Couldn’t agree more about allowing yourself a break! I never knew how strong mom guilt was. But now that I’m a mom, guilt can can take over when I am doing anything not revolving around my little human. A timer is such a great idea!!
The mom guilt is real & it’s so strong! But it’s also irrational 95% of the time because we’re all such great mamas! The timer helps me put into perspective that there’s 24 hours in every day & I deserve 2 of those hours to enjoy myself 🩷
Newbie is such a cutie pie old man 🐶 Relaxing is something I struggle with sometimes because my brain goes a mile per minute, but I've been working on it! 💕
I’m from Missouri, but lived in Arizona for 10 years, now back in Missouri. Something I learned was before I lived in a different climate, I used to look at people on the west coast wearing thick winter coats in 40 degree weather and I thought, oh please it’s like 10 degrees here. Then we moved to AZ and I totally got it. 125 degree summers, when it gets down to 40 and 50, it’s cold!! I never judge people anymore when they talk about how they are so cold or it’s so hot because to them it is!! lol, so all that to say I see you, I hear you and I feel for you no matter what temp you are dealing with right now!!
Checking out early because I'm avoiding all Onyx Storm spoilers including final thoughts, so I'll need to come back once I'm finished 😊 But I do agree 100% with what you said at the midpoint. I've given up trying to remember which professor/flyer/leader is who 😂 I also usually struggle with epic adventure, but I'm so invested in the main crew that I feel like I'm just hanging around on dragonback along for the ride 🥰
I don’t blame you! Avoiding spoilers should be an Olympic sport at this point! & even spoiler free opinions influence me sometimes I do the same & avoid! 🩷
Haha, I hear you on the cold negative vibes. I have a condition called Raynaud's Syndrome and I skip the first stage of frost bite. 🤣My husband on the other hand can and does wear shorts and tank tops all year round.
So glad to see someone else enjoy The Fine Print! I had a great time with it too. I know so many people don’t like it but to me it was a fun time. I’m glad to see you enjoyed Onyx Storm. Unfortunately I had a different reading experience and gave it 3 stars. I had a lot of problems with it but there were some good parts.
I really enjoyed it! Quick & easy! 🎢 Honestly, I totally understand people's criticisms of Onyx Storm - my higher rating is definitely partially swayed by my love for the characters 🩷
I just hauled the Dreamland Billionaire series. I found the third at a thriftstore for 20 cents, then got the other two from thriftbooks. I am excited to read them soon. 🦋
I am a bit older, so never did the Harry Potter thing, but Empyrean series is what started my love of Romantasy, so I feel it has a special place in my heart too.
I personally wasn't confused when I started Onyx Storm, but I read Iron Flame right before. I've seen others have the same feeling as you, and it really does seem just to be the length of time causing people to have that opinion.
I’m in the weeds with Onyx Storm, the first 15 chapters are very confusing and I’ve seen many people agree that it is even after rereading Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. You aren’t alone. 😅
I'm avoiding reviews and just looking at star ratings🤣for Onyx Storm but I am thinking it is a 5 star since I am 61% through and enjoying my time. I am only able to read it before bed to focus on it versus an easier read during the day after doing activities with my almost 3 year old in March 🥲
I gave Onyx Storm five stars, but that's because I would read a novella with Xaden and Violet, and probably give it a five star. 😂 They are my roman empire. LOL.
So sad you didn't like Strange the Dreamer! One of my favourite books ever. It's so interesting how people have such different tastes in writing! Love your videos
It's so interesting how one person's 1 star book could be someone's ♾️ star book! Those are actually my FAVORITE discussions to have because I always end up learning so much from the other person's perspective! 🫶🏼
Thanks for the Onyx Storm review. Once I get around to reading it based on your review I feel like it will work for me because I find exposition annoying and tedious. I would much rather be left in confusion then read through paragraphs of details/backstories that the characters in the book would never ever actually think about or ever explain.
The way you described Laini Taylor is exactly how I feel about High Fantasy. I struggle with books with a lot of world building, but I love tomantasy, because I love the characters and the romance and storylines. I don't like the dragging out of world building, I want to know what's going on with the characters.
I am in Canada and always joke I was not born to live here. 😂 My parenta immigrated to the wrong country. 😂 I read something recently that made me laugh because this kid was joking about why their parents would live somewhere that the weather could harm their child. 😂 I get the not made for cold weather. LOL.
Once hearing about Strange the Dreamer from you.... I would say don't read When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A Parker. I've heard similar things about her writing. It's very descriptive, specifically about blades of grass, the sky, etc

Newton is adorable and you never have to apologize for his cuteness 🥰 And I love your advice for how to relax when there's a ton of stuff to do! 😊

I LOVED The Dreamland Billionaires Series!
The Fine Print was such a good time! 🎢
I really love your sweaters that you wear in this video especially the black one.
I really enjoy your videos a great deal 🤗
Aw I'm so glad you enjoy the videos! It's so nice to hear there's someone else out there that loves my funny sweaters as much as I do 🧸
I hate the winter too! I’m already always cold I need warmth!😂
HATE the winter! 🥶 My body doesn't function unless it's 70 or above!

I have family from FL & when they come up here when it's in the 50s, they're in sweatshirts & winter jackets while my family is all in shorts 😂
You called onyx storm iron storm when you first picked it up. Made me laugh
Hahahaha I feel like I call it "Onyx Flame" later in the video too - listen for it 👂🤣
Can we talk about your sweater with the cups of coffee and shakes! I LOVE THAT!
It’s one of my Oodies & I’m OBSESSED with it! ☕️ 💙

I actually typically run hot - but I want it warm outside! 🤣
Go for it. Name it whatever you want and I'll still watch it
Aww! I love that you're always willing to listen to me complain about winter! 🥶
I count every page in a graphic novel even if it just had pictures
Maybe I should have!

Loved the fine print, need to reread the first two so I can read the 3rd in the series
I could see them being quick, fun rereads! ☺️
I really enjoyed it! Quick & easy! 🎢 Honestly, I totally understand people's criticisms of Onyx Storm - my higher rating is definitely partially swayed by my love for the characters 🩷
Well explaining your first day of reading onyx storm you called it onyx flame. Which made me laugh again
Hahaha! I think I called it like 5537280 different things throughout the video...brain is mush 🧠
I just hauled the Dreamland Billionaire series. I found the third at a thriftstore for 20 cents, then got the other two from thriftbooks. I am excited to read them soon. 🦋
What a great deal! I'll be moving onto the second one this month! 🎢
🦋🦋The fact I have read all of the graphic novels is hilarious and yay to a mood read vlog!!
That's awesome! They were cute!
I am a bit older, so never did the Harry Potter thing, but Empyrean series is what started my love of Romantasy, so I feel it has a special place in my heart too.
I could totally see that! The Empyrean series is amazing! 🐉 (still highly recommend HP though!)
With graphic novels, I usually count like 10-20% of the pages towards my page goal because I read them so much faster than normal :)
Exactly! That's a great idea! I don't read many of them but I think I'll do this moving forward - thank you!
The first 15 chapters of Onyx Storm felt like the most intense gaslighting ever. lol I had NO idea what was going on.
Hahahah! I'm dying because this is the PERFECT description 🤣🤣
I personally wasn't confused when I started Onyx Storm, but I read Iron Flame right before. I've seen others have the same feeling as you, and it really does seem just to be the length of time causing people to have that opinion.
I definitely think you’re right! After I watched the long form recap I had a much better handle on the plot! 🐉
I’m in the weeds with Onyx Storm, the first 15 chapters are very confusing and I’ve seen many people agree that it is even after rereading Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. You aren’t alone. 😅
The first half of that book was ROUGH! It defeated my need for understanding after the first 7 chapters & I just decided to vibe with it 🤣
I'm avoiding reviews and just looking at star ratings🤣for Onyx Storm but I am thinking it is a 5 star since I am 61% through and enjoying my time. I am only able to read it before bed to focus on it versus an easier read during the day after doing activities with my almost 3 year old in March 🥲
Prioritize the kiddos, I get it! 💕 Onyx Storm was a 4.25 ⭐️ for me!
I gave Onyx Storm five stars, but that's because I would read a novella with Xaden and Violet, and probably give it a five star. 😂 They are my roman empire. LOL.
They really are amazing 🤩
I loved The Fine Print too. I love watching your videos because I find a lot of our likes are similar, so I get awesome recs. ❤
Aw I'm so glad! Finding like minded readers is always the best! 🩵
Again every time you accidently call onyx storm iron storm I laugh
Tons of laughs in this video then! 🤣
So sad you didn't like Strange the Dreamer! One of my favourite books ever. It's so interesting how people have such different tastes in writing! Love your videos

Also after reading chapter 20 on onyx storm I wanted to stay there with the smut and not continue but I needed to know what happens
The smut kept me interested during the sloggier parts 🤣
I'm so thankful I don't get burnt out from fantasy romance I think for me it is the author's writing style for burnt out then anything else.
I get that too! 🤣
I'm on chapter thirteen right now. There are times I'm confused about what the heck is going on. I'm still loving it.
That was me during 65% of the book! 🤣

I am the exact same way! Needlessly wordy writing & over description irritates me! 🤣

Yes! I am a much more character driven reader than epic plot 😌

Hahaha! I am not made for any weather below 75! ☀️
Haha, Laini Taylor is a no for me I just want to read to not think not having to think too hard about what I am reading. 😆
I fear she is a no for me as well 😞
I was going to ask you what you thought about the end of chapter 38 depending how far you got in this video
Haha! I don't even remember that exact chapter 🤔
Once hearing about Strange the Dreamer from you.... I would say don't read When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A Parker. I've heard similar things about her writing. It's very descriptive, specifically about blades of grass, the sky, etc
Ugh! I think you’re going to ultimately be right, which makes me so sad because I want to like it! 😩
@sheisbookedandbusy I'm just intimidated by the size of it
With or without your handsome boys you are a Disney adult
You are so right! 🏰
Book after onyx storm will come out in 2027
After I finished Onyx Storm, I went down a rabbit hole of information & theories about the next one 🤣
