  • I'm currently working on making a small Blacksmith workshop so i can start doing some knife making and other metal projects. One of the things on my ''Todo'' list was to clean and secure my anvil so it doesn't move when i'm working on it.
    Thanks for watching!

Thx for the video. Instead off beeswax you can use WD40.

Ebel-Jan Schepers thought of doing that but wanted to try and keep it natrual. Thank you.

Doing it natural and enviromentalfriendly is always a good thing. So am I looking for a alternative for epoxy for glueing the handles. Epoxy is nasty stuff, but it is glueing like hell :-)

Ebel-Jan Schepers have you ever tried pine pitch mixed with charcoal dust. It makes a very strong glue.

Make N' Create a very good alternative for wood and metal is special linseed oil, in german „leinöl-firnis“ (I don’t know the english word). If you let it work one week on the material, it‘ll protect it very well. But you should keep attention and burn the rags with which the oil was in contact. They can enflame themselves!

I was thinking that Bees wax and Olive oil mixture might work. Maybe 50/50 .

Хорошая работа , единственное сначала сверлишь все отверстия а потом нарезаешь .

No it wasn’t. It was my father’s anvil. My father was an blacksmith from the old shipyard in Helsingør. He had this standing in his workshop for many years. I grow up with the sound of the ringing from the tapping between the strokes. My father made irons for caulking to a German company called toplicht. And did old signs etc.

why 103 kilos and not 104kg, 101kg or 102kg ? if it was lbs converted to kilo i would get it, but it say kg on it....why not keep it 100kg or 105 or 110kg? 103 is just weird :P

I also have an old Söderfors anvil. It has "146,5 kg" stamped into it, seems like they were pretty precise with the weight markings!
