CAN interface is terminated by 120ohm between the hi and lo terminal. That is from CAN node to another CAN node. You can not connect CAN to RS485. Those two are serial ports but they have different communication protocols.
I apologize to you on my side of misunderstanding. I read manual of up5000 and it does support daisy chaining. I think this is going to be like these in ADD dip switches assuming u(UP)=0 and d(DOWN)=1 :master A & B dip switches must be uudu and master C(last chain) uuuu. If still failing, reduce baud rate therefore, master A & B dip switches must be uudd and master C(last chain) uuud.
@@drsolar Hi thank you do much. Our problem was the same. We added some standard utp cables and there it was. Even it worked with 3 sets to the hub directly as described in the manual.
RS485 is simply not can, it will not work. So try connect from MC(Master C) A/Can to MB A/Can and MB B/RS485 to MA B/RS485. I did not hear about this wiring scheme anywhere by now, so would try the normal connection scheme. Please connect all A/Can from MA, MB, MC to the Hub and set MA Dip switch 2 on, MB Dip switch 3 on, MC Dip switches 2 and 3 on. Watch out on the numbering, if th switches are soldered in ther wrong way 1 is 4, 4 is 1, 2 is 3 and 3 is 2 respectively.
Hey mate, not sure if you're still having trouble.. we had a similar issue & found that on the master battery on bank 1 which connects to the LV Hub - remove wires from pins 1, 2 & 3 on this RJ45 cable. This solved our very similar issue where one out of 2 banks were being detected only - before we resolved the cable issue... Also we found the dip switches on the LV hub should all be down except for the last one on the right hand side should be up. Cheers mate
Good morning from Lagos. Thank you for watching and commenting. I like the community that we belong to. We try to help one another. Our initial cables had pin 1 2 and 3 removed and it did not work. We went to regular rj45 cables and we had communications between the battery banks. Then we used the the same cables between the Hub and master 1. We had to restart the batteries a few times before we got the two lights on the LV Hub to come on. We should visit the comment about the dip switch. We are getting some flickering from the BMS display on the inverter. Thank you so much for your help.

I see your problem now after several replays in your videos. Master A dip switch address assignment must be set to 0100 and its CAN cable should be plugged to port 1 of the hub. Master B dip switch address assignment must be set to 0010 and its CAN cable should be plugged to port 2 of the hub. Master C dip switch address assignment must be set to 0110 and its CAN cable should be plugged to port 3 of the hub. Do you have a complete schematic for your project and share it in video. I saw your struggles and been watching your videos anonymously for more than a year.
Good morning. Thank you for watching and commenting. For the US3000 and 2000 that is what the manual suggests. The Up5000 is different. The set up we used is what is in the manual. I will try your suggestion. At this point I will try anything.
If it was me I would unplug it all and start with one battery then add the rest one at a time to see if they were accepted eventually you will find the battery which is configured wrong.
hi, do your master batteries have different ADD addresses? then the CAN ports of the master batteries must go to the LV-HUB. LV-HUB PIN 6 must be ON.

You can]t do two protocols. It is one or the other. How old is your Deye inverter?The cable for the UP5000 C is different. Pay attention to your cable

On the Up5000 it is not necessary.

The wiring and current dip switch setting work without the hub. Master A can turn all the batteries on and off. It just does not work with the Hub.

Additional comment ,you cannot daisy chain CAN bus from masters C to B to A to Hub as there were no terminating resistors in its both ends.
Pylontech does not mention resistors in the manual.
If it was me I would unplug it all and start with one battery then add the rest one at a time to see if they were accepted eventually you will find the battery which is configured wrong.
Did that many times. The A master battery can turn all the batteries on and off
on the switches according to battery arrangement
We have been following the manual and we are stumped. The only switch it says to touch is on the first master
