I think op did the right thing by basically telling his parents that he wasn't going to help them because of what they did to him. did they really think the wouldn't be consequences for kicking their son out and draining his savings? to be honest I'm even surprised he wanted to talk to them near the end after everything they did. but I guess the universe decided to teach them a very very important lesson. don't put all your eggs in one basket or else you lose the lot. because now they've lost literally everything.
