  • This is my second MIDI cover of the band NEK!. This is Reigen Shoujo ("Ghost Girl").
Yet another quick detour from Band-Maid, but back with Band-Maid later this week.
    #NEK! #NEKIBAND #NEKI_BAND #REIGENGIRL
Here are the translated lyrics for this song:
    "Crazy hustle and bustle
    Feelings of oblivion
    Dancing in a shady town
There's nothing cute about this girl
    Broken nails, scratched wounds
    Everything is dyed red
None of my memories can save me
Hey, God, take me away in chaos!
The sadness permeates through my heart and soul
I wouldn't mind if someone destroyed my sadness
And the pain that came with it
    The ghost girl was crying
She turned into a rose blooming on the asphalt
That only the night sky could see
The scab she peeled off as a prank
    Gradually became a habit
I wish sadness would work the same way
I wish to be a butterfly
    Flying between the buildings
    Not heading anywhere
Just tell me the meaning of life and where I belong
Hey, God, show me the way to dark
I'm scratching at the definition of existence
    I'm crying out for love
With all my wounds, despair is nothing
The ghost girl had a dream
A bright future in this city
    Nobody knows
    Take me away in chaos
Show me the way to dark
    Hey, I understand
We, who are nobodies, set out on a journey
    With only faint expectations
    And we were let loose
The light was permeating my heart and soul
I wouldn't mind if someone destroyed my sadness
and the pain that came with it
    The ghost girl shined
She became one of the nameless stars
That only the night sky could see
    Everything disappeared"

I think all of us are hoping for WAY more content from this band. Thanks Dean, that was cool! 🙂

Yeah. There's a base level of talent there that is promising. And they're only 17 to 23 years old!

@@DeanF_MIDI It would be so satisfying if they do make it big and we found them now. They need a "Thrill" moment! Hahaha

@@80mtn They need someone like Band-Maid to give them a boost by letting them open for them on a tour date or two.

@@DeanF_MIDI Oh man! I never thought of that! That would be great. Remember 'Shadow Clic'? I still don't quite understand how that happened. That didn't seem to fit. NEK! does, though.

@@DeanF_MIDI Actually I think they could be a foundation for a larger band. Add in a Keyboard player, and a woodwind/strings player, and I think they could expand their sound.

Thanks Dean I think this band warrants plenty of attention! Just hope they can progress in the vein of BAND-MAID - after all they have a great grounding in covering some of their songs. I have ordered the CD from CDJapan and look forward to listening. Wow thanks for the translation I would never have realised these dark lyrics were in such an uplifting sounding song 🤔

      What do you mean?
If you're talking about which VSTs and virtual amps I used..... I tweaked them to try to sound more like the actual band as much as I could. But for Kanade, I did basically use the "MISA" setup that I've been using recently. Just has a great tone to it.
For the vocals, I augmented the Jump Brass VST with some orchestral strings to soften it for Hika, since she has a softer tone than Saiki.
The drum kit was basically Akane's with some tweaking of the ride cymbal because Cocoro uses one with a bit of a different sound to it than her.
