I just got my Mica in 2 hours ago this morning. I got the all black with AR-RPM9 steel, first impressions are good. Lock up seems solid.. The size of this knife is even surprising in person I'll say, its definitely gonna be a knife I just have in a bag of mine for convenience or carry when I have limited pocket space. Cool timing of this vid MC, and thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I got a Mica for my mom for Christmas. Mine is only really good to open with the button, the detent is wicked strong

I love my mica in black aluminum! It’s a great office carry where larger knives are frowned upon. I do hope they make these in g10 or micarta in the future because the aluminum is a little slippery and having a little more grippy handle on such a small knife would be great.

The thing I love about cjrb is there a newer designs are amazing, the quality for the price is out of this world, and I can typically just order whatever I want from them without taking out a second mortgage

I don't know why everyone started using the ultim. It's ok for some models that have an interesting brake or something else so you can see how it works (for example, Serge Panchenko), but now making every model with this material is pointless. As well as each fashion will last a few months and that's it. As far as I'm concerned, let them charge $50 more if it's material. It's more expensive, but this is pure fashion, so let them take money from such people.

Not even just an "if you like tiny knives" thing; I think it's appealing if you just naturally have smaller hands (regardless of age/gender, but also maybe children and teens in particular). Or just if you need a small knife for compact or discreet carry, maybe if an outfit has limited pocket space or you need to pack super light. Or even thinking of knife history with the classic slipjoint, many of which are even smaller yet so incredibly useful and popular enough to have lasted hundreds of years in knife user's interests and daily carries.

Ultem is special.
As a guitar pick.
Awesome flexibility and fairly good mechanical friction resistance.
Now... Unfortunately here the designers did not take into consideration some of the other characteristics. Like the crack and puncture resistance at a certain material thickness.
In a week after receiving it and fairly fidgeting with it, the button spring pocked out on the other side. Take a lense and magnify that area while pushing the button. Yup... It's a disaster waiting to happen...

I like a lot of those special pyrites they did but for one thing. Not a single one had the drop point blade (am I wrong?). Now the mini pyrite has no drop point also? For that reason I got the mica in aluminum and I like it a lot. Plus it’s slightly larger than the mini.

Ultem is a really cool material, I have a bunch of Ultem gear/pocket trash including an Ultem pen from tactile turn and Ultem scales on my shaman just to name a couple. As with most things though, the more I see it on production models the less cool it becomes.
But hey, maybe I’m just being a saucy spaghetti boy with spaghetti in his pants.

They have it on Amazon. I was going to get that version at first but then realized that the version name " spray paint " isn't just a name it's actually spray painted those colors. So I decided to just get a regular colored one. The spray paint one was $10 more than the regular aluminum ones also. Got mine about 2 weeks ago on sale for I think $32. Where the cool looking spray paint one was $45
