Jackie has the most interesting friends. I’m praying that God will allow me to find my “tribe “…a group of women that I can share with AND glean, and we all grow in the Lord TOGETHER. ❤
This is called the difference between exegesis vs eisegesis. And it is shocking how many pastors don’t know what the words mean or how to do proper exegesis 🤦♀️
@@Blovely007 I learned this in seminary. Exegesis is basically doing a linguistic, cultural, political, geographical, and anthropological deep dive into the text. The text isn’t being written in a silo. It’s being written to a particular audience addressing specific things that are happening in that time and space. I 💯 percent believe God still speaks to us in modern times through the text, but if you don’t know how to do proper exegesis you will end up with bad theology every 👏🏽 single 👏🏽 time 👏🏽. That’s how slave owners justified slavery via bad exegesis. To see what stellar exegesis looks like, check out Philip Payne’s “Man and Woman: One in Christ.” Hands down the BEST exegetical study on women in the Bible.
I absolutely love this! We've started reading as a family and I am so blown away at how much I've learned from both my husband and children by way of holy spirit. Group bible study is so important and to pray before reading, Holy spirit will show up and show out! 🙏🏽
Yay! I went to Jackson State also!🤗 Read Philemon. Oniscemus was a slave who escaped and got saved. Paul wrote Philemon, who was his master to let him know Oniscemus was coming back as his brother in Christ.
Something that I was taught and I recognized that Jackie had done in her Jude study was this cascading set of questions. Provide about five observation questions. This helps my members focus on the concrete stuff of the verse. Then I provide about three contextual questions. Jackie did an awesome job of this by providing the context of common Hellenistic writing styles in the Pauline letters then asked about their significance. Finally providing two open-ended questions so that my members can really build on the stuff we discovered in the verse beforehand. I find this method really helps build on the context of the verse so people aren't just going under their feelings and prevents crickets from open-ended questions they felt were too difficult to answer. Thank you so much for all of your time and energy into these studies.
any submission to a difficult situation is God reminding us that the battle is His! God can bring us through anything and everything if we would ultimately submit to Him which in turn means to listen when he say submit to x,y,z.God is good!
I'm from Jackson, MS and a graduate of Jackson State (currently living in NJ), and Jasmine's link to my hometown was the Godwink I didn't know I needed. ❤
when she was talking about knocking down the idols that are present in parenting... I have never heard a parent admit that or say it like that. I'm praising God for you, Melissa Kruger. that is deep. your book is going to set so many people free--both parents and children. (and that is how you use a dash mid-sentence lol I was also a grammar / English nerd)
Our pastor has been preaching through Ephesians this year. Watching this has helped to cement that teaching in my mind and bind it to my heart. Thank you! 💕
Wonderful podcast. I could listen to the three of them talk all day. I am definitely interested in all of the books mentioned and for the record, my dear Mrs Perry, 35 is very very young! Blessings to you hubby and family❤
Yay! This is taking me back to 2020-22 working at Amazon sneaking my headphones in a busting out shifts listening to y’all 🫶🏽🥹! Nostalgic 😭🙌🏽! And nowww I get to look at yall 🤣!
What a sweet group of friends! You all are blessed. I appreciate listening to what the Lord reveals to you. Also, Jackie, where did you get that couch? I adore the style and the color...and it would be perfect in my living room. Please, do more Let's Talk reunions. We Christian women need to be exposed to more thinking women friendships. I long for it. thanks and God bless.
Yes, my late pastor would check you, or should I say, teach correctly by letting you know in a small group if you are incorrect about the Bible. She had the " Teaching Spirit " for that I am disciplined.
I honestly keep noticing how much I have in common with Jackie so I don’t feel so alone in some of my struggles. Thank you for your transparency @JackieHillPerry ❤️🩹
I always hear people say "slaves obey your masters", but the KJV says "servants obey your masters", which is largely what I think was being referred to.. if you are put in a position to serve, whether through leadership or subordination in any way at all, do so as unto God
y’all are speaking a word and i’m truly grateful!! the world needs more of yall keep letting god lead you all🙌🏽🙌🏽 I was wondering if you had any recommendations for a good bible study book that includes more than one book of the bible?
I think historical context is wonderful regarding slavery. I do believe the practical application of the workplace is a valid interpretation spiritually . With regards to applying it to our lives today. Just a little hit at Jackie😂
Thank you for this bible study! God has been calling me to read Ephesians and I knew I lacked understanding, and this study has helped me understand the book soooo much better!
Please, Jackie I hope I am wrong but the lady called Jasmine on your seems jealous of you. Please, pray about her. Some women are always jealous even when they have their own blessings. I felt a discomfort in my spirit when looks at you when you are not looking at her. May God reveal her heart towards you. God bless you Jakie and your family.❤
Man. I’ll pray for you because the spirit of pessimism and divisiveness that must regularly oppress you to come to this conclusion and articulate this viewpoint must be heavy. I mean just demonic. God bless you.
Jackie has the most interesting friends. I’m praying that God will allow me to find my “tribe “…a group of women that I can share with AND glean, and we all grow in the Lord TOGETHER. ❤
This has been my prayer
Have you checked out their podcast "Let's Talk" before?
This is a heart desire of mine ❤😢
That part ❤
@@alisunshine123 I have not, I hadn’t even heard of it until today! But I’m going to go back and listen to some of those episodes.
I think part of the problem is that we are not reading the Bible with an understanding of historical context with an eye how it relates to us today.
say it louder for the people in the back. I've been looking into this and it's eye opening for sure

Indicative - facts, signs
Imperative - actions; commands
Thank you for this!
I just gotta say it… I miss this podcast 😔 hearing powerful, intelligent women speak on the Bible in such a clear point of view is amazing ❤
Ain’t even a full minute in & we’re already preaching, “to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord”. That’s a whole praise.
That’s so crazy I’m fasting right now in this moment , and this comment is confirmation that I’m doing the right thing and studying the right thing. ❤
We want more Bible studies from you Jackie! Video Bible studies, please 🙏🏾
