To have good neighbors is priceless. But one must know our boundaries!
We, too, are blessed with great gardening neighbors. Love how you’ve collaborated with yours to create a beautiful garden. 🌺🥰🙏
Hello,
My Neighbour are my parents so we share ideas and cuttings all the time. Also my friend is down the road so we are always swapping plants. Great idea and it looks great. Sweet people you have next door to you. Xx
We take care of a couple of beds on our small downtown Main Street with others caring for some as well, quite often we take our extra perennials and plant them in the beds, we get so much satisfaction from this project. 🥰
Yay for Dick and Jean! Great neighbors are such a blessing.
Good neighbors ARE a blessing!
AND Rare :(
Especially pretty neighbors :)
A special video of kindness with neighbors! Everything looked wonderful!
My neighbor is crazy!!!!
It’s great that your neighbors actually planted them along with you and that will usually make them feel more invested to help take care of them as they get going. I wish I was your neighbor! 😁
i loved this project, my garden is much more visible in the neighborhood and yesterday a neighbor brought me fresh blueberries to thank me for all my work making my outside the fence gardens. It’s so easy to think of these projects for our own enjoyment, or in my case the creative challenge and for the pollinators but it’s so nice to hear that it makes my neighbors happy too!
It's nice when others notice and take the time & effort to let you how much your garden is enjoyed!!
I have neighbors that come to see my yard on their evening walks and it’s such a great feeling to share the beauty of the garden. I often offer plants to neighbors when they get over-grown in my yard. It’s a great way for them to have a piece of the garden they love and for me to know my babies will be taken care of in their new homes. Community feeling definitely runs deep in my little slice of heaven.
Hello,
how are you doing?
Which general area is your little slice of heaven? Sounds great.
@@elsagrace3893 Lancaster PA,USA In the heart of Amish country. I’m in a little village surrounded by corn fields.
Love the choice of plants. The goats beard already bloomed for us here. Carnival watermelon Heuchera is going to love the shade there. Always great to have a community that gets involved with the garden.💚💚💚💚💚💚
It looks lovely. You are an inspiration for creating the life you want. Getting together with your great neighbors to do a productive and creative work of beauty.
Fantastic video Erin! This is what it's all about; neighbors that are actually neighborly! Thanks so much for sharing this. Also great plant selections that are tough and resilient! Have a great weekend.
I like using Lamb’s Ear in dry shade-it doesn’t flower or spread much in the shade, and it’s SO drought tolerant.
Good morning
How are you doing today?
Been struggling with a dry shade situation for years so this video has really given me some great plant choices to try. Thank you!
Your house is stunning! I don’t have a shared space but I do share a love of gardening with 2 neighbors. It’s lovely to sit and visit outside in each other’s gardens.
Love this idea. I have a perfect narrow spot with my neighbor.
It already looks great but I can't wait for the spring update!
You're so lucky to have great neighbors... I wanted to make a joint garden between us and our neighbor and she flat refused and ended up cutting down 2 large beautiful trees and erecting a 6 foot privacy fence!!! Geeee... was it something I said??? Can't wait to see the garden next year when it's filled in ....
Love this video! Good neighbors are a blessing. Will be so great to see these grow and fill in! Thanks for sharing.
Good morning K Bell,
How are you doing today?
I think we all can safely say that we would also Love to Be your Neighbor. 💖💖💖
Wish you were my neighbor, Erin. On the side that doesn’t have the Houttuynia chameleon ivy. 😆 what a great project bringing the neighborhood together. Love it! You look really pretty, too!
I haven’t even watched this yet and I cannot express how excited I am. I have tons of dry shade at my house and have struggled to find the right plants. So thank you for reading my mind. 😊
Good morning.
How are you doing Nicole?
How nice to work together. Having good neighbors that share your interests is priceless. The plants are going to be beautiful without worrying about night visitors enjoying the buffet. Ours have been horrible this year😵 Thank you for sharing this project!!
What a pretty area! It looks so cool and shady. I can't wait to watch it grow in.
I do love the intention of neighbor love
I love your beautiful house, and I think that it’s great to garden with your neighbors! I abhor people that try to outdo their neighbors’ gardens. Can’t we all just enjoy what everyone else is doing in the neighborhood? A little grace and peace, please. ☺️🌿
this looks fantastic -- can't wait to see some photos as it progresses.
This was very touching and a good antidote for our times. It was especially almost amusing to see non-gardeners contemplating the growth of plants! Can't wait to see both the growth of this area and the growth of your neighbors understanding. 🌲💐💃🌻💃🌲
That’s cool that your neighbors agreed to be in your video! My neighbors are probably too camera shy!!!
That was so fun! Always great to see your choices of tough plants for dry shade and deer. Also really enjoyed meeting your neighbors and seeing different camera views- cool community project.
Very nice sharing, I like the community of sharing idea.."friend helping friends"
We need this kind of vibes 😍👌💕
I just finished digging out all of our Blue Zinger here in central IL. My front garden is dry shade with clay soil. They looked great the first year, then all heck broke loose. In three years it completely overtook a heavily planted garden. After ripping a bunch out a few times a year, and it still spreading out of control, it was clearly time to go. BZ could be a wonderful groundcover for a large area, but definitely not at my house.
Loooove the wild geranium and sweet woodruff. Such pretty leaf textures
Plants that thrive in shade were introduced. It is a plant that lives in the shade but should not be wet. It's a bit tricky.Thank you for sharing.
What lucky neighbors you both have in each other.
I’m getting ready to plant under my 5 big spruce trees, where I haven’t been able to get anything (except for invasive weeds!) to grow. This is stellar information for me to apply to my garden. Thank you!
Hello how are you doing?
Lucky you and lucky neighbors to have each other! I used to live in a wonderful "Leave it to Beaver" neighborhood where everyone knew and helped each other. Unfortunately those people have all died off and now no one talks to anyone or even knows their names! Lots of people who move in for six months, make trouble and a mess and move out! Sorry to say my current best neighbor is the high privacy fence I put around my entire property! I LOVE to have a neighbor like you!
What a lovely idea!
Nice neighbors enjoyed the project like to see updates.
Good timing! My parents want me to help them with a dry shade area that gets deer.
Good morning Gwyneth,
How are you doing today?
I love this plant combo. So natural looking. Can’t wait for it to fill in
Wonderful to have such fun neighbors! Will be on the watch out for updates.
Great video
I love how your guy neighbor looks to see who is making all the background noise….darn neighbors😜
Looks great! Love the look of your yard from their yard.
That was so entertaining😀 it looks great, please keep us posted on it as it grows👍
What a great idea and project! So nice to do something together with a neighbor.
Hi Erin! What a great project to do with your neighbors! They seem really sweet and it was nice that they helped planting everything. That area will be so pretty when it fills in. The view of your house is beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!
I actually planted this carex last spring in a sunny border with only occasional supplemental watering. So far this year I have had to weed it from the rest of the border already twice. At this rate I expect to have to do it in the autumn as well. Luckily a friend of mine was looking for such an active (not to say aggressive) ground cover, so I'll split mine and hope this will slow then down a bit. I don't want to get rid of them completely because they have the perfect height for the front of the border and they have a very beautiful blue colour.
Good morning Inese,
How are you doing today?
What a great idea!
Great to see neighbours getting along and working together on a joint venture :)
would you be willing to share a link to your source of plugs.- especially those who sell retail? BTW have been watching different gardeners and find that you have a wonderful presentation - full of knowledge and not repetitive.
Thanks for sharing your joint neighbour project, it’s looking great. It a win/win effort by both parties. Your lucky to have a great neighbor.
Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
This was truly fun.... can't wait to see how it progresses... and, I hope you show those last plants you planted again... so we can see how it looks after it grows.
I love a good collaboration story! The finished project looks so good, Erin.
What a wonderful collaborative project. Thanks
What a cool idea! Shared space is so traditional and a lost community effort! We need more of it! Great job! It’s going to be a very important part of you’re complete gardening effort! Hope you keep us up on how it’s growing and your neighbors opinion! Love meeting them! You’re great!
Good morning JJ,
How are you doing today?
My neighbor across the street and I are helping each other with some projects, that way we both get something nice to look at from our front porches.
Good morning Carla,
How are you doing today?
love your passion
What fun and great neighbors!!
Very nice new garden space with some very nice neighbors - what a terrific idea!
Love the idea.
Fortunately I don't have a problem with deer but found this really interesting , wish I actually had more dry shade 😊
Good morning Carolina,
How are you doing today?
Such a great video about sharing with neighbours. I share gardens with both my neighbours on each side. Love it!
Love it, Erin! ❤❤❤ Could we have an update on this garden, this Spring?
Unfortunately, no update is possible because it’s gone. Check out my “I’m cutting down my neighbors’ trees” video for an update on where it went.
Wonderful!
Love this!
love how lamium just pops! it's going to be a beautiful tapestry once everything fills in 🥰
Good morning Y Garden,
How are you doing today?
Exactly the project guidance I need! We are currently taking turns weed whacking the strip old trees between our homes. Thanks!
Very inspiring! And timely as I have a shared dry shady spot with my master gardener neighbor. Love that sweet woodruff but you also gave me some other ideas. Thanks!!
I need to rewatch this and take notes!!
Good morning Alice,
How are you doing?
I have had good success with Lamium. I like that it’s a cool vs warm color that is a great back drop for other cool and warm colored foliage and flowers.
Hello Julia,
How are you doing today?
Thanks for sharing... a lot of great info! I love the shared space idea.
A most charming video, and a testament to your good nature and accomplishment in a social sphere.
Wish I had a neighbor like you!!!
You have such a beautiful house. I love everything about it.
What a fun project!!
In case anyone hasn't said it... fun with Dick and Jean. 🌿🌻😍
Thanks for all the great plant ideas for dry shade! Our neighborhood has big pines at the entrance that we want to plant under and there is no irrigation. Our beautification committee could keep them watered the first year. Great video 😊
Great project and beautiful view of your home. You should show this view more often
Good idea
I bought my 1 acre property in Cincinnati OH a few years ago with most of it pretty much original woodland. The previous owner planted lambium and it has completely overwhelmed an enormous portion of the ground and choked out native species like wild poppy and sweet woodruff with its eye to consume it all at the rate it is spreading. How do you know if the variety of lambium you chose wont become an absolute beast?
I'm really interested in this project. I love turning an area that has had nothing done with it into a pretty space. With the low maintenance plants, it looks natural too..👍🏻
Hello Suzetteccc,
How are you doing today?
Such great neighbors, love your plant choices.😊
Man would I love to be able to get plugs of the geranium…I mail ordered one that was over $10 for ONE…. I sowed seeds that I got from England (couldn’t find it available here) and ended up with 4 plants 😢 (I am glad to have them!) I have tons of dry shade and lots of deer 🦌….
Hello Susan.
How are you doing today?
What an awesome project. Good in all aspects.
That pink was a lovely color on you! Love this project and love good neighbors :)
Good morning Chelsea,
How are you doing today?

You are just amazing and so unpretentious..so refreshing
I love it
This was a great project
Your house is beautiful!
Love the video thank you x
Great team work! A wonderful idea!
Good morning Lisa.
How are you doing today?
I have a bed in my front yard. Spring time it looks good, then it looks like crap. I wish I could show you a picture, because I need ideas.
Your neighbors are good, is not easy to find good neighbors. I like the new plants , I will try few under my huges trees .
