I'm concerned at how much potato flesh Robert is removing as he "peels" those potatoes. Surely someone has invented a contraption with which one can peel them without wasting as much potato flesh.
I don’t know what kind of oven you have but I had to bake my potatoes for much longer than that! They eventually turned out okay but they needed about 55 minutes versus the 25 minutes you listed. Also, I took it up a notch and fried a couple of pieces of bacon and added the bacon fat to the butter (don’t try this at home kids or parents with health issues, Lol!). I crumbled the bacon up with the cheese when I topped the potatoes. YUM!
Just be prepared to cook them way longer than he says. 20 minutes to bake a whole potato is crazy to even think about. Usually takes around 50 minutes to an hour in my oven.
Peggy Morris not really it’s connected at the bottom and they don’t start opening up until 30-40 minutes of cooking. So for that initial time it’s like baking a whole potato.
You're wasting half of those beautiful potatoes..why not use a spud peeler... I must say the finished product looks delicious. 😋 I proably won't be able to eat, I'm being plagued by wasted potatoes. I'll only be able to eat 8, 9 maybe forcefully 10.potatoes..😉 Have a good day..I

I put a chopstick on either side of the potatoes before doing the hassle back cut to avoid going all the way through the potato.
