So sad indeed…ive been with the firefighter boys when i was a canteen vendor… their commitment are really real… even when they are eating n the alarm came, they need to run out n go for the rescue…they left their food n drinks…i am so proud of them…fighting n terbaik…
So sad..young and obviously a bubbly, delightful chap. RIP dear hero.

Somebody got to be accountable for his death. HDB firefighting is a routine ops and one that CDA trains its trainees for. You are telling me he can’t just rush out of the unit when he’s unwell? Where was his buddy? Did somebody checked the equipment properly after roll call? What a needless death. The public deserves to know what exactly transpired on that fateful day.
Flame me all you want if you think I’m being insensitive but I’m speaking as a former SCDF serviceman who takes pride in my zero-accident zero-injury record for the men under my charge and more importantly, as a father to a son who will be serving his nation when his time comes. I don’t think any parent in the world deserves to go through what Edward’s parents is going through.

Precisely! my first thought was why was a teenager sent out to be the first in the frontline to put out blazing fire. Where were his seniors? How much experience can a teenager has to put out fire in frontline? Rest in peace Sgt Edward.

Bro majority of the firefighters were NSF and all still young.. it is required for 18yo singapore men to go for NS.. same like SAF if got war also the YOUNG soldiers need to go and protect the country. If never go kena charge
