    Hi Andy,
    Watching with great interest. Its amazing just how much current these packs can unleash. Especially when you don't expect it. Not sure about putting the pack in parallel with lead acid battery's. Both have different discharge rates and characteristics. Stand by with the CO2. Cheers.

      Hi, it seems to work, lead acid at rest is about 49 / 50v and lithium phosphate about 52. No smoke and smoother power, who'd have thought it, cheers

    Nothing wrong here its a 15s they just have the packs in packs to fit the case.
    Ita just a 15s2p configuration but the typical design for lithium ion would be 14s2p and lfp 16 or 15 is used.

    Did I miss a bit Andy ? What did you fix to stop the alarm light coming on - did it fix itself maybe ? Always a little worrying when things do that....
    The numbers of cells thing - it needs to be 15S to get 48volts nominal, so I'm not sure how else they could have
    divided them up, other than 4 - 4 - 4 - 3, unless they did 3cells x 5 groups or 5 cells x 3 groups. Perhaps they had those cases already manufactured for some other power bank design, and they happened to have 4 bays, so they were stuck with confusing Andy with 4 - 4 - 4 - 3 ! :o)
    Be interesting to see what these power banks do, and whether they hold some charge or not. Cheers, Dave

      Dave, yes it's all very interesting. I think the later batteries are 3 cells with 5 groups and maybe this format was all pert of the r&d process. The voltage is interesting and sort of matches in with lead acid. These sit at 52v when fully charged but not charging, my main lead acid sits at about 50v, so this battery takes the main load to start with. These will go down to 40v and when linked with a big lead acid will never do so. That looks like the reasoning for the 15 S. The alarm flashes for a few seconds every time the unit is switched on and then moves over to work mode. there's some learning going on here, cheers

    did the re solder in bank four on the BMS allow it to switch to charge again nice , there spread across the 4 units then as i dont see any green caps in there do you so 4 been the controller then been last in the line or first depending how you view the flow of electrons

    • @TheInfoworks
      @TheInfoworks  Рік тому

      Hi, no resolding needed, number 4 is just built with 3 groups of pouches so the the battery voltage is similar to lead acid. I'm experimenting with using these in parallel with my main lead acid bank, cheers

    Also Andy, is that charger of yours really doing 31 amps at about 48 v ? That's some charger if so !

      @TheInfoworks  Рік тому

      Dave, yes it's a switch mode and that output is correct, no wonder the fan runs all the time. They came out of a big old off grid generator / inverter system and there were 3 in parallel. very handy, cheers

    It's a 15s 48v battery, if they had 16s it would be 51.2v battery

    Hi Andy, apologies if I missed something but what was the fix or does it just need a little time for the red led to stop flashing?

    • @TheInfoworks
      @TheInfoworks  Рік тому

      Hi, David, yes it just needed a good charge. Red and green LEDs are a mystery to me being partially colour blind, so I did not notice. The other unit I have had a blown fuse hidden on the board, easy fix once identified, cheers

    Hi Andy, i have a new pylontech us3000c battery which has the same problem as you have. Turn on and goes into alarm. I have the battery for over a year and i think it has gone into over discharge mode as it was never charged. I have a dc power supply that i can set to 50V and max 5.2 amp. How long would you expect to charge battery with these settings. I have the negative lead removed from board and charging the cells directly. Any help would be appreciated

    • @TheInfoworks
      @TheInfoworks  3 місяці тому

      Hi, you only need to get to about 45v and then if things are going to work they should. Be careful not to go over volts or you will damage those cells. Worth checking if each of the packs show sufficient voltage, cheers

      @@TheInfoworkshi Andy, checked the pack voltages, 3 packs reading at 16.52V, 16.44V and 16.33V. problem must be PCB board? Thanks for your help

      @@TheInfoworks got her charging now I hope. Swapped 2 and 3 battery pack leads on the board as there was some LEDs on around the second lead. When I swapped them back the LEDs turned off and so did the alarm led on the front of battery. She has one green led on the front flashing and she is taking 100W from the charger. Just hope now that more green led lights will flash on the front as she takes more charge. Thanks for your help
