Once you get past the craze of SUVs and realise that you need a sedan's cabin space and aerodynamics without being unwieldy in city traffic, there are few cars better than Glanza/Baleno. My first gen Glanza has been smooth and tension-free with regular Toyota service. The acceleration is faster and shift are seamless in CVT compared to this second-gen AMT version. The K12 engine is so sweet that sometime I wish they had given the paddle-shifters in the CVT gen; if not for city traffic, the manual is an easy recommendation. My first gen Glanza's comfort could've been better, but the stiff suspension provides amazing handling on good roads and twisties. Upgrade to 205/55 R16 from current 195/55 R16 stock rubber to enhance the comfort and grip.
I own. Gear shift is smooth. Highway stability 👌🏻. Upto 120 km/hr very easy and feel confident. 20 km/l mileage city. Only issue is ground clearance. Front bumper has lot of bottom scratches. Clutch butter smooth. No rattling noise at all. Looks super. Glanza S has all necessary features.
Breaks not upto the mark. City drive is fun.
@@sanmaxsan I face same issue in my city. I used Roger shocked absorber polymer pads in shocker coil springs n robber bush in rear side to up by shockers by 4 inch. In front side used alluminium bush to increase in hight of engine bay. Almost one year pass without facing any problem
Also night drive with its led is completely amazing, even a segment above car cannot compete with MS led light in terms of spread and focus

Glanza G is VFM. It's more expensive than Baleno but diamond cut alloys and warranty makes it a worthy compared to Baleno.
Plus Glanza is a good looking vehicle and feels a bit premium as well.
This is my opinion and it might vary based your taste.
I do agree, Glanza G is the most value for money. It has almost all the necessary features and no regrets. One thing that I miss is Cruise Control. Else its a good deal.

There are high chances that Honda Amaze might get an update cause there are few features that are top notch and on the other hand feels like they are out dated.
Consider i20 Sportz if you are not concerned about the milega else go with Altroz or Glanza

Tata Nexon. 1.2 Turbo will give you nice punch and power on highway rides. Just that you have to go with low trim as your budget is a bit tight. OR check with Altroz Turbo.

I compared Baleno, Swift and Glanza and finally went for Swift due to better driving feel.. but the dual tone interiour of Glanza looks so nice and airy compared to my Swift..

I would like to highlight 1.2 litre engine is only good for city where rpm is low and under 2000 all the time in 5th gear at speed of 60 to 80 as you cross 80 kms/hr on highway or more rpm goes above 2000 due to 5 gears and efficiency takes a hit it’s not as fuel efficient as in city most people don’t notice this. I have seen this on Breeza company has tuned engine for city conditions more than highway engine comes under stress. after speed of 100 km/ hr or more

With all due respect Gagan sir, i differ on the views presented here.
1. In the 1.2L NA premium hatchback category, the benchmark engine is Honda's legendary iVTech. As a user and industry expert, I'm sure you'd agree that Jazz's engine is superior to K-series in power delivery, performance at higher rpms and iVtech's ability to redline...
2. Coming to the gearbox, Jazz's CVT is far superior to AMT offered in Baleno/Glanza
3. Jazz comes with Sports mode, and performance is exhilarating...
4. Paddle shifters - Honda Jazz has this absolute GEM of a feature since atleast 7+ years now....Baleno/Glanza doesn't offer this as far as I know. Paddle shifters in Automatics are an absolute bliss and provide race-car like feeling for ordinary folks like me.
4. Jazz comes with 4-star safety rating and it's structure is rated "stable"... Baleno got 3-star for previous model, though current model is untested
5. Ride comfort and stability - My brother owns a Baleno, but ever time we hit the highway it's the Jazz we take. Our aged parents find Jazz more comfortable, especially in the rear seat.
It's very sad that Indian customers never really appreciated Honda's Jazz, and, Honda decided to discontinue it.
All the points agreed and are now available in Amaze plus the bigger boot. Definitely the best overall better car

I feel Tata Punch's suspension, build quality and space management makes it more vfm for both highways and hills.
But it needs a smoother engine.
Engine is very important. Choose wisely
Never going to buy a Tata car. After the car is out of the showroom the service experience is absolutely rubbish. Also the resale value on yearly basis suffers a deep fall.

With your usage - Altroz XE Plus Diesel can be great pick. Just to add on if you go with CNG - will be required to refill like every 3rd day making it a cumbersome process to make so many frequent visit for CNG in a month

I own Glanza 2022. Baleno is same. People won’t respect if you own Altroz, it’s just the brand name. Altroz is good car. Go for Glanza or Baleno.
Pls note ground clearance issue. It will scratch on bumps, uneven concrete roads, big stones on road. If you live in city may not be a big issue

Buy car that brings smile in your face. Don't fall for fake respect. Baleno is fun to drive with spacious cabin.. But if your area has off road kind of road go for car with good ground clearance.

Whoever drive baleno/ glanza cannot complaint about its engine, gear and clutch. Easy to drive car in city and average is amazing. 4 stroke engine is far better than 3 stroke one's. As compared to 3 stroke engine, there is no vibration and no lagging in initial gears. I love the engine noise while revving. Value for money car.

Instead of Heads Up Display they should give Dashcam like in Exter. Anyways only engine won't save us if somehow meet with an accident so they should focus on structural safety aspect too. I didn't liked it's seats. More towards softer side which aren't good for long distance commuting. We need such a car from VW or Honda. Neither it gives any premium feel like i20 gives from inside. Selection of materials for fit and finish is better of Hyundai than Suzuki
