| Fried Egg With Sweet Potato Hash |
This recipe is three things: easy, simple, and nutritious. The combination of sweet potato, sautéed bacon, and onions makes a great throne upon which to display your egg. Dig into this muscle-building meal fit for a champ!
Ingredients
Sweet potato 1
Onion 1
Red pepper 1
Bacon strips 2
Egg 1
Grapeseed oil 2 tbsp
Lime juice 1/4 lime
Scallions to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley to taste
Directions
1. Peel and dice sweet potato. We used a local white sweet potato.
2. Coat pan with grapeseed oil.
3. Sauté onions and bacon pieces. Allow to caramelize. Don't shake the pan because you'll break the sear that's giving it that golden brown color.
4. Add red peppers and sweet potatoes.
5. Dice and add fresh parsley.
6. Add lime juice.
7. As the hash cooks, add oil to another pan and allow pan to warm.
8. Crack and fry egg.
9. Top hash with scallions and salt and pepper to taste. Plate and top with fried egg.

| Ham and Veggie Scramble |
Simplicity gets a protein punch with this dish. The saltiness of the ham, meatiness of the egg, and creaminess of the avocado all play into the beauty of this one-pan dish.
Ingredients
Canadian bacon 2 oz.
Eggs 4
Tomato 1/2
Avocado 1/2
Grapeseed oil 1 tsp
Directions
1. Add oil to the pan. Saute onions, tomato, and Canadian bacon.
2. Whisk together four eggs and season with salt and pepper. Add a little milk or heavy cream. Mix.
3. Cut an avocado into quarters and create an avocado fan. Set aside.
4. Add eggs and scramble. If it overcooks, add in another egg.
5. Plate eggs and top with fresh avocado.

Robert Irvine is my most favorite celebrity chef - just look at him! He looks fit and trim as opposed to most other celebrity chefs. The best part is that he is in his mid-50s, thus showing that fitness and good health is in reach for everybody. Dear Robert - you are my heroic, shining example that I use to pick myself up and keep working at life no matter what happens. Thank you from my soul and I send this message to you with love.
I fried two eggs using this simple technique and they were the best eggs I've ever tasted. Robert is great here, as usual.
Robert is the jack of all trades. Love what he cooks, great chef 👩🍳
This man casually cutting an avocado is one of the most aesthetically pleasing things I’ve ever seen

Glad that I stumbled upon this! I have had a bit of a crush on Robert Irvine for years as I have watched a lot of the Food Network in the past. The dishes he presented were simple and straightforward. I definitely would love to try the sweet potato hash and fried egg dish.
Being a college student and a firefighter I really appreciate these quick recipe videos! Thanks

Thank you for demonstrating. Looks delicious. Great video.
Secret ingredient: just let everything do its thing
Cause when it does its amazing
Little tips how to improve the dish:
1) Render the bacon fat first on a low/meadium heat so you dont have to add this much oil, it will improve the taste of the hash and make the bacon crispy
2) Take your eggs out of the fridge a bit earlier so they get colse to room temp and lower tge heat of your pan. That way yolk wont be raw and white burned on the edges.

Bottom line: healthy eaters, body builders and people who want to lose/gain weight MUST know how to cook. 😙
its hard when you live with a fat ass family that only wants to eat unhealthy stuff

@@elijahhill6602 well not to be judgmental. But it is annoying and irritating to keep hearing about Chef Irvine and his ex wrestler wife being the most adorable amazing cute power couple and how lucky they are to have each other and how they married up multiple times especially on Twitter. It is so nauseating. It is okay for married couples to be happy with each other and love each other but it gets annoying to keep bragging about it multiple times.
very nice chef Robert, Thanks A Lot For The Video,
Lots Of Love And Respect
Thanks for sharing the videos. They are informative, the recipes are nutritious, and the background music is good. I like to make a dish similar to the breakfast hash, but with a piece of stove-top toasted (butter & evoo) toast underneath the hash. Cheers.

Bb dont fucking eat these shits lol, 1 fucking egg lmao
First breakfast was 600 calories, second breakfast was about the same. Unless you're a puny person, 600 calories is a small breakfast for a person who works out. You also have the option of not using oil by using a nonstick and taking out an egg or two and using egg whites from a carton to shave off 200 calories.
Gallon of oil is a pro move for sure.

Wow! Without the bacon and the salt, I think I could eat this and still be okay with my high blood pressure diet. I have never tried grapeseed oil. I use either olive or avocado oil. Thanks for this video. You are absolutely DELICIOUS to watch. :)
We use smoked paprika on our deviled eggs. They are awesome. I'm glad you use vinegar in your recipe. So people don't and they don't know what they're missing.
hope to try this soon. hate powders with funky aftertaste and since this is robert irvin i am so very hopeful
I heard, "parsley is great for cleaning up blood."
This guy is not only a chef, but with those big pure muscles, this guy is a Chef Knight and the a lot of foods I’ve seen him make on this channel actually look pretty bomb actually and I have also tried his FitCrunch protein bars and it tastes just like a candy bar except with no added sugar and artificial crap and all those unhealthy stuff, I haven’t tried his Protein bark or protein puffs but I really want to but other than that, yeah this guy is awesome and I luv his protein bars as well
First dish: 601 calories, 16g protein. Literally just had a few slices of bread with nutella on them that had better macros...
dont be a dumbass, this is a recipe and you dont have to follow it exactly the same. You can adjust it to fit your needs. And youre comparing it with nutella lmao
Bread and Nutella isn’t better macros lol empty calories
Just add another egg and some nuts
No wonder you’re scrawny
Wow... I guess I’ll switch back to spoons full of hazelnut flavoured sugar spread... I’ve been backwards this whole time 😶
@@자시엘-l1s lol here we can see a bunch of people who don't understand the difference between macros and micros. Obviously bread and nutella isn't healthier than eggs; that isn't what I was saying.
@@popk814 you can do that but egg is the best source of protein.
Looks eggcellent to me
Just Javiel bruda
Fabulous recipe!
Grapeseed Oil is my Favorite!
These are cool. But for the first one, if youre going to add bacon for anything, you really dont need to add any extra oil for added fat
WesPoint55 I was thinking the same thing, I would’ve started with the bacon and used it’s natural oils to cook the rest.
if u dont want to add it, you dont have to
idiots still thinking low fat high carb is the answer
keto is even worse
science is wrong as well if you think like a bodybuilder
So cool to see Robert Irvine on here.
This guy is actually teaching a class as he cooks
I want those 3 dishes every mornin before my workouts . 💪😎
Could we use a regular sweet potato? I have never even heard of a white sweet potato I doubt I would ever find one. LOL
samanthaov bruh I found some in Columbia, Missouri.
Here in Ireland they are unheard of. I can only get red sweet potatoes here.
Here in NYC it is called "California batata".
Lol yep never heard of it. Probably have to get it from eBay 😝
White sweet potatos are a Whole Foods kind of food. The harder to find health food store stuff. I've never seen it in a normal store.
Vc é o cara Robert
I just came to look at his muscles and hear him speak. I love his accent
Girrrrl yesss! 😛
I'm a 78 year old man in pretty good shape. But this guy!!! Nice to see someone older in that condition. It's one thing to be in good condition when you're younger. But at Robert's age it's harder. I've been working out with resistance bands from home during Covid 19. Robert certainly gives a old guy inspiration! Thanks!!!
Where's the link for the cookware ? And I know that you're using healthy cookware. I love all of your shows. Your brilliant chef.

great recipe's!!!. I needed the reminder about grape seed oil for cooking , it is best overall but not a lot of people know to use it.
This isn't for someone cutting weight...
Well Mistuh Michael, I've been lifting a lot of weights lately, after losing many many pounds of fat... and somehow my weight keeps going up, up and up; yet my abs are not showing any less... I'll take it. ;)
Jack of all trades because muscles are heavier than fat

the cheese grater is an excellent tip! Never thought of that.
Always a learning experience to watch a professional cook in action. I have been cooking for more than 73 years and have never stopped learning better ways of doing things.
Yummy? yes, healthy? doubt it!
Thxs for recipe
If you wanna cut weight them alter the recipe. But if you notice Robert has pure muscle because he eats real food and isnt scared of carbs even The Rock! You cant a get a true Olympian body eating nothing but fat free food like fat free yogurt lol that stuff isnt real lol just saying.
Yogurts isn’t a real food full stop.
You can be big lean and natural. Pick any two 🤗
he hardly cooked an carbs - just fat and protein. the avocado was a healthy
addition. as a body builder who needs protein, okay, but ham and bacon are not
close to heart healthy and id think any bodybuilder or athlete wouldnt want that
@@callumgallagher7584 I eat yoghurt and I am fine
real greek yoghurt is the best
When i make deviled eggs, i add cottage cheese instead of mayonnaise and it’s so good 😊
Robert adds a lot of olive oil:

I'm not a pro but the beacon should of gave it enough grease. (for the sweet potato hash)
zoLow1001 right??!! I was like bacon AND oil? Why tho?!! And way too much oil in general- spray oil is where it's at, if I poured linguist oil in the pan like this that would be all my fat macros for the next 3 days used up for 1 breakfast 🙄
Courtney McFarland pic or it didn’t happen xD
Thank you Chef!!!
saw this in recommended and thought it was Logic teaching me how to cook lmao
Thanks chef ..
that was like 400 calories of oil on a pan that he just added BACON to lol wtf???
I wonder what calories have to do with healthy food? Healthy does not mean - eat less. It means - eat good. If you are bodybuilder you easly have to eat every day 2,5-3,5k calories (especially if you do cardio to it). 500-800 calories per meal is nothing and it doesn't say anything about being healthy or not.
If you are lazy ass who sits in front of monitor whole day and not move a lot then yes- those recepies are mostly not for you.
Just to tell you- his second scrambled eggs were 4x90 kcal for eggs, around 50 kcal in additions, 100 kcal in fat (avocado). Easy 600 calories at least- that is small breakfast for bodybuilder or someone who does sport.
Also especially if you do sport (but mostly if you do a lot of cardio related activities) you need fat.
@Nicholas Pagano thats a stupid comment
I eat 4000/4500kcal a day and let me tell you this is way too much fat. Especially for in a caloric surplus. Dietary fat gets stored as bodyfat the easiest, So I wanna keep it under 130grams per day roughly. Just wasting my fat macros on all that oil, AND egg AND bacon would be ridiculous@@honestbenny
@@sinterdesint it would be great for bulking
@@knight1506 no it's not, too much fat. Dietary fat gets stored most easily as body fat while in a caloric surplus but whatever, it looks super tasty.

The sweet potato hash was amazing.
Sorry, Chef Robert, it looks yummy but BACON and HEALTHY don't go together. I still love you.

Yes sorry ;)
well? how else do you cook breakfast?
Love it
I wouldn't put the word healthy in the title of the video
Fats not even bad for you if consumed in moderation you bigot. Starving yourself of all nutrients except protein doesn't mean healthy.
I'm pretty sure the dish with avocado in it is nothing less than healthy.. And yeah having fat in your food is not wrong at all, unless it's all coming from saturated fat..
Josh Howes Are you mad? You seem mad. Eggs are low in saturated fat.
The saturated fat and cholesterol in eggs don't raise your risk for heart disease and there are a lot of vitamins in the yolk. It's fairly recent news, only a few years old, so you may not have gotten the message if you're not interested in nutrition but I'd advise you to look it up now because it's really quite interesting and changes quite a few things.
Theres nothing unhealthy about this dish, it's very healthy, essentail mono-unstaturates, saturates from the ALA and CLA from the egg and bacon and micro's from the veggies along wit ha little carbs and potassium from the potatoes, similar goes for the other recipes.
Amazing I do love it 💗
Chef Robert Irvine needs new glasses the 90s are over
Bruh... what's healthy about having oil in a non-stick pan and then bacon on top of it? Not to mention the mayo at the end. **rme**
Mayo has absolutely zero carbs, and if you do even intermediate or beginners cardio, it shouldn't hurt you. Fat dosent mean bad. It just means more calories and if you're bulking you're good enough. It's way better than eating bread or rice.
@@bunnygill6597 mayo is the worst kind of fat you can have , and carbs are actually good for you , so you just murdered the ayo
Looks good
aint nobody got tiiime for that... where the meal prep recipes at
CaminDaR plenty of time to do that. All it takes is one day to grocery shop, cut/cook, and store food. Look at the Mahi sandwich video and see how he uses the mango salad for multiple dishes. Apply the same principle and you’re good.
Meal prep gets gross after awhile eating food thats been in the fridge for a week 😷
