- Buses in Harlow, in Post Office Road near to the bus station with a few seen arriving at the bus station itself, on 7th June 2022. Arriva operate a significant number of Optare Solos and Versas on local services with MMCs on main trunk routes - though following issues with the type on the 724, SB200 / Pulsar 3747 has been loaned from Derby as a trial, seen here alongside a few other Wrightbus single decks in the town. Local independent Central Connect has a variety of types including new MMCs, ex-London vehicles, and a Solo still in the livery of previous owner Marshalls of Sutton-on-Trent.
Operators and routes:
Arriva Southern Counties: 1 - 4, 8 - 10, 59, 86, 508 - 510, 724
Central Connect: 5, 410, 420, 420A
National Express (operated by Oxford Bus Company): 737

2482 is now at the back of Ware Garage waiting for scrap due to a hole in the engine!
Its alot more common to see 4008 in Harlow now as they are the only bus able to run the 4,6&8 other than the solos. Especially since 1460 is gone.
Just to let you know, we are Arriva Herts and Essex/Kent Thameside, not Southern Counties.
I understood it that Arriva Kent Thameside is the subsidiary company / operator licence and Arriva Herts and Essex is the public facing name for the part of AKT within those two counties, while the AKT and Arriva Kent & Surrey licences both come under Arriva Southern Counties management and thus share the same fleet numbering scheme etc?
I do also remember reading of a proposal a year or two back to at least partially undo the changes made when the Hertfordshire garages were transferred from The Shires, but then never saw any further news on that?
Great video!
Thanks!
Great video
Thanks!!
Can you come back and do it luton or dunstable
Not a guarantee but might return to Luton soon, since the new bus station in Stevenage is about to open and I find it often works well to visit both towns on the same day
1:23 is that the ex Marshall’s ?? And do you know what reg is it please ??
Yep, YG02FWL was ex-Marshalls. It was with Central Connect for several months last year, before passing to Yorkshire Buses (still carrying unbranded Marshalls livery) and has since been withdrawn by them.
Nice Video! And Since When Did They Have Wright Pulsars On Route 724.
Thanks! This one has been around at least few weeks as a trial, the route still mostly being worked by the Enviro200 MMCs for now. And no, I'm not quite sure why this bus was loaned from Derby when Southern Counties have SB200 / Pulsars in their own fleet - unless it is to a different spec in some way?
@@astock5000 , I believe the Pulsars are now the current 724 vehicles. However, they will just run where needs be alongside the Harlow Eclipses and Urbans
@@bowlerstuff9589 Yes, I've seen on a recent fleet list that more Pulsars have transferred into Harlow permanently, while the example in this video has since returned to one of the Midlands garages. The Harlow - Stansted MMCs are still appearing on the 724 somewhat regularly however.
@@astock5000 The remaining MMCs have been put on the Stansted routes, so now the Sapphire vehicle is in the 508-510 branding.
