omg this is so funny. I did this at work when I told my coworker what aisle i left something in. I was like "it's over there *points w/ lips*" and the funny thing is, he figured it out.
hahahah that is so true...i thought this was also commonly done by people from other countries...because growing up, i found most Filipinos have the tendency to point with their lips...lol then i just realized, it was just a Filipino thing to do...lol
Lol it's not just a Filipino thing. Native Americans do it as well
The advance version of the pointing with the lips is to add a little noise to it and depending on how far away an object is, is how long you make the noise for. My lola does this all the time.

OMG, this is the funniest thing I gave seen all week! I'm Puerto Rican and we are lip pointers, which is the reason I found this video as I was looking for an image of a lip-pointing Puerto Rican. Maybe if I play it without audio I can tell people Auntie is Puerto Rican LOL just kidding.

This is a latin culture mannerism. Haha pointing the lips to direct but there is also the using your head (from chin) to point. Then there is the more extreme variation using both lip pointing and the head pointing!
I started going to a Zumba class with a predominately Filipino group, and I have now witnessed the pointing of the lips. It was a faux-Filipino who did it, but it was awesome. lol
There was this time when I was pointing with my lips and as I was turning my head in the right direction, I saw this guy and he gave me a really weird look. He probably thought I wanted to kiss him or something. HAHA! I initially thought that everyone on earth points with their lips! LOL
