Thank you, you explain the WHY and that is so fundamental to having genuine understanding of a subject. I watched so many videos, very popular ones too, and you're the only one that really explained the logic reasoning behind this instead of just showing us the equation. For other people watching this, I ran into this mistake, at 9:23 of the video he shows Method 3. I thought he was adding the entire 3 layer equation, I had to watch that part more times than I care to admit to realize hes only adding 1 to ONLY the 1's complement row, not both rows. So it's 01101 + 1. I kept thinking it was 10010 + 01101 + 1 which threw me for a loop because I kept getting a different answer than what was shown. Hoping to save anyone that maybe makes that same mistake the headache.
For the 2's complement there is another way if we want to stick with decimal values. 10100 First let's do some definitions. 00000 is defined as 0 and 10000 is defined as -16. Now we take the number without the sign index value. 00100 which is 4 And then we just add -16 + 4 = -12 So 10100 = -12. What I like about it is that this feels kind of less like magic. We set 2 definitions and then just translate the other values and add it to them. For example: 8 bit: 10000000 = -128 7-bit as: 1000000 = -64 6-bit as: 100000 = -32 5-bit as: 10000 = -16 and so on. But I think in regards to speed the method 3 is of course still faster. Since you do not need to think. You can just write bits down and then translate it to decimal and push a negative sign before the value.
This video was I like method 2 and 3 for 1s C and 2s C respectively ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The projection was good, how was is made(app) Thank you , I am wait for your reply!!! 👌👌🥺🥺🥺🥺
But sir one question method 3 you give it to home work right and I am applying method 3 question no. 1. 11011 applying method 3 the answer is 00101. Why sir right answer is 00011 please sir tell me 😮😮

Thank you so much for your response. You are from where and what do you study?
Thank you (from Australia)! This is the first video I have found that explains this topic is a straight-forward manner 😀
You're out there saving lives sir❤

10100
First let's do some definitions.
00000 is defined as 0 and 10000 is defined as -16.
Now we take the number without the sign index value.
00100 which is 4
And then we just add -16 + 4 = -12
So 10100 = -12.
What I like about it is that this feels kind of less like magic. We set 2 definitions and then just translate the other values and add it to them.
For example:
8 bit: 10000000 = -128
7-bit as: 1000000 = -64
6-bit as: 100000 = -32
5-bit as: 10000 = -16
and so on.
But I think in regards to speed the method 3 is of course still faster. Since you do not need to think. You can just write bits down and then translate it to decimal and push a negative sign before the value.
