@@katsu5015 Nah Melo was just greedy for the spotlight, he was in the big market ofc so I would understand why he'd want to be the guy of the knicks, but still it wasn't healthy for the team as they went 20-20 with Melo but without him they went 16-10. Melo is like Westbrook he cares more about individual success than team success but to be fair it is also important to have some individual success to enter the hall of fame, but it wasn't healthy at all for the team.
I like Jeremy’s game but the injuries held him back. Melo really destroyed his rise to superstardom, he just got so salty of how he think Jeremy Lin stole his spotlight from him. Carmelo is poison to any team and will never ever win a championship with that kind of personality in the NBA
Add to the Lin situation, Melo forced a trade into New York when he could just sign there at the end of the season since he was on an expiring contract. Btw, the trade basically took the bench depth of the Knicks
Melo was so jealous that the fans love Jeremy Lin more than him, He told the organization that off season it’s either him or me which I believe did something to Lin mentally, thinking he did something wrong, thinking I don’t want to come anybody else team and takeover I just want to fit in, poor guy was never the same player after what Melo did
Cuz he was probably scared if he did he would get traded he got traded to the worst situation to the rockets where it was just the harden show then the Lakers where it was just kobe he was scared of taking over cuz he would be traded
As a Laker fan, I don't want us to win #18 this year.Melo should not get a ring! He should retire and finalize that divorce of his for what he did to Lin
Don't forget that Dwight brought his ego from Orlando to LA as well. D'Antoni wanted Dwight for mainly PnR but he wanted more post ups when Gasol is clearly the better post player. He should have focused more on rim running which could have saved his back from being injured and it would have made LA's offense that much better. Imagine Gasol and Nash just throwing lobs repeatedly to Dwight instead of him flailing his arms to get a good post position and failing at it.
The reason that Jeremy Lin's career took a nose dive is bc he got injured and never returned the same. He lost a significant amount of explosiveness & speed. He was never a strong defender but when he returned he became a huge defensive liability. Most harmful was that he lost his explosive first step which was crucial to his game bc his strength was penetrating the defense.
Lin should have worn kneepads on both knees since the beginning. If you watch Knicks footage, he mainly wore lower leg compression sleeves & maybe one or no kneepads. Since he likes zigzagging to the basket as aforementioned (penetrating defense), that will increase your chances of banging knees/bodies with other players. Kneepads might have helped him avoid that meniscus tear & he would have been in the playoffs, who knows. Hindsight is 20/20. As they say, practice prevention.
A lot of players in the NBA have their downfall or fall short thanks to injuries or their roles being changed. Like Chris Paul and derrick rose who are known to be injury prone. And former star kevin love when he went to Cleveland. Many people criticize that he isn't actually good and that he only had those stats thanks for him being in a weak team but it's actually because he isn't playing the same role he originally did. Kevin Love used to go to down to the rim more in Minnesota but he sacrificed his stats and accepted his shooting role in Cleveland to help them win a championship. Jeremy Lin role in all of his teams was to score points and even though he isn't as explosive as he used to be, he became a better overall player. He became better at offball handling and a better shooter. So yes, injuries plagued his career but for the most part it's just him unable to play to his strengths and being unable to gain the opportunity to he had with the New York knicks.
True watch basketball examined on UA-cam channel pointed this out I am happy he slightly changed his game in Portland but now now I was a team pick up Jeremy lin from the G ledge he should be playing asap if he can get to a system link Don Nelson, Mike D Antoni or pop he should be good.

Lin seems to play his best when he is the lead guard & the coach creates plays around him. It's also the chemistry with subordinate players, such as when he was with the Knicks, mainly without Melo. Introduce Melo, Harden, Kobe into the mix & making Lin 2nd level, then it somehow disrupted Lin. According to Lin, his best days playing were with Hornets.
