NATO is a defensive organization? Really? Did Serbia attack NATO? If you think that a commitment to not moving NATO one inch to the East is questionable, then you absolutely need to listen to Ambassador Jack Matlock, a man who witnessed and was part of the negotiations regarding the reunification of Germany.

After the collapse of the USSR, Russia had no ideology, no one was asked to sing anthems, walk under red flags and organize a world communist revolution.
While the US has not reformatted at all and is still playing an ideological game. Representatives of the establishment look like fanatics when they constantly talk about "open society", "democracy", "freedom". Everyone is sick of it. After so many failed attempts to establish their ideals and regimes in various countries in different ways, they continue to do this using their huge resources. And this costs millions of lives
At the same time, constant hypocrisy exposes them. Putin is bad, but Russian people have lived well under him and actually vote for him, and Saudi Arabia, where women do not have the right to study, work or travel anywhere, is a strategic partner. Putin is paranoid, but we are setting up bases next to Russia, withdrawing from treaties and not fulfilling promises. The oligarchs of the nineties are bad, but Khodorkovsky, who by the way is now involved in a new scandal with Nevzlin, is our man, whom we will support. Don't they understand that their rhetoric has long been outdated and it's time to learn something new?

Nuland is a diplomat: they shy away from the truth. Americans have always been afraid of Russia's economic and military power, considering it's vast resource and military potential. Hence they never supported full-throtle Russia's transition to market economy. They have forever planned the disintegration of Russia (divide and conquer policy), so they could access those resources while containing it.

Such a total disconnect from present day geopolitical reality is beyond comprehension given Nuland’s appointment to such senior foreign policy positions, irrespective of such an accumulation of misjudgments and strategic failures.
Russia stands stronger than ever, whilst the U.S. neocons are indisputably weakened.
To the irrational Russophobia on display here is added even more. irrational Sinophobia as the U.S. teeters - combined with a total disregard for the fact that U.S. stands on the brink of paralysing civil conflict and economic collapse.
Patronizing distortions of the truth abound from start to finish.
In reality, Putin has rebuilt Russia since U.S. neocon puppet Yeltsin - the U.S. ruthlessly abused and pillaged the region after the peaceful dissolution of the Soviet Union in the 1990s - into a prosperous planned liberal economy which booming and democratic, with the President in constant contact with his people, the press and with 80% approval ratings.
Nothing autocratic about Putin’s effective leadership.
Russia’s standing across the world as a powerful united resilient and respected nation is beyond dispute today.
Such distortions and total disconnect from geopolitical reality - as BRICS+100 nations form a new multipolar order and a consolidated block opposed free from the bullying tyranny of the U.S. neocon with its systemic wars, democracy « divide to misrule » neighboring in order to weaken prosperity and the development through strong local currencies …
Anachronistic toothless paper tiger and entirely offensive NATO is most unwelcome in Europe - where it has no territory to defend.
Trotting out with a glib smile such untruths is pathological and fools nobody but such insular, self possessed and absolutely lethal bureaucrats.
Makes one sick to the stomach listening to such staggering fabulations.
Notice the carefully cast collaborator and the film set as he feeds her softball questions and tacitly endorses the upside down presentation of reality for a dumbed down domestic audience.
    Total disconnect from reality.
    Simply mind boggling pathology ineptitude.
Anyone with sense knows what was set out in Brezhinsky’s neocon strategy published around 1995.
The Nuland-Blinken-Clinto attempt at covertly simply colonizing Europe’s largest region on Russia’s inseparable borderlands in such a way as to threaten its defence security, economy, demographic and cultural unity as millennial civilization and the largest and most naturally rich in resources nation on earth.
As a diminished regime, the U.S. must get out of Europe now and stop orchestrating a further proxy conflict in the Asia Pacific region aimed at weakening a more successful economic rival China - and concentrate on sorting out its acute domestic problems and failing system of « government by sponsors ».
The U.S. neocon regime’s destruction of its so-called « friends and NATO » allies’ key energy supply - an unjustified act of war on Germany, the world’s 4th biggest industrial economy - was an act of war on the European Union, as was the coercive imposition of predictably self destructive. illegal and unilateral sanctions on its key supplier of natural resources, Russia, - when in reality Russia acted preemptively to halt an impending attack on the Donbas and Crimea by Europe’s largest military force, funded, armed, trained and directed by the U.S. neocon regime under Nuland’s supervision over a decade of frozen conflict fueled by her so as to form divisions between neo Banderist Ukrainian nationalists and the Russian population with roots dating back to the 18th century.
US neocons: over 53 disastrous proxy wars since WWII.
China: no wars in over 40 years.
    The game is up.
    The entire world knows it.
    God help us!

The neocon dilemma. Interesting, as an Indian, to observe Nuland representing the Western/US exceptionalism of promoting democracy & rule of law. The ideology is aimed at reading the rulebook opportunistically, so an Islamist like Yunus is parachuted into B'desh when they resist US plans to create a Christian enclave in Myammar a la East Timor as a base to counter China. Point is not whether the Hasina regime was good/bad or democratic/autocratic (it was corrupt & autocratic). Point is it is labelled by the State dept & then regime changed as per convenience to perceived narrow American self interest. & thats latest in a template which runs a disastrous trail via Vietnam, Nicaragua, Iraq, Afghanistan, Suria, Libya, Serbia, Georgia, Ukraine, etc. Continues across to promote pan-Americana, & only v strong regimes & big countries like Russia, China, India can resist in part. At great cost.

Russia was part of this war and ignited it as well (with Strelkov). That's just a fact. But Russia actively fought in this war it's 100% clear and proven by open source and not so open source sources. It was confirmed multiple times by Russian propaganda TV channels, multiple soldiers, Z bloggers, and Strelkov himself. Russia was the proxy aggressor that used its limited, but regular army in the 2014-2016 active phase of the conflict providing military aid, and soldiers (lots of Asian-looking soldiers were seen and then tracked back to Russia) etc. Not to mention MH17 Boeing. Russia was actively in the war back then already, it's just de-juro they were not. Physically they were there.

@@RIP212 Complete nonsense. Strelkov has nothing to do with Russia, he is a citizen of the Donbass republics. By the way, he was convicted and is in prison in Russia. What you write about mythical evidence is an array of unsubstantiated accusations of Ukrainian propaganda aimed at justifying their military actions that led to many years of losses and a decline in life. Since 2014, for 9 years, Russia tried to resolve the conflict through diplomacy, but Ukraine broke all agreements and continued military actions against the Donbass republics, this was confirmed by Victoria Nuland in a recent interview. The Donbass republics officially turned to Russia for protection and Russia sent instructors there to train their army, and already in 2022, after Western countries openly began to supply Ukraine with weapons and form a huge army, Russia, at the request of the Donbass republics, entered these republics with its limited army. But let me remind you, this happened after Western countries openly and actively began to arm Ukraine. Russia never used its army in the period 2014-2016, this was confirmed by representatives of international organizations and the UN, what you write is Ukrainian propaganda without facts and evidence. MH17 Boeing was shot down by a Ukrainian air defense missile, this has already been confirmed by the restoration of the type of impact on the hull, and Russia, at a certain point in time, was not allowed to investigate, which speaks of the bias of countries for which it was important to preserve the fake about the mythical presence of a Russian trace, which in reality did not exist, otherwise Russia would have easily denied everything. It's like now the Nord Streams that Ukraine blew up, but at the beginning everyone blamed Russia. Physically, Russia never had its own army in Ukraine until 2022, just as they are not there now, Russia is on its own territory, the Donbass republics became part of Russia, the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions also held a referendum and became part of Russia, and only after that Russia began to defend its land.

BTW, unlike Ukraine, Moscow had a NATO-ISAF base stationed in central Russia for years (in Ulyanovsk). Moscow also allows US air forces to fly over to and from Afghanistan, so Ru cargo companies made billions in 💵. So all "NATO Expansion" as the reason for Moscow to wage war on Ukraine was a total lie.

Russia wanted Ukraine to remain neutral and not borrow a fortune from Western banks to buy arms from Western arms manufacturers, which would have seen us miss out on a massive profit opportunity, was when we really had to coax Ukraine and the world into getting into war with Russia by telling everyone Russia was first after Ukraine then all of Europe, despite us knowing and Russia knowing they would never be capable of that.

Unfortunately, both U.S. and European politics often underestimate the benefits that European countries and the U.S. derive from money printing and shadow investments in Western assets from developing and post-soviet nations. While a significant portion of the funds transferred to Russia consisted of debts, it is crucial to note that between 1991 and 2000, approximately $150 billion leaked out of Russia (cash dollar savings are likely not included in this figure). By 1998, a semblance of economic equality had been achieved, but by that time, Russian democrats had already lost considerable ground.
There has never been a time when Western investments exceeded the assets held by the Russian government and its citizens in Western markets. While I acknowledge that these investments were not particularly valuable to the West-moreover, a substantial portion was "dirty money"-the missteps of Western political strategies, both past and present, are strikingly evident.

I remember what those days looked like in the media, two Swedish top economists, Stefan Hedlund and Anders Åslund, were among the exclusive bunch called in to "help the new Russian regime" to fix things. Basically this meant "help" administered with a gun ready to point at the head of Russian society, if the leaders didn't comply. The goal was to achieve a textbook sell-off of as much state assets as possible to allow for western corporate and financial takeover, all motivated by neo-liberal (Friedman) dogma. Predictably this led to a collapse in society and Russian business. When Putin took over in 2000 he had to clean up the mess, against the wishes of the entitled West.
