Swenson is definitely Mr Chameleon to me but I think Weber did a good job and it was a fun episode.

Originally broadcast on August 3, 1949. I wonder who played "LORENZO JONES" (a long-running Hummert daytime serial on NBC) while Karl Swenson was on vacation? 🤔

Apparenttly, Howard Claney was also on vacation; CBS staff announcer Warren Sweeney filled in for him, too.

Webber is what I thought I wanted out of Mr. Chameleon. More natural, doesn’t yell at everyone or fly of the handle right away. He does a fine job in the role. It’s just that Swenson is so much more entertaining. This was a case of both “be careful what you hope for” and “don’t try to second guess the most successful radio producers of all time.”
