Looking good! Can you add a link to the paper roll you have hanging on the side to protect your table top? The ones i'm finding won't stop glue moisture and stain/paint from bleeding through. Thanks!
The author does like to from scratch, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.
Both my guy and I have separate shops. His shop is tractors, painting tractors or trucks, tractor repair/rebuild, combine work and occasionally a warm space for me to work on wood projects, furniture or vintage camper restoration. My shop is mostly camping, project building, home improvement, gardening and wood projects. We both have the need for paper towels, rags and gloves! I am a re-user so I have a crap ton of odd lumber. I tend not to buy plans as I would have to have all the same type of material. I like to see ideas and wing it. I LOVE French cleats too!!! Nothing should be hung on a wall without one! Thanks for the video and ideas! NOTE: what I would buy is the paper towel dowel holders and spacers, but I will make them out of wood..
Awesome cabinet. Much fancier than my setup. My wife has a cat so I get cat litter buckets. Hinged lid and rectangular. I cut a 4" circle in the lower face of the bucket to pull the rags out. I stick the bucket on a shelf or hang from the handle depending on where I need it.
Just keep your videos and narranting keep coming. Really enjoying watching your stuff. And so much greet tools in the states.... and cheap (in relation to here in Denmark)
Liked everything except the paper towel holder. I can make everything except the 3D printing! Keeping things light and Humorous is a great touch as well... Keep up the good work.
LOL, yep same here...so I had to scrap the plans to make one of these because I don't have a 3D printer....I'll pickup the plans again when I have a 3D printer, then I'll just 3D print the whole cabinet HAHA!!
@@wildbill23cI don't have a 3D printer either but I made them with plywood, a forstner bit and a chisel. You don't need a 3D printer. I'm sure a hardware store might also have something similar.
@@jac_builtWoodworks I was just going to cut some slots in some scrap wood to insert a dowel, but the 3D printer would be a fun tool to have otherwise LOL.
Great idea, thanks. I use all the same towels, but use both plain white paper and blue shop towels. I'll have to figure out a way to incorporate a second roll holder into it. - Chris
Looks great! I' d like one for my kitchen ... I would use it for my tea towels, cloths and sponges etc ! I have to convince my brother to build me one.
I would build one for you. I am looking for thing to do if I ever get free time :-) I bet I will be making a couple of these to install at both of my daughters homes...
Extremely nice.....They say......necessity is the mother of all invention!!! That is an extremely useful product.....Thank you for making a video on it, and sharing it....Well done!!
Damn. I was just screwing around with rags and thinking "these all need to go in the same spot". Also, I like the woodpecker "addition". I have a "woodpecker wall" on my french cleats. I'll have it up once I finally get everything going.
Like your DIY storage items I built the same roller holder for construction paper used when doing glue ups for segmented builds roll off what you need and I do as you did just reload paper back onto the roll use it again as needed 👍
Great video and yes i am one of those people who has a roll of paper, and a box of gloves sitting there catching dust, along with my box of plasters (band aid) as well. Thanks for the idea, i have seen similar but this one is spot on. Barry (ENG)
Great build. I think I will build one also. With a couple changes I am going to put a hook below the gloves to hold my hearing protection so I don't have to look for those also. And I am going to make the entire front plexiglass. Otherwise great idea.
Excellent idea, thanks. I need to do something very similar out in my shop, always needing towels, rags, gloves, etc. This is a great shop must have, otherwise they all get tossed around the shop and never where they were when you last saw them. That cabinet can easily be modified to accommodate different items too, excellent.
Finally, 1st! This is what I like about this channel most, everything you build is something I want to build too. The bigger maker channels have cool stuff and fun to watch but I'd never build 90% of it.
Very cool idea. I think I might make one of those next rainy day I get :-) One piece of advice that someone gave me once that made me happy was to slow down the router if it's burning your piece. Less heat that way.
Love it too! Will add a bay to mine for the lint free t-shirt rags I also use for finishing. Plan to make mine "double wide" and add a roll of regular paper towels. Also thinking of adding a water less hand cleaner dispenser under the gloves dispenser.
This looks like something I will need to build. The only addition I would make is a place for waterless hand cleaner. I use Joe's Hand Cleaner (available on Amazon). I started using Joe's because the container hangs upside down. It turns out to be a great waterless cleaner. A hook under the latex gloves would be the only thing to add.
This popped up as a suggested video for me and I thought this project was genius so I hit the subscribe button and I will be looking at more of your videos for inspiration. Once I get my electrician to run power to my shed will definitely be building one of these. Thanks
I liked the project and the video. Since you asked for feedback....In my shop, I use gloves and paper towels, but also wax paper (not enough rags for three boxes). My cloth rags are uniform, and used for applying or wiping stain (so I don't need three separate boxes). When I use paper towels, (as you said) my hands are already covered in water, paint or stain. So grabbing the paper roll to rip off one is a problem. With wax paper, I tear off small pieces, to keep glue off the clamps and workbench. So my ideal rack would have: - Two or more rolls, but restrained (slightly) to make them easier to tear off just one. Maybe add an edge to cut off the wax paper piece - One (or no) box for cloth towels - Keep the glove box as you didThe 3-D printed parts are (sort of) cheating, as few of us have these. Routing that "L"-shaped channel for the roll bar(s) would be fair, though.
Love it. I work in a Hospital and the only thing I am go into do differently is the glove holder will lye flat on a shelf. When the glove box is full it works great mounted like yours. However when it is 1/2 full or less gloves fall out and hit the floor.
I have been thinking about doing something with all my rags lately, I cut a hole in a coffee can that was ok ok but cheesy. I have found the answer thanks to you, building one this week. Thanks for a great video. New to the channel,on board brother.✌️
Congratulation Travis on your 41,671 subscribers. Your channel is excellent and always filled with outstanding information. This shop towel dispenser is the best one I've seen built here on UA-cam. Great job! Keep the videos coming my friend.
Hey everyone! Lot's have asked for plans so I took the time to make some. Digital plans available here bit.ly/3ZXgjkg

Who could argue with way faster and no need for dust collection as you said? 🤷 Badass karate chop my friend! 😂 😂 😂
45 degree ramp blocks. Optional, but BRILLIANT. Just awesome.
Shop idea for extension cords......ready GO!
This is one of those projects that if you’re gonna build one, might as well build two at the same time!
How am I just now discovering your channel?!? It’s the holy grail of diy

love your jobs.. i think your jigsaw skills are amazing!!
Barry Roberts comment below has inspired me to consider a small first aid cabinet for band-aids and antiseptic ....

Hey that works too! Pretty creative
What a GREAT idea!
This is my first video for Shop Nation. Great project and I will be back!
Enjoyed this one! Probably going to do this and add a spot on the other side for a pump bottle of orange hand cleaner.
Or hand sanitizer the jumbo size🙌
Quick Easy Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s one helluva nice shop. Mine is a closet next to that! Love it.
I enjoyed you shop projects very much, thanks for your efforts
Nice project and first time viewer. I would leave the slots open to push rags down when they get hung up.
That’s a great suggestion, I’ve gotten that one a couple times!
Great idea, I will be building on of these!
Perfect... my next project right here!
Worthwhile, yet modest project,...almost an afterthought...bet it gets a lot of use...thx
