I’m proud of myself for being consistent with my loc maintenance almost a year into my journey. I recently have allowed someone else to maintain my hair, but I can definitely do without the assistance of a stylist if needed.

I had to learn because it’s not many locticians in my area and the ones that are charge over 100 for a simple retwist not including washing and styling.
Agreed. I made a point of watching carefully for the first years I had locs when getting them done. Then watched UA-cam vids and blended the installers technique and UA-cam videos like this and Gunther the great ect on how my hair texture worked . Now iv had my locs for over a decade and maintine them myself cuz the 2 hour drive to the shop was to much for me to do monthly.
I just started doing Kongos from watching wick techniques cuz I wanted bigger sections then I originally had .
I've decided on permanent loc extensions and I also am on a very limited budget. Although I hate the idea of it I am fully committed to learning how to maintain them myself ! I plan to relocate outside of this country so I will have no choice! I wonder how many loctitions are willing to commit to teaching you to do it yourself since it might impact their own livelihood!
Loc retwist, maintenance, rejuvenation,detox etc are my fav videos on yt, yours are always so thorough and informative. Overall great channel ❤️
Locktitions don’t get enough credit for the work they do. I’m on my second set & can say Extensions are not the way growing your own going through the growth process is literally that there is no easy way to locks. Either you gonna go through the trials or go the easy route. Keep doing what you doing because you have a thankless job continue to do amazing work wishing you blessings blessings abundance peace happiness serenity prosperity harmony wealth & health.

Times get tough and during the pandemic I am sure a lot of people's hair suffered.
Thankfully I have been maintaining this set of locs since year 1 due to me not having money so I had to learn. I miss going to get my hair done. You did a wonderful job!

I went with your method with the wash after you install to double check your work! I recently did a full head install and when I washed the hair after the install I was able to take care of the Locs that were in there tight enough so later down the line none would fall out! Thanks

A lot of people here aren’t very self-sufficient. I have never gone to a salon not once in my dread journey and on top of it I only wash my hair every few months. I also live in a very dry place (Arizona). I watched videos on videos to learn how to maintain locs myself and have never gone through as much dependency as the people in the comments have. At some point you gotta understand how much money you’re spending doing this.

I got 3 extension because when I dreads broke off I didn’t think I could extend it with none real hair 🤦🏿♂️ this also helped me because my hair be getting dry fast I used to wonder why but now I understand

Hey so I have a question, I wanted to get some advice on how often a person should wash their loc extension? I get nervous to wash them on my own. Also with moisturizing I have been using a misting water bottle with water and glycerin and then I use an oil, is that enough?….I live in Louisiana. I have been trying to keep it simple to not have a lot of build up. Any advice would help, thanks in advance
I love how reattaching Locks is available. Not many know how to.
I also love the styles some guys can get with short fro hair. Now stylist can use a Lock/Twist look combined with low cut/Taper. Not real Locks but still looks amazing and gives more hair on top of head; and is the next level needed over fro.
With the longer hair styles for Locks; 2 strands Twist style is awesome. My only complaint is the scalp/parts are visible. Kind of take away the wholesome look, hopefully Stylist find a way to hide scalp/parts to make the head look more full.
