Gokaiger is a special anniversary Sentai Series that gives homage to past Sentai Series. They have the ability to change and borrow the powers of the past Super Sentai Teams that's why they change a lot. The series also brings back the actors of the past Sentai Series (which the Power Rangers failed to miserably)... and they still look amazing even if they aged.
The show started of with 5 members form other planets when they went to earth to find the ultimate treasure of the universe because they are space pirates on earth they found a sixth sliver ranger witch joined them but before the zangyack space empire tried to take over earth but all 35 super sentai teams joined up and defeated but when they did they lost there powers to transform and there powers became keys called ranger keys that the Gokaiger can use but those keys were landed in different planets that the Gokaiger had to find and go to Earth for the treasure [Gosh Dang!!!!]
Super Sentai is story of 5 color heroes teams (except 5th Season @1:57 Sun Vulcan (1981) is have only 3 Rangers and no female) @3:36 From 16th Season Zyuranger (1992) onward , They added 6th Rangers to The show After that almost of Sentai will have 6 Rangers , Start with 5 members and 6th comes later around ep.10+ Gokaiger (2011) is The 35th Sentai Anniversary Season. If you wonder why they started as 5 core member teams and 1 additional member, I'll give you whats going on inside the franchise in details (I believe I already said this before) Anyway; - In Hikari Sentai Maskman (Laser Squadron Maskman in Philippines), X1 Mask is the 1st prototype 6th Ranger however is just a expiremental prototype because it only appeared in 1 episode until.... - In Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, (Mighty Morphin Power Ranger in america) the green ranger DragonRanger is now became a traditional first 6th Ranger prototype. As I said before in your previous video reaction, the reason I can't recommend you to watch Gokaiger its because of this gimmick, they can change into past sentai suits, returning actors from their respective shows, and some of the episodes were tribute to the past season. You won't understand whats going on. Oh BTW the american counterpart of this series (Power Ranger Super Megaforce) is a complete 1000% trash
Additional Info: The meaning of "6th Ranger" is when a person joins the Core Teams (sometimes they started as 3 teams) in a later episode. In a magical girl genre, Ojamajo Doremi and Sailormoon (produced by Toei Animation and the girl version of super sentai) also did the 6th ranger concept...specially one of the important magical girl series that toei animation ever did is none other than Pretty Cure (Precure for short) is one of the most iconic magical girl of all time each series started as 2 or 3 or 4 core teams (sometimes 5) then in later episode they added a new member as a 6th Ranger Cure
