There is no third bar like Werewolf and the Ultimate cannot be maintained/sustained like werewolves; it expires very quickly. Vampires are penalized for using non-vampiric skills (20% cost oer skill used), and there is no health regeneration at stage 4, no close in gap and no cool skills for players as you see in the trailer!
No swords can be used because swords use stamina and the vampire skills are magicka based, so therefore staves, and dps must remain at range for the stage 4, no health regeneration penalty; healers cannot heal the vampire, and the self-heal is only 23 health.
I spent $140 pre-ordering this! This is how excited I was. I thought we would get a new bar for the vampiric skills like werewolf has. I wanted more skills, yes, but not at such a great cost! The eyes could have looked cooler at Stage 4!

Dude/dudette your comment needs more recognition! Also stamina classes are used to make vampirism look sexy, which is an eminently magical skill set. It's not enough that magicka variants are better kitted but they're taking 'er stamina swag too!

Omg I'm so with you on this! We need Conjured Weapon skill line like in other Elder Scrolls!
However how would they work? A constant Passive that lets you equip the weapon and its just summon when you enter combat? Or should it work like powers? Hmmm need to got to forums and see if people are asking about this to support them!

Honestly Ravenwatch is quite a part of the plotline, it would seem. It is, after all, their prerogative. Of course whether or not they have any chance of survival when there are no more vampires nearby and no reason left to tolerate them is another story.

Rivenspire was my favorite of the Daggerfall storylines, so I'm hyped that she's coming back.
Love these types of breakdown videos from the Devs. Really does give insight/reasoning as to why they designed certain parts of the game the way they did. Way to go!

@@AdnanAhmed Only the vampiric strains in Oblivion and Skyrim had "feeding makes you weaker and more human-like, while starving makes you stronger and more monstrous". The rework just changes the ESO strain of vampirism to be more like the ones in Daggerfall and Morrowind.

It's funny to see that the vampire in the trailer wields some steel arms while vampires in the real game is heavily focused on the magicka users.
Not anymore we get stamina morphs for the skills too and they work really well

@@rybo0072 Stamina morph for vampire skills? Never saw it in the current version of PTS client. All of their required resources are health and magicka. Did ZOS mention that 6.0.4 will contain something to do with stamina based vampires? My stamplar is seriously considering dropping the curse after the patch goes live, so any information regarding stamina based vampires will help.
I’m goin to have to change my race and whole play style after this and it sucks. They should give out free race change tokens cuz they completely threw stam vamps under the bus.

I love the mix of songs in the beginning there was a merge of the Skyrim theme and I love how Skyrim plays a part in this as you can visit solitude

Werewolf has some updates in greymoor, nothing as extreme as the vamp rework but the new "kinda" execute bleed that follows up the pounce is pretty cool

"Feeding makes you MORE powerful now" - GOOD! That's how it should have been! The whole getting weaker from feeding thing was supposed to be specific to the Cyrodiil bloodline, because they made a bargain with Clavicus Vile. It wasn't supposed to apply to every other type of vampire in the setting.

@marcus24000 I kinda get their objective of the changes. But after playing it, it feels really awkward. The spammable being melee when there is no melee magicka weapon is like adding milk to your dry bread. Does it taste good? Maybe. But that's weird af. The rest of the kit is just..meh, which makes it feels bad to invest deeply into the tree and feeding to stage4 just for it. Frenzy probably have not much usage outside of pve since you kill yourself faster than enemies kill you. Only time I see its worthwhile in pvp is bomber builds. Drain is a nice regen and ulti gen but wtf that damage. Mesmerise.. What there are better cc out there, its just a rp skill. Mist form being mist form still, so ok.. Only thing that's really good is the ulti which again you have to invest into stage4 to utilise it properly.
The entire rework is.. 16 times the detail for sure.
@marcus24000 Well the vampire Lords probably don't have wings since in the trailer the Blood Matron says that the Great Vampires have the form given to them from Molah Bal so why can't her children.
You also have to remember that to become a vampire in this game you have to forsake Molag Bal. So I'm going to assume the vampire lord form you gain isn't as "complete" as the original since Molag Bal didn't give it to you personally.

I really hope they fix the appearance as well matching the new system better. I don't think you should look blood drained at stage 4 when you have fed on npcs. But that is just my opinion 🤷♂️
Milivum Dawn I agree! The way vamps are represented in other media, they drink blood and feed in order to stay looking young and beautiful in order to hide in civilization. Would be better if we start off looking terrible and then look better the more we feed.

They are reversing it to where you look more monstrous as you feed so you can see that the more powerful you are vampiricly, the less human you look. You could also think that your veins on the character are turning black from the process of consuming so much blood, that you are literally showing physical signs of vampirism.
Also reversing the stages so people have more reason to act like vamps and feeding has benefits.

Look at all those Stamina characters using Vampire. It's almost like the designers of this overview thought hybrids were a thing.
Wish they would add new weapons to the game, like Spears for Stamina and maybe Tomes for Magicka? Perhaps a hybrid like Quaterstaffs that we can morf skills into a Magicka Melee weapon. Or better yet Magicka Bound Weapons, that we could craft at Enchanting Tables.

The title fooled me, I legit thought you revamped the class system so we're not forced into classes but rather have it be completely sandbox.
I just want a skill system like Secret World pre-Legends. Free form class system. It would be cool if we can just unlock skill lines and mix match in ESO instead of choosing classes.

This game is so overwhelming. I just started playing this game Just over a week now and the content and DLC scares me lol... So much to play... I play as a vampire because I love horror and now I see they're doing an update for the vampire, I can't take the excitement man lol.. I'm doing the prequel to Greymoor at the moment and cannot wait for the full Greymoor release.. 👍❤️👍
Do the main story the one with molag Bal or at least do some of it so you can meet NPCs you will find on this new expansion.

Is there a *third bar* for the vampire skills (very important to this expansion about vampires)?
So, the Ultimate form doesn't give a third bar like werewolf form, and can we stay longer in that ultimate form? Where are the changes that I paid $140 in preordering this expansion?! That really sucks if this is the case. Does feeding heal the player? Can we we use swords like the NPCs in the trailer? Because the vampire line is magicka based now and there's no magicka based weapons. So, how can this be viable anymore?

Yeah, it's called being a vampire. Using vampire for just passives is bad game design and stupid. They are fixing that now, incentivizing, if you want to be a vampire use the vampire skills. It's funny how ESO players scream for "ClAsS DiVeSiTy" and the moment they start heading that direction (i.e. New Vampire Skill line) players like you start crying.
@@reypalpatine916 yes so diverse... it's like nothing in the game. Red abilities that siphon health... stealth... bleed attacks... yes... it's very original and like nothing else in the game. Did I mention you can turn invisible? That's nothing like idk.. NIGHTBLADE. Vampires in ESO are a variant nightblade, it's sad really. Could of made them like the ones in Skyrim but no, stealth, invis, stalkers is what they went with whilst HAVING A WHOLE CLASS that already does that.

This makes so much more sense then the original Vampire skill line... being punished for feeding which you gained more benefits for and the downside was easily leveled out by simply adding in some fire resist protection. Love this take far more from this description alone now.
You should really re-think that 100% Health recovery reduction in lvl 4 Vampirism & that 20% more cost in normal abilities..
I think it's actually good. There are some crazy advantages so it's natural it comes with crazy disadvantages. Tbh vampirism looks more like a PvP accessory now than PvE, since all vampiric skills but two are criminal acts.
Agreed, it's very inconvenient since all the heals heal based off a percentage of lost health. So if you want to be at full health you need to use non-vampiric healing abilities which has already been creating weird situations.
Like for example healing your dueling partner so you can actually issue them a duel, and having to heal yourself after every single fall in the game. Vampires at stage 4 feel weak.

5% cost increase from new moon acolyte is already proven to be a brutal cost increase...
and vampire stage 1 give 5% cost increase... vampire stage 4 gives 20% cost increase... it has an INSANE impact on your sustain, idiot. xD

As far as I've read that's not the case at all. as you progress through the stages yes, the vamp abilities will cost less. however, you have LESS health regen, you take MORE damage from flames, and your normal abilities will cost MORE to cast. that's not stronger in my opinion.
There are insane buffs that come with high vamp levels. Like invisible sprinting. And then getting a big weapon and spell damage increased for some seconds after the leave stealth or invisible.
Tanks don't use weapon or spell damage though
Yeah, for some roles it will suck, but overall it’s not a bad revamp, sure they do probably need to work out some stuff with it, but it’s really not that bad

Ever since I first saw the greymoor trailer I’ve been waiting for this to happen, I admit I was never really much of a fan of the vampire skill line in ESO before and much preferred the werewolf line, though I am hoping the werewolf line will get a rework similar to this in the future.
Werewolves are also getting reworked in the same patch. New WW stuff in Greymoor!

Stage 4 still has -100% health regeneration on the PTS and the only heal outside of the ultimate in the vampire skill line heals based on a % of lost health...
So use heals from one of the dozen other skill lines...
@@MrJade12 I do but they cost more. That ability cost got lessened from 20% to 12% on the PTS but it's still noticable. Also dismounting after every single fall to heal gets old, fast.
@@Vevvev8 have u tried perfected scion? I made an ulti build for it and its pretty much now just a character with extra buffs on it since transformed like 80% of the time
@@Darthforce122 Perfect Scion is a worse version of Swarming Scion. You end up healing for more since the AOE damage over time heals you as well as your other attacks. Also Scion at stage 4 costs roughly around 250 ultimate. I'm a magicka dragonknight and it's better for me to use cheaper ultimates like Ferocious Leap that heal me when I use them.

I just bought this version for my ps4 yesterday! I’m excited to play it
50% of my happiness is how good the feeling of playing a vampire is and the other 50% is seeing the old vampire users that used it just to be op because of cost reduction and regeneration cry on the forums.
Honestly as a vampire player I am happy vampirism is getting a much needed overhaul. Every installment of the series kinda makes them less and less impactful to play as. Hell you don't even need to feed in vanilla skyrim.
Lmfao the the cost reduction and regen passives are far from op. These new changes just make vamp a pain in the ass to play.
They are op, because they don't have drawbacks, now it's not a pain to play you just have to play more like a vampire if you are a vampire.

You have no health regen, take insane fire damage and take insane fire damage.. you play vamp for recourse sustain, at the cost of health.. now there’s no reason to be a vamp.. completely gutted sustain, crazy damage from fire, no health regen, I wouldn’t even use vamp on a tank anymore

I think this will be one of the best zones to play in. I think the wrothgar storyline will be hard to beat in terms of storytelling but i think we might have a new contender here :) great work on the previews!
This version of vampires I think is better than any iteration of vampires in any other Elder scrolls game before.
Do I get a bow that shoot arrows with my blood to cause a solar eclipse to grow more powerful?
I hope the Werewolf mission gets enhanced as well.

i stopped at 1500 hours...last time that i played for real was 2 years ago, but once you Master the game the DLC's really suck still have to finish the journey of my character then maybe i'll play the clockwork city...and the rest...
im still hoping for the implementation of a Microphone to talk as your character and do roleplay. It's still impossible to roleplay in the chat since people spam useless stuff and russian spam. We need a better chat HUD Windows more structured, with bots that prevent spam. Stop releasing DLC's if the main experience it's still uncomplete...and unsatisfactory

Chapters are amazing as well as DLCs in my opinion. Elsweyr is my all time favorute at the moment. Characters and lore is just amazing.
@@JasperTube Console ESO actually has proximity chat oddly enough. You can also disable Zone chat if you want to RP in a certain area, then talk in emote/local say chat which is what most RP peeps do.
Why do the NPC vampire skills look better than these? Why don't we have wings?

Wolfan Terror youre a blood scion, not vampire lord.
Its the same reason why we dont get to look like werewolf lords (unless you buy the polymorph).
They tried adding wings, but they were visually disruptive, blocks your vision, so they tried making the wings see-through, which just produced an extremely fugly visual... So they just removed the wings entirely.
@@MyouKyuubi because why do what the players want and give us the stoopid chicken wing wings, I wish I could say it was laziness it's worse, they have justified the inability to give us what we want because "lore" yet simultaneously changed the nature of vampirism in this update. 🤣

I sure can’t wait for the cost increase in all non vamp abilities and the removal of supernatural recovery! So not only are we using more resources to cast abilities, we also don’t even have the extra stam and mag recovery. Bravo...

But you get a skill that increases weapon/spell damage, increase weapon/spell damage from stealth, invisibility, and mistform. You even get reduce cost to sprint and the longer you sprint you go invisible. You also get an ult that heals you and increase health, Magicka, and stamina. One morph litterally cancels the negatives.
TheBlakamon15 but those skills cost health aka a death sentence and nobody uses sneak besides gankers. You can’t really sneak up on a boss lol. Also nobody wants to have to rely on a Ultimate either
I played most of the AAA mmos and I find ESO the most immersive one. Now I only regret I didnt play it since launch cos there is so much content that I feel overwhelmed. Here goes my 12k hrs in WoW lol.

How ironic, in the first person views in this trailer (such as at 1:55), the field of view is quite wide and actually looks playable
Yet the in-game field of view at 130 is still absolute gobshite.
ZOS, pleeeaaase give us a decent fish-eye field of view like literally any other game, I wanna be able to immerse myself better into ESO! But this is severely preventing me from doing this.

Remove the Increased Cost to Regular Abilities and the new vampire might be useful. The weakness far outweigh the strengths, in particular for stamina characters. Each ability with exception of Blood Frenzy, is literally useless to stamina characters.
That's kind of the point. Vampires have always leaned more towards magicka. While werewolves are stamina.

Vampires in TES have always made excellent mages, warriors and rogues - as their toolset caters far more vastly than that of the werewolf. Remember, vampirism isn't a transformation, it is a state of being.
The only thing in the new vampires toolset that caters to non-magicka characters, is the passives - which are good, but they're negligible when compared to the massive weaknesses imposed with the increased regular ability cost.
There should always be equilibrium in the vampires strengths and weaknesses, but currently it is far weaker than strong - all because of the increased cost.
Vampire has always been more magicka focussed though. While yes, it would be cool to have more versatility we already have the werewolf skill tree for stamina users. Maybe if they overhauled the werewolf skill tree so you wouldn't require ulting to use the abilities it would be more useful, something like partial transformations that create temporary werewolf limbs that let you use werewolf skills while you're in human form.
Vampires are magicka, werewolves are stamina. Thats all you need to know.
I agree. I always liked playing melee vampires in games. But you can't do that here anymore. "Play the way you want" isn't true in this case.

Helo from 2022. Nerfed frenzy makes vampire unplayble now. Show some love to this skill line... its dumb and usless. All pvp runs it for 1 passive and all pve dont use it at all.

I'm new to ESO and I've recently joined mainly for the vampire RP and lore, since VTM is not yet a viable option...
I just turned my dark elf necromancer character to a newly vampire and I was somewhat excited to build it up...yet you claim it's unplayable now, not worth it I assume...so why is that..??..
@@gabeghiby6935 it use to have a skill that would keep making you stronger at the cost of your health the stronger you got the more health you lose but à lot of people found a way to nmake it work without dying and and basically oneshot any boss the dev found out and they nerfed it to the point where the skill is just not worth it to use
@@Ganbare_Kenji I've tried and experimented a bit with the vampire and I'm somewhat disappointed about it, about how the developers made it... I guess that's part of why TVM will still be a great success even with all the controversy shrouding it, because not many studios dare to.make vampires aa they should...

Well most of this looks pretty good. Pretty turned off by the ultimate just being another werewolf/necromancer transformation, though. Hopefully they let me keep my bats.
One of the ultimate morphs has the bats with vamp lord. Basically your bats is buffed now

Ever since Dawnguard I've looked forward to hunting a few Vamps. Pity we don't have armoured trolls this time round, they did add those fascinating Blackreach deer though 3:33 !
