    If a publicly traded company chooses to outsource overseas to cut costs, it should start by outsourcing top-tier management positions
    like the CEO, CFO, and CTO. By saving millions paid to these executives, the company could preserve the jobs of many American workers,
    who, when gainfully employed, would contribute significantly more to the local economy than a small group of overpaid executives.
    Why is it acceptable to outsource someone else’s job but not theirs? For every CEO outsourced, the company could retain 10 employees
    whose spending on homes, goods, and services would have a far greater positive impact on the community.
    A CEO isn’t going to buy 10 homes or spend 10 times as much locally, so why not apply the same cost-cutting
    logic to their roles? Selectively protecting executives while sacrificing workers only exacerbates inequality and harms the economy in the long run.
    H1B program overall is good. There is an abuse component to it. However,outsource of the services sector should
    curtailed. When Elon got his H1B, the scale of outsourcing we know of today did not exit.

      True, the program has been diluted as some people tried to game the system as usual. The lottery and the role of consultants has also been a negative factor

    You missed the point by miles! The word cheap laborers or cheap labor used to refer to us Indians literally means we work for less in the respective fields compared to locals where the companies have to give high salaries to them. Overpopulation, lack of resources, pinching to shell out of corrupt system and meaningless competition is the reason for us being the cheap labour for the western world.
    So yes, we are cheap labour indeed! Instead of aggressive backlashing, let’s get into the grounds of reality and rethink why the world has this impression on us besides just jealousy! Thank you :)

      Hello Dr Ganguly, my sincere apologies. This comment of mine wasn’t intended to be posted on your video! There was one more “UA-cam short” video of a female UA-camr who was mocking the “Indians are cheap labour” comment by some Americans. I was indeed watching that video and thought I posted the comment over there, but since maybe I was watching this video of yours, it got posted here instead! Please acknowledge this comment of mine, so that I can delete the main comment with all due respect!
      So sorry sir! Apologies again! Great fan of your work - Your sincere subscriber 🙏🫶

      Yes social science is very important. Doing PhD in these areas is similar to other fields in usa. You will need to give GRE for top schools and ace it. You should have a decent gpa and good college. I will make a specific video. Meanwhile these videos will help

    Does admissions committee really bother about our long-term goals if we mention them in PhD SOP like what we will do after 5 to 10 years or even more?

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  9 днів тому

      Yes they do like to see goals which they think a PhD student should have.

      @Drganguli If someone writes casually that after PhD, he/she will go for multiple postdocs and ultimately land a faculty position, will it turn out to be a weak ending?

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  9 днів тому

      @ Yes one should have a clear goal like joining academia. In math that would be appreciated. In engineering it could be academia, or lab research scientist. These guys want to publish and so make good PhD students

    i would feel bad if they were diverse H1B applicants but its all electrical engineering and that's just not fair, they're tanking the salary and graduate chances for the past 5 years since covid, simply unfair. they're fine workers fine people but they've ruined the COMPANIES that hire all of us, they expect indentured servants now. respect to my competition but come tf on man 1billion people going and 75% of our H1B's go to that one country?? you're NOT THAT ADVANCED IM SORRY, you're just too cheap that it's genuinely destroying the economy, rules will change, be well
