When I make instant mashed potatoes, I don’t just follow the directions. I melt American cheese slices and butter in the water and use evaporated milk. My family , especially my Grandkids don’t like anyone else’s mashed potatoes. I don’t make it more than a couple of times a month and on holidays because mashed potatoes aren’t the healthiest thing you can eat but it’s definitely one of the best warm, comfort foods you can make. ♥️

We made this exactly like your recipe for my kids birthday party. Everyone loved it. When I tasted it I wished we’d made another batch. Reminds me of KFC as a kid too. By the way, enjoy listening to you as you cook. My wife says you remind her of the Cajun Cook. Thanks for sharing your recipes!

I liked the original Famous Bowls with rice better, I made the once fried the chicken fingers then added everything else. . Pretty good, I just wish it had the KFC gravy.
I’m not sure if your from Louisiana or not but I had a really good friend that was from lake Charles Louisiana and you look a lot like him. His name was JB Daigle we where in the military together in the early 90’s. But the food looks so good. I’m getting hungry. 😂
I would change one thing: Leave the corn out, as it is very high in sugar. That much corn combined with the potatoes would make it almost a "no deal " for anyone who is diabetic or pre-diabetic.
Follow up to my above post: I am NOT diabetic, but my Dad was. As such, I am used to taking note of sugar content in most foods. Many years ago, my Dad nearly went into a diabetic coma from overeating sweet corn. His doctor told my Mom not to ever let my Dad eat more than 2 small ears of corn at a sitting. A fact I have never forgotten.

No nutrition in that guy. Maybe if you eat that once in a blue moon but I hope people don't feed their kids this because it's just not that wholesome. But I understand that a lot of people are looking for quick dinners just to feed their family and get them full but they obviously aren't worried much about nutrition at all. You can use the video as inspiration to make the same dish by using all homemade foods. Peel/mash real potatoes. Bread/cook your own popcorn chicken. Make your own gravy. Use your own home grown/canned corn.

Before KFC was sold to Pepsico, their gravy was good! Now their mashed potatoes taste like paste. The gravy is blah.
I would make something very close to this, I used leftover roasted chicken, when I was pregnant with my first 2. They are now 38 and 35.
