    One of the best videos - although nearly all of them are great. But here you can take some key numbers to the table! Thanks - once more James!

      James (SplitSuit) nah I haven't man was not aware there were anymore, I'll find those and watch them for sure. I got into poker through chess about a year ago as I heard the logic is very similar, turns out it was, I started with $20 on stars and I've been taking shots at 25NL in the past month w/ a $600 bankroll. Really wish I found your channel earlier cause your content has improved my game IMMENSELY. I've watched a lot of your videos and read probably half of the poker bank over the past few months and your advice has made me into a far more competent and level headed player. Do you have a paypal or patreon I could contribute to as a thank you? Also if you're ever in toronto please mention it in a video, I'd love to buy you a couple drinks and thank you for everything you've taught me.
      Much love,
      -Mac

      Thanks Mac, that means the world to me. I hope your shot goes well, and I'll let you know if/when I swing through Toronto.
      As for a PayPal, here is my link: www.paypal.me/splitsuit Thanks for even thinking of it =)

    I did 80% without flopzilla. However seeing in the question number of combos helped a ton. If there wasn't any info it would be a hell to calculate it all (i didnt use calculator or piece of paper).

    I got 70% without flopzilla. Just wanted to test myself without the software. I've been recently using flopzilla a lot. I misread one question lol. Great video.

    Is this quiz something to do with flopzilla up and running, manual combo counting, or gut feeling/guesstimate from previous study?

    Great video as always! I actually wanted to ask you a question (maybe a topic for the next video ): James, how do you deal with bad beats??? I play 9 handed SnGs and 2/5 cash games and I understand %s and variance but the number of bad beats I get it's beyond ridiculous!! Just over the last week I was basically pushed to the limit to the point that my gf came to the room, switched of my pc and said: 'enough for today, we are going for a walk'. I am talking about aggrotards and donks hitting their magical cards on the river over and over again while playing gut shots, low/second pairs or 4 cards runner runner straight playing A7o vs my AK in 4 bet all in pots. I am a profitable player and am choosing my spots quite well but over the last week I have had a really traumaric experience!! What do you do apart from taking a deep breath and analyzing that hand to make sure it was a profitable decision??

      Thanks Tom!
      Sorry to hear about the recent run. When running bad I take a lot of breaks, do a lot of study, and do my absolute best to not let the run-bad influence my future decisions. Most players let the run-bad manifest into fearing monsters, which leaves them playing too nitty and leaving heaps on the table. Check out this article I did on running bad - hopefully it helps =)

    Misread question 9 :( Thought it was asking for a gutshot draw or better, not gutshot or better draw....

    • @splitsuit
      @splitsuit 6 років тому

      Yeah - it's tough to figure out the correct way to word things like that without listing every possibility (gutshot and/or OESD and/or flush draw and/or OESFD, etc.)

    • @melnor82
      @melnor82 6 років тому

      Yeah and for it not to get too wordy. Like, What % of villains range is non-made hands that contain a gutshot draw or better? I will say that this one lesson gave me some things to apply directly to my game, and that I did. Would you say that this type of material is exploitative? For example, in some random spot, if I can assume villain is only continuing with his range 10% of the time and I bet or raise, I can have two napkins and it's +EV a large portion of the time?

    I think the biggest takeaway here is bluff more, fold less, push edges, and crush no ?

    I can’t find the promo code for purchasing FlopZilla. Is that still an active thing? Or did I miss the boat

      Hey G. Unfortunately that code has expired - but the good news is that it's $25 right now when it used to be $35 =)

      James (SplitSuit) hey a quick thank you for all that you’ve done for me through your training videos. Only one gripe, not from a poker standpoint but as a recording engineer, PLEASE USE A POP FILTER!!!(or a De-esser)Haha those S’s and P’s are killing my speakers :)
      Seriously though, fantastic body of work. Keep up the great videos and wish continued success for you and your team.

    • @splitsuit

      Thanks G. Are you talking about this video? Or my older videos?

    • @gscott4791
      @gscott4791 6 років тому

      James (SplitSuit) This video unlocked a key for me to not only beat but hunt the micro-regs at my site. And that’s just one of the hundreds of things I’ve learned(and still trying to learn ) from ALL of your videos....
      you know, I wrote this, and then realized that wasn’t your question, but decided to keep it in anyway 👍.
      To answer your question, it was way worse on your earlier videos but it’s still a pretty intense sibilance. If you have an audio editor, let him know. If not, you could even try putting socks over the mic, it will dampen it if you don’t have a pop filter. If you have any audio editing software, even free ones should have a De-esser which smoothes that out.
