They were much better days . people have forgotten what makes them happy. There wasn't the money about, but it made people look after things until they wore out. It is a lovely interesting house.Thankyou.

I fell in love with James Herriot in the first five chapters of All Creatures Great and Small. Loved his gentle attitude toward all the animals. How insightful and caring he was about the people. Descriptions of the land were poetry.
I was hired by a vet when I said by way of explaining "no experience, but I read All Creatures....." Turned out I'd was hired by a vet whose personality and caring attitude echoed my admiration of Dr. Herriot. Top in the best moments of my life.
      Great video. Thanks 😊

Never knew he was a lifelong Sunderland supporter. Great author, vet, and the TV series will always remind me of an England long gone but not forgotten.

If you its best when the schools are not on holiday and to get there as soon as they open, that way you can have a proper look around as it can get quite busy. I have been twice and its a great museum.

I don't know how true to life the series was but I think back then life was simpler, not counting a world war that is.

@@WelshRob1964 that was a mannequin? He looked so real, unlike that lady in the waiting room with the Shi-Tzu on her lap.
