When I was withdrawaling after 10 years of Suboxone, 5HTP was the ONLY thing that gave me relief. I used LOW DOSE kratom AT NIGHT ONLY, For about 2 weeks and then 5htp after that, and it helped HUGE with getting my serotonin/dopamine back to normal

So, the people that it helps - chances are that they were low to begin with and 5-HTP helps by refueling your car sotospeak. An SSRI is like taking a bunch of gallon jugs and putting them in one by one/day by day on a cross country trip. 5 -HTP is more so to start with full tank. Is it more complicated than I just said? Of course; am I a licensed professional? No However, psychology is a soft science, experiences are still rather subjective, but there are some physical markers that psychiatrists and doctors read/treat.
5htp, as I have understood, is a precursor, which means a building block to serotonin, so the body gets tryptophan from food, converts it into 5htp, then serotonin, and then into melatonin. Not a doctor, tho.
I took one prior to watching but take bupropion daily. This is the first I’ve heard to not mix it! Stopping now but it helps me sleep so well.
Bupropion doesn’t work on serotonin so you should be okay.

L-tryptophan might be a better option, as your body only converts it into 5-htp when it needs it.
5 htp is more efficient to cross the bbb (blood brain barrier) and cell membrane
