two 20oz. cans of pineapple in the place of fresh pineapple. Remember to drain the juice from
1 CAN ONLY! Then follow the rest of the steps as guided. Remember to get a copy of the
Ball Guide To Canning Book as a reference and to make many other wonderful recipes.
    I Hope This Helps!

Have you ever tried Strawberry, pineapple, rhubarb jam? It is simply divine. My grandfather came up with the concoction back in the early 70's, while teaching my older sister how to cook the Italian dishes and preparing a garden and preserving foods. He would take one sister every year when they turned 16 and taught them everything about farming and storing food. My grandmother would teach them embroidery, sewing and crochet.

Your jelly/jam looks wonderful! Next time you have a nice organic pineapple, throw those peelings and core into a jar filled with water, add some sugar (I used a half cup of brown sugar) and I also threw in 3 whole cloves then cover very lose (I used a coffee filter with string). Set the jar on the back of your kitchen counter and stir it every day. The smell in your home will be intoxicating, I promise. Then once it passes about a week, try tasting it. If it is vinegar, drain off the solids and jar up the vinegar. It is amazing on salad but really tastes nice just to sip for the probiotics. Google it and you will not be disappointed. You can also use it to clean, kill ants, and wash store bought veg.

    • @debodeeful
      @debodeeful Рік тому +3

One week, vinegar? Mine take 30 days to get to 3.5 acidity with fruit scrap vinegar and bubbling probiotics. However, with pineapple scraps, I keep getting cam yeast that just over runs the mixture. Apple scrap vinegar is only one that cam yeast doesn't attack.

@@debodeeful I love making tepache from my pineapple rinds. Try using Starsan (found on Amazon or in brewing stores) to clean your jar prior to starting your ferments. I have had almost no fermentation fails since cleaning my jars with Starsan first.

Just a little tip for ALL JAMS and preserves: Add a pinch of salt to it. It will enhance the flavor ( salt do that) and it will help for preservation. But just a pinch! Also a half lemon juice , super good! I’ve been doing it for ever and everybody ask me why my jams, mermeladas and preserves are sooooo goood😜

Okay.......now I have got to try this. Looks delicious, I could almost smell it. I used to make a lot of jam, and never used pectin. Just used fruits that either contained it naturally, or cooked apples and strained the juice and added it to the recipe, as apple is high in pectin, then cook to the gel stage. But never thought to try pineapple. Now I want to. Thanks for another great vid.

Thank you for this video! We've already steam juiced and canned 22 pounds of Raspberries from our homestead and it's good but since Covid I haven't been able to get Pineapple Jam. Your video was a huge help and we'll be trying the recipe with canned crushed Pineapple. BTW, this is the first video we've seen from you - we liked it. You have a great way about you; practical, happy and you don't assume we know something we don't! We subscrived! OH! Another BTW ;) There's no need to put a lid and ring on your spacer jar in the water bath, it works fine just full of water. Water bath, right side up and full of water, pressure canner upside down and empty, no lid on either one.

I am new to canning and this recipe was my first attempt at water bathing. From 1 pineapple, I was able to get 4 jars. I have had the jars on the shelf for a week. Couldn't resist. Today popped the lid. DELICIOUS!!!!! My goodness, this is so good. I did give it a squirt of lemon. I am extremely pleased and will make this again. Thanks for sharing.

Hey! Hey! Mrs. Homestead Heart! Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all you do! Pineapple jam sounds AWESOME! Headed to the store shortly, but after reading in the comments I wanted to give your subs a quick tip. My Mom taught me to put a small jar with a few (small) holes punched in the lid with about a 1/4 of a cup of apple cider vinegar in it to "trap" the gnats that come with fruit. I keep this on my counter year round. It works great!! Just remember to change the vinegar often. Hope this helps them out! I'm off to the store now! Bless you and your family for doing all you do!

The first time I made pineapple jam I was about 11 years old. I planted the crown too. The only difference is I put a little bit, very little bit, of salt to balance and enhance all that sweet goodness. Great video Ladybug.

FROZEN PINEAPPLE: Three (3) one pound bags (16 ounces/1 pound each bag) of Dole frozen pineapple chunks made me a total of (8) eight jelly jars: 8 oz each jar. THREE TOTAL BAGS EQUALS EIGHT JELLY JARS. I did add equal amounts of sugar (6 cups total), a smidge of cinnamon, and one capful of lemon juice to cut the sweetness. I took a little of the liquid out after I use my immersion blender and added the cinnamon to that little bit with a fork. Then I added that amount back into the large pot of pineapple. DELICIOUS!! THANK YOU MRS H!! May the Lord bless you and keep you!

I've just recently starting canning, although I don't have a pressure canner yet. I've made watermelon and blueberry jams, and this will be my next attempt, as my wife loves pineapple. I like how much it seems that you enjoy making these videos. Although I never had the experience, it feels more like learning from a mom in the family kitchen than just watching a video...
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!

It’s about 4:30 am and your video made me hungry for some good homemade pineapple jam! I grew up watching my mother canning and preserving various fruits and vegetables, etc. and many years later I’ve become interested and recently started preserving figs from our fig tree which turned out great considering it was my first time and with the help of good people like you on UA-cam showing us how! Thanks…

I just finished doing this recipe! I used about 1/2 of the sugar, so it's more like a preserve in texture. The flavor is amazing! And I couldn't believe it only needed to process for 5 min!!! Awesome! Thank you so much 💓.

Have you ever added coconut to your pineapple jam? I'm guessing you'd cut back on the sugar a bit if you were using the sweetened variety.
