Agreed! Out of the box is way better! For rare pops, I get it. But just common and even most chases, nope! People collect these thinking they will be worth tons of money down the line. Nope. Too saturated.

When I first watched this video (about one to two months ago ) I had 3 pops and I was not a pop connoisseur per say, I just thought they were aesthetically pleasing. Now I am a serious collector and have about 27-30 in my collection and about a quarter of them are chases, exclusives and rare/vaulted pops. As soon as I took my collection seriously I understood just how vast the world of Funko is. To me, TopPops is very much like a mentor, like Yoda is to Luke. So, what I'm saying is, thank you TP for being my inspiration ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I got a Harry Potter in a TriWizard Tournament outfit for about half the original price (about 4$) because the box was tore and a Game Stop worker felt sorry for me.

Another time I went to Barnes And Noble during a pop sale with my grandmother, who got a teacher discount.
I love funko pops but here in Greece they aren't popular and there are almost no shops to buy them.However,there is one shop that sells my fav series,harry potter,but each one costs 15€ even if its dobby.

So this little gem came up when I searched funko pop channels. It's so crazy how much you've grown!
You know how I started my pop colection. And how I still do it? I go to any stores, stare at them, and go back home with the character I loved the most in the store . That's it.

I first started collecting (kinda) Pops a few years ago when I got 5 for Christmas -- Flash, Reverse Flash, Arkham Knight, The Arrow, and Ant-Man -- and then I began buying a few more here and there over the past 2-3 years, such as the Captain America 75th Anniversary Kohl's Exclusive, Vision, Deadpool (the same one in the outro), and a Doctor Strange I picked up at a Maker Faire Convention in New York. It's been a while since I've gotten a Pop so my collection has been the same for the past year.
Oh I have flash reverse flash reverse reverse flash and reverse x3 flash-just a joke btw not to be taken seriously

I started collecting Pops in 2017, as a big harley quinn and joker collector i saw the Joker 8 Bit Pop and thought it was cool. Up until that point i never even thought about Pops! But then i saw they had a chase version of the joker 8 bit, so i got that one. Then i started looking at all Joker Pops and got them, then Harley Quinn, Then all 8 Bits, then fav movie icons and its gone on and on and on. Now i have 303 singles, 2 x 6", 2 x 10", 5 x Double Sets, and others..... its gone crazy! Now my wife is collecting them!! Now i find myself looking at all auctions and buying real cheap pops just to give them a home. But its great i think there fanastic items to collect. I am also amazed at the fan base, Its great to see the younger generation also keen. Well done Top Pops i really enjoy your vids.

I started mine when me and my dad watched guardians of the galaxy and I really liked the bit with baby groot at the end. A couple of days later he bought me a baby groot pop, then I decided I couldn't have just one😂
This is so cool. I got my first pop today you probably can't guess what one but I got I got Jack from the shining (but I'm to young to watch it). I've not opened it yet and for Christmas I'm getting pennywise I don't know what one and ghost face or Jigsaw and my sister is getting Chucky and jack's wife (I can't remember the name). When I collect pops I only get one from each theme like I only have one toy story pop (mrs nesbitt), And one mcu pop (black panther)

Pennywise with Skateboard(Exclusive), Pennywise with balloon, Stephen King, Beverly from It, Krampus, The Nun, Annabelle, Black Canary(Birds of Prey), Harley Quinn in booby trap battle(exclusive), Benson from Regular Show, Plant from Little shop of horrors, Chucky, Chief Brody from Jaws, The shark from Jaws, Eleven fighting Demogorgon in classroom(Stranger Things) and 3 kids from It

Thinking about starting collecting pops. THis really helped!
1. choose a pop and find a good store
2. Find a spot to put them
3. Stick to a pop line (ex: get a pop from Star Wars and stick to Star Wars pops for a bit)
4. Get a nice shelf (down the line if you have a lot)
I have a few pops. One of my favorites is the green goblin from into the spider verse. I fell in love with the movies character r design and especially green goblin I mean he is soo cool looking.

I honestly started my collection from Dollarama LOL. Got a Morton Schmidt Pop from 21 Jump Street Movie for $4.00
I have 5 Dollarama Pops and I seriously suggest that as a good way to start your collection.
Brought them home and learned about Pops/Value and the Pop community.
Out of all the pops, the ones i want the most are the Top Cat Pops

I have the Marvel Universe #06 Captain America pop.
The issue is that the set has 2 retired pops and they're too expensive. Should i buy the rest of the set without the retired ones or should i start a new set?
@TopPops great advice on pop collecting I sadly only have 2 pops I have a Venomized captain america and Megavolt I want to try and collect more Venomized pops and also get both of the gamer Mickey and Minnie pops
I get overwhelmed with too many Funko's.
Good point though with the boxes,I've thrown most of mine away so I can admire the funko's I have.:) I've been keeping the ones I love and use some of them as storage boxes. I started collecting funko's with Coraline funko's. I'm a movie of animation funko collector.

Great video with lots of info for new collectors. 1 thing you maybe should have pointed out is how fast a collection can grow. One day you pick up a single pop and 4-5 months later you can have over $1000 worth of pops with out even trying hard to grow your collection. Very fun to collect. Searching for your pops to complete a series is half the fun. Another good thing to point out is you can never or will never have every pop. For one there are just so many the expense would be outrageous and also I think they designed this way having different release stores and exclusives etc so it takes some work to get a complete series. That and pops getting retired etc. For the most part just have fun and enjoy the hunt
