Today we're talking about my top 5 shrubs and small trees that are suitable for shady areas in your landscape, and will absolutely add curb appeal, and potentially up to 10% to your home or property's value! Since I live on a very woodsy property, I've spent the past 5 years researching and learning about shrubs I can add into my landscape and garden beds that are beautiful, but can still thrive in dappled light and shade.

Our Japanese Maple was something we bought on super sale in the fall! It's in the middle of its second winter with us and seems to be holding steady. Once it gets more growth, Todd was planning on using it as his outdoor bonsai project! I'll have to send you some pics of the front of the house - I think I'm ready to start putting more plants in-ground... I've been commitment-phobic to actual landscaping for years now but I think it's time. Id love to get some of those blue flowers you showed!

I want to bonsai mine too! I look forward to seeing Todd's project this spring and def wanna pick his brain. And don't be a commitment phobic to planting in the ground! I move plants like furniture lol. Transplanting is alwaaays an option

I wish I had done more research on shrubs before I planted mine. I lost quite a few before I figured out I had planted them in the wrong area. Thanks for the information.
