card then you'll just get charged as a normal credit card so you'll still have to pay that 3-4% fee.

    I just got the card and want to start with April 1st in payment rent. What's missing in BILT's FAQs regarding setting up rent payments is how does it link to your landlord. I've set up BILTProtect and the routing/account number option. Where do we add in our landlord's info? I just can't visualize how it will get to her. 🙂 Does anyone know how that part works? Thanks!

    • @Phillpak
      @Phillpak  2 місяці тому +1

      So go to your “pay rent” tab. It’ll ask you questions like what’s your rent amount, then fill out the check information like you always would, then it’ll ask you “where do you want to send it to?” You can then put your landlords address and it’ll go to them in 5-7 days.

    • @MsLkane
      @MsLkane 2 місяці тому

      @@Phillpak A chatted with BILT. I was told, in my case, I should enter the BILT Rent Rewards Account information (the routing/accounting # will show) into Venmo as a bank. Venmo's Plaid platform will verify it as a bank (I had to type in BILT and it appeared) and Viola! I wanted to be able to use the BILTProtect feature as to not use my credit limit. It's ok because I will pay it the next day. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post/question. 🙂

    • @Phillpak
      @Phillpak  4 місяці тому

      I'd say to probably pass if you don't really pay rent. That's really the main benefit. AMEX Gold has 4x on dining which is better than the 3x on Dining that BILT has so def just stick to those cards if you don't pay rent!

    i thought bilt was a credit card? if you’re paying rent using ACH (acct/routing numbers) it would take it from a bank account not add a balance to a credit card. am i missing something? this seems like a debit card that gives cashback on rent rather than a credit card

    • @austinsmith6632
      @austinsmith6632 3 місяці тому

      From what I gather, this is for if your credit limit is lower then your rent payment. So, if your credit limit is 1,000, and your rent is 1,500, it would use money from your bank account to cover it, instead of canceling it because you went over your credit limit.
      A debit card, you have to add money to it first before you can use it, you don't have to load the BILT card before you do. If you wanted to, you could just use it like any other credit card and never use it for rent, but that would defeat the purpose.

    • @nycste1982
      @nycste1982 2 місяці тому

      They have a special feature I believe called bilt protect you just toggle it on or off which allows your auto ach payments to go directly to your linked bank setup instead of show up as a credit purchase. It will still give you points and show up on your credit card adjustments judt not use your “limit”

    • @ariesbx
      @ariesbx 2 місяці тому

      So if your credit limit is 1000and your rent is 1500 Bilt will take the difference ($500) from your bank account.

      I'm confused what I'm trying to avoid is having a check mailed to my landlord because we're currently set up to the bank where I just send it through zelle why would I want to do this other than get the points but my landlord isn't going to go for this because he gets paid instantly and most of the time he's not even in this state so it doesn't want to check going to his home address or his PO box so it sounds like this is not an option for me ...? 😢
