Heya! Hope you’re all having a good weekend. Thanks for joining me on this solo adventure this week! Hope you enjoyed. Let me know your questions for next weeks video below as we will be filming a Q&A tomorrow 😊⬇️ Iz x
I think redoing the layout of your van to incorporate a walkthrough is 1000% the most worthwhile and productive use of your time and funds imaginable. From a safety standpoint to practicality. It doesn’t need to be large, pretty or even convenient, but having some method of physically getting your body from a giant room in the back to the steering wheel in the front without having to come into contact with the elements or facing folk(s) with unknown intentions at odd hours of the night or in desolate locations is absolutely *golden.* Just my 2 pennies.
Watching you and Tom on your various adventures, I wouldn't have guessed that this was out of your comfort zone, so good on you for doing it, onward and upward.
Dolly came round for Sunday tea (mother's day) and watched Isobel's solo adventure. She really enjoyed it, laughing on a number of occasions. After watching she asked, "What channel is this on." We explained You Tube to her, and I think you have another fan !!! Well done Isobel and Tom for the best vlogs around. ❤
BRILLIANT FILM IZZY!!! And thanks for letting us hear a taste of your New album "Solo Female Van Life" - the track list: 1 "Don't Scratch the Van" 2 "Tom's got the mirrors in a different location" 3 "Air of these windows every day Hey Hey!" 4 "I gotta big transit van, and I don't care" 5 "Let's get cosy in the van" 6 "You got it, it's just me in the van!" 😂 I know you like have your separate "cab-servatory" but that must be the 100th time I've wondered if you would benefit from at least having an emergency hatch in the bulkhead, from above the hob through to where the headrest of the driver's seat is (you'd need to remove the headrest and replace it with a cushioned pad fixed to the cab side of the new emergency hatch.)
Tom is right, Home Bargains is full of absolute tat. Your singing forces a smile and you have that quality that few have in your ability to provoke positive emotion in complete strangers. It's a powerful talent Izzy. Love that you went solo but for me lost in transit is the powerhouse it is due to the amazing relationship you have with Tom. You did a brilliant job with the editing Izzy.
I absolutely love this! So nice to see someone else who sings when nervous. When I went to Europe last year I spent most of my time singing 'i'm on the edge, just driving on the right' to remind myself what side of the road I needed to be on 😂 Be careful, solo travel is addictive 😊
With a british RHD car, you can say at continental europe: At your right hand = near at the border of the road. One guy has made a joke. He drove a RHD car in contiental Europe. At the left passenger seat he mounted a sceleton. So at first view, it looks that the bone scelet would drive the car. When I travel to the UK with my continental LHD Car - i would like to do the same. British people would love this kind of humor.
That was really cool Iz. It looked like it was pretty daunting for you as it was outside your comfort zone so well done for conquering your fears. Glad to see you making the most of it, although we can tell you missed Tom too. All in all, a lovely vid 👍
Really enjoyed your video but fair play to you for giving it a go. Challenging yourself makes you stronger . Safety is important too glad to see you had double lock on the van.Keep up the good work😊❤
You go gurrrl! Brave indeed! ❤️ I was so excited to see you have an Aldi! We have them in the US too. My favorite grocery store. I was hoping to see more in-store filming to compare 😄😄 Sending love from the US! ❤
Hiya. Wow I’m so impressed! What a wonderful happy adventurous girl you are.I only stumbled across you yesterday with your Scottish adventure and wow that was quite something for you and Tom.I feel in awe of you both and what you are doing, being an older person I’m jealous really lol!!Now I’ve found you I’ll be joining you on your UA-cam adventure, be happy stay safe xx
Hi Iz. My goodness. Aren't you a confident and accomplished being? You mastered the 'alone' project in the van. I had no doubt what so ever that you were up for the 'alone task.' You proved me correct. Its amazing what we are all capable-of when we put our mind to it. So well done Iz. I'm proud of you. Well done Iz.
Old man here, grandfather to a beautiful, vibrant 2 year old girl. Such a joy. Just like you Izzy❤️ You are so funny & full of life. A beautiful human soul. Best wishes to you & Tom.
I would definitely recommend to upgrade and converting your van to a walk through the front. Make this a priority sooner than later. Or Highly consider purchasing or trading in your van for a walk through van. It is a Safety option God’s Blessings to you Both Stay Safe Everyone... God’s Blessings to Everyone
Hey! This is fascinating... Great spirit of the road stuff. Best to push on through those little fears. Pesky and bothersome, they can throw a kink in the best of plans. You should be cheered for you are facing them. Cheers!
Great video, well done for stepping out of your comfort zone 👍 I get bouts of anxiety, it use to be a lot worse but I gave up caffeine over 6 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I made. I find meditating and journaling helps as well 🙂🙏 p.s love the singing 🤘😎
My Question. Instead of a walk through, have you considered a bail-out hatch as a safety alternative ? Just an opening above the kitchen area, hidden by a curtain. Saves having to rebuild the partitioning wall. Just needs a folding step to give you a leg up on to the worktop, then through. Of course, your spice racks ond so on would have to be relocated...
Yeah, we are considering putting one in above the cooker, would have to get an angle grinder out to cut through the tiles, but would probably be worth it
Broadcast a barking dog via a speaker.... nobody will continue breaking in if they think an Alsatian is ready to launch at them the minute the door opens.
Izzy , Great work on the editing 👍. I know that your anxiety can sometimes get the better of you ( me too ) , but you did really well . Always love your little songs , you cheer us all up so much x PS Love Tom too 😆.
I live full time in my van currently heading o the Isle of Wight as there are so many great park ups with sea views! I loved your video you would be the absolute ultimate vanlife companion with your quirky and funny personality 😊 I even enjoyed your random singing 😂😂 well done on your solo vanlife supermarket stealth camp out 👍🏻
Well done for going solo for a day!! 👏 I have the same fear as you, and you've inspired me to push myself and just bloody drive. Also, you are hilarious and a joy to watch!
1st time watcher, now subscribed. When you came out if the Aldi and said about the council office opposite I immediately recognised where you were as we camped in a site about 100m away in January. (We live 200 miles away)
Hi, I had the same problem with my diesel heater. I replaced the leisure batteries with 2 x 100ah lifepo4 batteries, and a victory 12/30 dc to dc charger, never had the issue again, batteries have never dropped below 13V since the upgrade😊
We have 200ah lipo4 as well, I think there could possibly be a loose connection to the heater causing voltage drop, as the start up doesnt work even when sitting at 13v
Interesting that it works when engine is running, I’ve heard some diesel heaters demand more start up power over time. But maybe it needs to be wired directly onto the batteries, if it’s not already
The heater is just about the only thing that has stayed from the people we bought the van off. Im actually not sure how its wired, i will have to try and work it out at some point,
This is more like luxury stealth camping. I just came here to see camp gear. I like the pillow idea, I want to do that. Besides a bucket, chair, solar panel and cooler. I got all my camp gear in 4 large duffle-like tent bags, furniture, and everything. I'm ready to go at any moment. It's amazing how this new camp gear folds down into a small size and almost weighs nothing. I'm a glamper I guess.
i like pretty much everything about you, your attitude, energy, beauty, joviality, your youth, you are a beautiful person, never lose all your characteristics that make you unique and lovable
No way!! I was surprised enough when I recognised Bodders and even more so when you ended up parked in Aldi!! I live just over the valley and can literally see where you parked up from my back bedroom 😁
Well now, wasn't that a lovely thing to do, well done Izzy. We love those Katsu plant based foods, the peri peri ones are even nicer. I would have done the same thing, not gone to far from home, so can head home if want. Well done girly you did it,super proud of you going out of your comfortzone, good confidence booster for you. I suppose walk through or even a escape hatch is something to think of in the future.
Well done Izzy. I get anxious about filling my car up with fuel. Living in Spain I always get confused which pump is diesel or petrol , so it’s even worse here. It’s ridiculous but every time I have to get fuel I look up a note in my phone to double check I’ve got the correct pump. I’ve been driving since I was 17. I dont think it was an issue when I was young & filled the car up every other week, but now that I’m a grandma and am seldom well enough to go out alone, filling the car occurs about twice a year. I’m inspired by your adventure and determined that when we next go out I’m going to put fuel in my car, even if my husband is sitting in the driving seat. Stage 1 towards a little more independence. 😅
This was a nice video. Enjoyed seeing you push yourself outside the norm. One thing to watch is some Aldi carparks have parking eye on them. Which is when they scan your plate and if you stop over 2 hours you get a fine. Most supermarkets have max stay time even if they don't explicitly say no overnight stays. Only just seen your channel. Then instantly recognisable Bodmin ASDA petrol station. I've filled up there every time I come to Cornwall from the Midlands (3 times a year for the last 20 years!)
You might not need to rebuild much for a crawl-trough hatch in the wall, either permanently open, or with an emergency hatch you can pull and crawl into the drivers seat to take off. I would probably go for a removable hatch since it is better to separate the compartments in cold weather and just leave it open during summer.
Hi Izzy, good video and good editing. You should be proud for challenging your fears, and, realizing how competent and skilled you are with all involved with van life 🤩🤸, especially thinking of all you (and Tom) have accomplished over the years. PS you know instant coffee contains hundreds of chemicals and you can buy decaf ground coffee..Well done, have a great time with family xx.
Hi love, so nice that you made it alone! Sometimes we need to confirm to ourselves that we can do (nearly 😉) everything without help or company. 💪 Well done. 🙂
I love that you did this solo!! Way to go! Some advice I’ve heard that unfortunately I think applies to female solo car camping is to back into your parking spot. You never know when you’d need a quick escape…. It stinks but I personally think it’s smart. But you do what you’re comfy with 😊😊
My transit custom sets the horn off when the doors aren’t shut properly I scared the crap out of an old lady by mistake at work 😂🤭 Just found your channel and subscribed I want to turn my old gardening van into a camper one day 🙌🏼
Love coming across other people who make up songs when anxious. I basically have a full stage production in the making 😂😂 also once you start a nervous song, I find it cathartic to finish it off when I'm over the fear with a silly ending to remind myself 9/10 it turns out okay. 🤷🏼♀️
Tom usually reigns in the crazy.... you can tell Izzy edited this one herself haha. Hey Izzy.... you're lovely, dont change a thing about yourself. Enjoyed this.
First time ever seeing a video of yours and You are so adorable and to see how happy you where is very Cute. Great job on your getting over your fears.
Great vid izzy, love the van, bed looks a bit of a faff to make up. I think I'd put an escape hatch through to the front though. Great adventure guys. X
Looked like fun! We're Cornwall bound just from North Devon later this week for an extra long weekend. We'll keep an eye open & give a wave if we see you! 🚐🚐
Actually the first video of your I’ve watched and I think it’s a brilliant look - nice van (lots of questions - only ones of envy) your funny, funny! Gonna check out your other content - I was chuffed to see you picking vegan foods - how are those Katsu fillets? I’ve been eyeing those up on my lunch breaks 😊
Heya! Hope you’re all having a good weekend. Thanks for joining me on this solo adventure this week! Hope you enjoyed. Let me know your questions for next weeks video below as we will be filming a Q&A tomorrow 😊⬇️ Iz x

Hi, fyi diesel heaters use 10x the power to start up as they do to run once hot we have the same problem with 2 x 110ah batteries.

This was refreshing 😅🤙🏻♥️
Well done, Izzy. Big achievement for you.
Really good video well done going solo first time ever I have subscribed
Izzy giving Matt Watson vibes with her own mumbling 😂
You go girl!
You might not need to rebuild much for a crawl-trough hatch in the wall, either permanently open, or with an emergency hatch you can pull and crawl into the drivers seat to take off.
I would probably go for a removable hatch since it is better to separate the compartments in cold weather and just leave it open during summer.
Liked your video Izzy , looks like you’re living the perfect life ! 🎊 😊
Great video!! I think Ane should try a stealth solo camp :P thats one thing we love about our little van is having the walkway through to the front!
