The FP20/30s' are indeed very gentle on film as is the DP75. I've ran old brittle triacetate prints on them that a Century SA or Westar would tear to shreds.
Hello there, Just got an fp20 that I need to rewire as every cable was cut when the projector was removed from the cinema. Would it be possible to have photos and details of the wiring from yours ? Thanks!
Good light is not easy. I am on my 2nd lamphouse now. Its 1000w. (screen: 12x5ft @ 22ft) My previous lamp was 400w. My current lamp is a halogen conversion of a xenon unit. Almost bright enough. Looking like a 3rd lamp coming. Next will be a real xenon lamp.
I'd be interested to know the lamphouse design? At home I currently use a modified 24v/250w Rank Tutor 2 as a light source. It works well up to 7-8 ft wide images but needs a separate lamp table. Yours looks so much tidier. Many thanks for sharing!
Excellent video. Those Kinotons are the best. So kind to film.
So smooth on take up and shut down.

I love 35mm films and other formats but, what is that black spot or box that appears on the screen when the movie ends in the 5:43? Good video?

It's easier and much less wear on your motor and switch if you simply rotate the mechanism by hand to set the intermittent.
Don't talk crap
It’s a real magic !!!
Isn't it just!

Sir, where from I get this type of light?
Its a 250w 24v Halogen A1/259
Sir, is this 24v 250w bulb sufficient to project CinemaScope films using Anamorphic lens?
Yes, but obviously not on a 50ft wide screen
It's very hard to beat a Kinoton!! I've got two PK60D's.
Hi Don. I should have appreciated it more when I had it, especially the slow feeding function.
I would recommend wearing cotton gloves when handling the film.
Get a life
Light source Details please??
