Oral micronised Progesterone provided the best sleep for the first week and half then i was back to poor nights sleep. It also constipated me (terribly) even at 100mg. As soon as i stopped i was regular again and able to sleep with supplement again. I am taking a progestin now that doesnt cause constipation but it doesnt help the sleep and i would love to be on the natural version. What is the lowest does of micronized Progesterone allowed to be given with Estrogen (to protect uterus)?
Dr Briden, I’ve been enjoying your podcast & books and thankful for you! I’m 39 and been paleo, eating clean and dairy-soy-gluten-sugar free for years and still get my period around day 19 despite being on 50mcg levothyroxine daily and 100mg progesterone days 15 to 19 until my period starts. My periods are light but result in great fatigue during the month. I’ve been reading about eating pro-metabolic with foods that better nourish and fuel glycogen and calm the body like homemade organic kamut sourdough bread, increasing starches like potatoes and root veggies, raw organic dairy, and using more fresh fruit honey and maple syrup instead of stevia etc. I want to get off my thyroid and progesterone meds and have a cycle that’s past 20 days. I had four kids in 3.5 years and built our own home etc so I believe my last decade was all fueled on cortisol though my mom and sister both have hashimotos and Lyme which I don’t think I have. What would you suggest? Im extremely self disciplined and I’ll do anything I know will help heal me. Thank you again for your book and being such a blessing to our world!
I wonder whether Dr. Berg's suggestion for PMDD would help with your feeling fatigued. I think you would start his regimen 2 weeks before your menstrual cycle. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try.
@@aspegel5281 hello, so kind of you to reply to my comment. Wow, I wrote that one year ago. It’s interesting to look back on this. Actually did test for Lyme disease a few months ago and scored positive! This is such a relief, especially as I’ve been having joint pain the past year. It answers so many questions now. Now I’m treating my Lyme disease and hopefully everything should really benefit from that since it’s the overarching umbrella over most of my symptoms. There needs to be so much more awareness about chronic Lyme disease 🙏. Thank you again for your kindness. I hope this can help someone else too!
I'm 51, perimenopause, I'm using oral utrogestan micronized progesterone, I don't know it helps me, because I'm still suffering anxiety disorder 😭 and allergic rhinitis, gas, bloated, stomach cramps, I'm easy get stress, I always felt my cortisol is high. 😢😭 Cannot go back anymore to my work, I cannot travel alone, because my condition not stable anymore, I want my life back. Don't know how, all I can do is pray. 😭😭😭😭 From the Philippines
Watch Dr Garrett Smith videos, they're very interesting. His Lactoferrin is very helpful. I'm 61 and breezed through menopause with an occasional warm flash. It sounds like your body is very toxic. I can still lift the same weights I did in my 20s, roller blade, play tennis, ride my bike for miles and pretty much do what I did in my 20s. He feels that most problems is from liver toxicity, and nutritional deficiencies especially minerals. I really wouldn't mess around with my hormones because that could end badly. About 12 years ago I listen to someone on UA-cam who claimed all you needed was "natural progesterone" and I ended up with two gaint cyst one in each breast. I knew a holistic pharmacist who told me to take 12.5 mg of Terry naturally iodine and they went away in about two weeks. Be very careful who you trust with your health because the road to hell is filled with good intentions, some you may never recover from 🤔
@@LaraBriden Dr. Lara, I dont know how get that manual about hormone repair , I'm here in the Philippines 😭 I'm 2years suffering rhinitis and anxiety brething problem. I eat healthy food', low carb diet, but Im still suffering rhinitis, antihistamine tablet not effective anymore. Rhinitis gives me anxiety and cortisol high, no doctor here can help me. They always saying take a antidepperesant pill. One of my friend postmeno , told me antideppresant cannot help her. Much better to take micronized progesterone for anxiety.
Could you provide your opinion on suppository (rectal) progesterone? I have read that rectal progesterone is better absorbed. Levels of progesterone are higher and stay higher for longer than with oral progesterone. Most of the progesterone ingested orally is broken down by the liver. This by-passes the breakdown of progesterone by the liver. Thus, less negative symptoms (fatigue, tearfulness, food cravings) are experienced. The only issue is less pregnanalone is produced. Some of the health benefits would be lessened and possibly lost. I'd really like to know the breakdown - the pros and cons of taking one over the other. IM progesterone is another way to bypass the breakdown of progesterone from the liver. If two can be combined (oral and suppository).
I’m currently weaning myself off levothyroxine and feeling better I haven’t had a period for over 4 years I’m wondering how to help myself from developing osteoporosis and to stop feeling old Also vaginal atrophy I’m ok with the hot flashes but I’ve certainly aged and I cannot lose the fat on the abdomen and arms despite doing keto etc Any advice?
Must lift weights as well as cardio. Dr. Mary Claire talks about how to tackle this. She has a lot of info on what you're inquiring. I think Menopause Taylor talks about the levels to avoid osteoporosis. Dr. Heather Hirsch is an excellent source as well. All here on YT.
I use every day a vitamin e capsule vaginally. I prick it open and lubricate my perifit (any dildo type thing ok) and it helps the vaginal atrophy. Its also pretty good lubricant for intercourse.
I developed sleep apnea and oxygen saturation problems while sleeping post menopause. ( for 12 months). Im not over weight. After lots of documenting what I do/ ingest, as I suspect its a chemistry set not a mechanical defect as the drs push cpap machines as one size fits all. 😞 Estrogen low dose gel and l -citrulline are proving to be the holy grail for this problem. Estrogen tanking (after estrogen dominance) and lack of nitric oxide. I work hard on my stubborn insulin resistance too. But am managing it. Its been hard for me because I am anti HRT. But the proof is inthe results. Hope this helps others. Also just adding I wouldn't have even known except I started wearing my smart watch while sleeping. It has saved my life. Highly recommend change of lifers doing this.

have you read hormone repair manual? Because progesterone is just one of many possible treatment strategies.

I am the same as you hun. It’s been one year of hell.Tried everything and I sensitive to all.
Could have PMDD, as some who have this condition have an intolerance to progesterone. Look into it.
