Excellent upload, gives a great insight into the Metrolink system, and shows interesting cross city workings pre the opening of Victoria to St Peters Square. What it does show is a lot of rain, and today is certainly no exception! Did anyone else notice in the very last few seconds of the video, that monged out of his mind spice head who walked straight into the side of the tram which he bounced off? Useful for insurance purposes?
29:25 That's strange for a tram to be going past and even triggering a railway level crossing, makes me wonder if part of Manchester's tram network shares the same railway lines as the trains going past?
I commute on the altrincham line daily, because of the compact residential area the train line merges into one, parallel to the tram line that also merges into one. The crossing is there because of the train line next to it. They just have to lower the barrier or alert them in some way so I guess it’s just easier to lower it for the trams
Love Manchester with all my heart and when I hear that chooing noise, it really shows me that I'm actually there

Brilliant, love Metrolink and this is a great tribute.
I love the 2 horns those teams have... Hi from manchester
The old green and white ones have been retiring and now it’s only the yellow and grey ones
Great quality video - nice and smooth.

And to think when first proposed the trams would have been bright orange!

Nottingham trams are better
I agree. I drive these and they are slower than the Nottingham Ultra Light Rails
