Honestly, M390 60-61 HRC will perform very well with its edge retention. It is a reasonably priced piece of pocket jewelry that isn't claiming or trying to be a hard use heavy hitter.
I'll never understand how people expect to pay $250 for a knife with this blade steel and then end up shocked it isn't coming back at 64 HRC? It totallydelivers at the price it goes for IMO

The last run were low. This newest run are all between 59-62 from what I’ve seen. I’ve tested one at work on our machine and it came in at 60.5. So take that for what it’s worth. Most of you are never going to utilize m390 to its fullest anyway lol. It’s not a hard use knife so it doesn’t matter.

I have the 2 kingfisher and the rhino and I have spine whacked all three and never had a fail. The spine whack dosent mean much to me the way I use my knife but did it anyway. Im not sure of the hrc but when I bought it people had tested it on many remette knives and said it was accurate

First batch for me. Love the knife but my detent ball fell out the first day I got it. Luckily I found it and was able to send in a picture because at that point I didn't know how to disassemble it. I was able to get the pivot cap of by depressing it first and digging my nail into one of the notches. Below that, you need a flat head with a milled center to turn the pivot around the center shaft that contacts the liner. They did give me a full refund but initially wanted me to ship it back to China. When I asked them if they would cover my shipping, they said don't worry about it and issued me a refund. I may try to glue some magnets inside it to see if I can make a detent. I don't feel like milling a slot in the center of a screw driver though.

Before anyone purchases this knife or another Remette I recommend checking out CBRx's review of this knife. He found the HRC on his to be around 54 which is abysmal at best. Incredibly light spine whacks also caused the lock to fail. There is a good chance his knife wasn't even M390.

@@Sleepy_spartan717 That's good hopefully they're fixing the lock disengaging from tapping too. A hard whack I'm not concerned about but the light tap he was able to get it to fail on was disturbing.

REMETTE promises that the hardness of all M390 steel blades are required to reach 59HRC or above, if the product is lower than this hardness we can double the compensation. Welcome friends who can conduct professional and accurate blade hardness testing to do so .
RT-Peregrine Falcon knives use a liner lock system, and those who purchase any version can test it, and we can double compensate for any knife that unlocks with a lightly tap on the spine.
We guarantee to persist in manufacturing high-quality and valuable products.

A torx head in the center of the button would ruin the aesthetics, it's great the way it is. It has notching on the edge so you can grip at it with some resourcefulness.

Another channel tested the hardness of the blade and it came out to be mid 50s. Kinda sad. Yeah it’s a sample size of one. But it’s put me off on buying this knife. Especially at $250

I really love how Remette has stepped up this year and tried to differentiate themselves and up their quality at the same time. However, they keep stating 59-61 HRC on their website does not inspire confidence. They posted a supposed" random" test of 4 blades showing 62 but obviously they have no confidence in the true HRC being that high or they would state so. Maxace already listened to you and other on magnacut and now are at 61-62 up from 59+ originally. This is the only thing keeping me from buying Remette. 59 M390 is not good and I am not willing to play the HRC lottery. Keep pushing this companies to up the HRC and stand behind it. Cheers!

Testing of one of these knives by someone not part of the company showed a hardness of 54-55.
Their heat treat protocol is garbage. But this company is looking to target pocket jewelry collectors that will never use their knife enough that it even needs to be sharpened.

CBRx is currently making a series on how bad this knife is. Says the heat treat is in the mid 50s and fails the spine wack test. Maybe he just got a bad one.
