  • Changing teams ALWAYS seems like a great idea, but these players chose to leave the teams they were playing great on and very quickly regretted it. Some careers were heavily damaged and others were completely ruined!

I still think that Dallas should’ve kept Kemba Walker as a backup of sorts and a Vet player

I ain’t tryna hate hopefully Brodie win a championship but he been the problem for every team he been on in his career, and no superstars can play wit him, that why he being passed around in the league. That why I don’t blame KD for leaving him,he can’t win with anyone, hopefully he wins one tho,I am rooting for him to win

He always tries his best but keeps making the same mistakes over and over. At some point, he’s gotta take responsibility. Hopefully, he’ll work on what he needs to do in order to stay in the league.

The kemba comments are very misleading. Kemba walker main reason for his unsuccess in Boston was injury and then the mediocre Knicks not playing him/blaming them for there bad defense when post kemba still was bad until they got brunson year.

Carmelo Anthony's career didn't get ruined because of joining another team, but because of his selfishness of not sharing the ball, playing zero defense (for his entire time as a professional, lol) and being greedy. He's the reason why the Knicks got way worse once he got there, he forced to be traded there so that he could sign a big payday contract in 2011 off season and the team (Knicks) had to give up half their roster to get him there through the trade. He's only at fault for how his career went on in the NBA.

The 2012-2013 season wasn't bad for him. He had the Knicks finish second in East finishing behind the Heat. That team had Tyson Chandler, Raymond Felton as starters and JR Smith coming off the bench. How good were those teams really? His Nuggets teams looked to be better and they made the WCF. I personally think he should have stayed in Denver felt they had higher title aspirations. The Knicks didn't give that impression and it was more than just Melo

It is quite amazing when borderline star players like Lamar Odom, Lance Stephenson, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah go to a different system their whole game falls apart... Players like these should really think hard about going elsewhere as you are a product of the system and if the system changes the end result changes too. It is "just basketball" someone might say, but it is not so. When you find a home and a system that caters to your strengths you should hang onto that with your dear life... The likeliness that, as a limited player like these dudes were, you will find a similar role in a different system may prove to be really hard and if you can't fit you can't play. No matter how many triple-doubles you had in your previous team... Only the very top players can institute a system change and even sometimes that doesn't work as in the cases of Westbrook and Carmelo.
People have been talking about Damien Lillard here too, as in this is maybe why he doesn't want to go to another team, which may be right, but he has a valid skill for today's game and with it he can find a role on practically any team. He may not be the number one attraction, but if you can shoot you can play... And this is basically the reason why Westbrooks, Carmelo's and Kemba's are finding it hard to stick to a team... None of the have been really good three point shooters and have made their money from closer to the bucket. Lillard has a high demand skill and that should not be overlooked in these comparisons. But being the man and going to playing second fiddle doesn't work for everybody... Damien has earned all of our respect and he can do whatever he wants to with his career. He has paid his dues and nobody will hold anything he does from here on out against him. Unless he starts tackling guys left and right all of a sudden...

Deng had back issues (had a spinal tap) for which he was hospitalized for a month, during which his coach didn't even come to visit him there (that's how it was reported back then).
Deng had all the good reasons to leave, he wasn't valued. His decline can be attributed to his health issues. He led the league in minutes per game for years, no wonder why no Bulls player from that squad had a long career. All thanks to one Tom Thibodeau.

I think if melo join miami with lbj and wade ,he could be a monster both ends of the floor, he just stop playing defense when he know in nyk hes the first option in offense and hes shot selection sometimes awful knowing there will be no other elite scorer on the team . Even amare is injured they are a legit contender in nyk

Westbrook fell off after leaving OKC? Bad take, he averaged a triple double with Washington, made a playoff run with Houston where he played great, yeah didn't look good with the Lakers but ended the season willing a Clippers team without it's superstars through a playoff series. He's still got a lot of fuel in his tank

Knicks scapegoated Melo. After being the one to not jump on the bandwagon and join not only his closest friend but biggest rival at the time, he came to actually bring back NY basketball. He came to team with Amare but he was injured nearly the entire time he was there. He survived Mike D'Antoni whose a great offensive coach but never valued defense in his life. Then they bring in Mike Woodson who coached the Knicks to their best regular season record since 99 good enough for the 2 seed in the east and Melo legit had an MVP caliber season and what do the Knicks do? Beg Phil Jackson to become team president even though he didn't want to but they offered him too much money to turn down. Then he fires Mike Woodson who they just had a great season with, couldn't get his 1st choice in Steve Kerr to coach because we all know what he went to do instead so he brings in Derek Fisher a guy who never coached at any level at this time to come force the triangle offense into a league that evolved past that. Then when that didn't work he traded all their key role players to teams where they ended up winning a championship. And all that time Melo just took all the blame and kept balling. Then you draft Kristaps Porzingis who wasn't even heard of in the states and you admitted was a project over guys like Devin Booker and Miles Turner you know people who would've meshed with Melo's game better than a 7'3 jump shooter who's soft in the post and didn't rebound well. And yet we still like to crap on Melo
