Maybe just put glowstone on the bottom of river. Or if you weren't in nether yet put some torches and then place slabs next to them.

Don’t forget, if an armored zombie or a zombie wielding a weapon stays underwater for a very long time, the zombie turns into a drowned and it’s weapon or armory or both gets dropped from them without any damage.

We need two changes in the Husk->Drowned transformation:
1. We need a reverse process when a zombie is in a desert.
2. We need another step in the transformation in the vice versa process: a bowless skeleton.

*Bonus fact:* you can drown zombies that have armor and equipment and it will always drop, this helps for easy gear farming and there's a chance they can spawn in full diamond armor.

I feel like husks are just zombies covered in sand so if they drown in water, the sand will be removed which made them into regular zombies :3

They died from dehydration, got their hydration back from drowning, got way too much hydration, and becomes a drowned
Now we need
Jungle zombies
Cave zombies (if done right you won’t be calling me stupid)
Ender zombies
Nether zombies (ik pigmen exist but we need more nether)
And we also need a new structure that’s a rundown farmhouse where we find zombie versions of EVERY animal like cows pigs chickens and sheep etc and also a new type of villager (can’t be spawned from villager egg, the only way to get the normal version is with the enchanted golden apple thing but it’s worth it) and it’s a zombie farmer villager that has a new weapon the Rake which is basically a replacement for the hoe
Them being caked in crusty sand would also explain why they don't burn in sunlight.

I have killed a lot of drowned and confirmed this they very rarely drop gold ingots

If you set up a zombie spawner where the zombies get funneled into an area that will convert them into drown, any armour or items they had equipped will be "shedded" at full durability
