I hasten to add, for the benefit of Dartmoor enthusiasts, that the 'drone type' images are in fact using a 360 camera on a 2.7m carbon pole (you can see it strapped. to my rucksack) - I have to point this out because the flying of drones isn't permitted with Dartmoor National Park. 👍

Another really informative and fun video on what has to be one of the best channels covering Dartmoor. Nice job Shamus! Your approach is spot on. It must take so much time to plan your videos, film, edit etc etc. But they come across brilliantly and I thoroughly enjoy them. Can't wait for the next instalment. I've watched this one a couple of times and just wanted to send you some positive feedback. How about covering some content on walking/hiking boots at some time in the future, I see your boots take quite a beating in the elements, so you must have some good tips and experience to share! Take care Shamus and stay safe. All the best, Pete :)

Not the colour tent I'd think of for a wild camp but there again you were on Dartmoor and wild camping is okay there. Nice to hear people who have knowledge of the places they go or share what they're learning as they go too; Petra is a lovely lady, what a born star. I've had German and Belgian Shepherds in the past, great dogs. I've not had a dog for some years now but I think I did I might go for a Jack Russell or something as lively and a similar size. Good luck for those going for the stove, I think I have quite enough now.
Bowland Forrest for me last week and it was a bit wild but that's whole point for me. I shall be out again (allegedly) - being in tier 3 now - I'm not sure it would be approved by the authorities, but i can't get or spread any virus when I'm nowhere near any other person for at least a mile. I have been on Dartmoor for a long time, I think I was wearing a heavy Bergen last time. Stay safe.

Thank you, Mark - to date I have been an advocate of green tents. To be honest, the reason I have this one is because I will be making videos throughout the wet and misty winter and red just adds a bit of colour to grey, cloudy, wet skies and grey granite. Wishing you well during your tier 3 episode - stay safe 👍😊🐶 woof from Petra.

Thank god other people understand the importance of upland peat bogs. If the townies have their way they will replant all the peat bogs in the Cambrians with trees in the belief they can carry on living as they do - at the expense of a diverse habitat.

Fascinating stuff... You're a fountain of interesting facts and general info. I've learned things about peat bogs I never knew before, such as their role in CO2 (I just thought they were a wet nuisance!). Also about the bronze age stones etc... Thank you. Perhaps sometimes you could put in a little map in a link so I can study your route? That bridge at the beginning, for example, I've never seen that before, and it looked difficult to find a way across that bleak featureless Moor.

So at night I wring my socks out and put dry ones on to sleep in. My trousers are lightweight synthetic, they dry quickly. I wear some thermals once I'm in the tent. Love all the facts you share. I’d love a Hilleberg too. Currently saving for a Soulo. Seeing Petra, I miss my dog 😢, but reminded of Blue Peter 😎

Thank you 😊 the Hilleberg tents come with a hefty price tag but the quality is superb. And... of course Petra is named after Peter Purves’ dog ... the childhood TV pet dog 🐶

Hi Stuart - that coffee is is very nice indeed, they have various blends, the bag is a filter and pours a couple of cups 😊👍🐶

@@outdoorsinspiration9284 that looks a coffee lovers solution, I’ve found your supplier, Brazilian or Guatemalan for me! I prefer a bit of body! Far lighter than most other pro solutions
