Idk if anyone has recomend hazbin hotel to you guys but its a pretty popular show with a solid following that would probably do well on the channel. I obviously love the show or I wouldn't of recomend it so obviously I'm biased but just wanted to mention it.
The most unique thing about this episode is that KRAMER rented his apartment from Paul Buchman - who is the main character in Mad About You- the show Susan wanted him to watch with her with its theme song playing in the background.
A long time ago I was on the back lot at CBS and noticed the Mad About You soundstage was very near the outdoor set for Seinfeld so they must’ve been on friendly terms.
@@Tconlon251_2 Reminds me of a movie called Last Action Hero starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's revealed that the movie "The Terminator" exists in this universe, only the Terminator is played by Sylvester Stallone.
The line “what took you so long?” was reportedly said by David Berkowitz (the serial killer known as Son of Sam) to police when they arrested him. Berkowitz, like Newman, was a mail carrier. :)
Elaine in this episode alone makes her top 3 funniest actresses to exist. That immediate walk back when she see's the cop talking to Kramer is so good.
You guys have to watch more of season 7 for the continuing subplot of George’s engagement (and pestering Jerry about the pact).. it’ll make The Invitations more effective
@@kbrewski1 actually it looks like they're not doing that badly, sure they skipped a couple but so far it looks like they're covering The Soup Nazi (up now) and The Sponge (up next) which aren't directly Susan related but feature her prominently. My guess is they'll probably jump to The Rye and then maybe The Seven, and then finally The Wait-Out and The Invitations
I love the way Newman calmly answers the door, eyes the cop up and down and rolls the cigarette back and forth in his mouth before saying his line. Brilliant acting
It should be noted that "Mad About You" was another hit show on NBC that was popular at the same time as Seinfeld. (They might've even both been part of the same Thursday night lineup at one point.) It had Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt as a young married couple. That was the theme song heard during the Seinfeld end credits. The funny thing is that I'm fairly sure there were more than one crossover episodes linking Seinfeld, Mad About You, and Friends. Meaning, they all were meant to take place in the same universe. So George and his fiance watching "Mad About You" kind of clashes with the idea that the Mad About You characters were "real."
During the end credits, they're watching MAD ABOUT YOU, a show that aired at the same time on NBC. Weirdly though, the main character of MAD, played by comedian Paul Reiser, comes back to visit his old apartment, across the hall from Kramer, who makes an appearance on the show.
What's funny is the show that George and Susan are watching at the end of the episode is Mad About You. Another "Must See TV" show from Thursday nights at the time.
Just when I think little more enjoyment can be obtained by watching Seinfeld over and over again, seeing your reactions to revisiting it or experiencing it for the first time makes my day. Keep it up!
I love how there is a bit of a running gag in Seinfeld with Newman and the old Film Noir movie era. Another great episode with this theme is the Package. Newman is so funny in that one. His speech to Jerry at the end is absolutely hysterical. Such a brilliant character.
From this episode on all of Season 7, has a season long Susan-George story arc. There's also a few episodes afterwards too. (Of course she appeared in the series before their engagement as well, but for smaller bits/arcs). It's all really good/funny.
Clerk: Okay, have you been in here before? George: About a year ago. Wedding invitations. Clerk: Right, how did that all work out? George: No complaints.
Michael Richards actually guest starred in an episode of Mad About You, as Kramer. Though If I remember it right it was only a cameo. It makes sense because both those shows take place in New York.
Mad About You is another good show to watch with Kacee, it was also on when I was in high school (I graduated 96). 🙂 The husband in that show played Burke in Aliens. 🙂
Not as much as the actress that plays Susan. I eard the idea was for her to stay around, but she was such a bitch and a diva, that after she get in a fight with all the other actors they just kill her off, and never looked back. They just fired her on the spot cause no one wants to work with her
You should do the several episodes in order that deal with Jerry’s slice of life in getting the show offer from NBC, where George gets involved with writing it. Those are great, and they show the origin of George meeting her. It starts with “The Pitch” S4, E3.
For me it is a little strange that George and Susan are watching Mad About You, since there is an episode in that show where the main character goes to pick up his belongings from his old apartment, that he is subletting to Kramer. They even talk about the "new guy" who moved in across the way (Jerry)!
At the end, they were watching Mad About You together. A 90s sitcom about a couple and their relationship. It's a GREAT sitcom. I don't know what George's problem is.
The most unique thing about this episode is that KRAMER rented his apartment from Paul Buchman - who is the main character in Mad About You- the show Susan wanted him to watch with her with its theme song playing in the background.
You're not going to believe the lengths George will go to get out of marrying Susan. However, you should watch Season 3 Finale, THE KEYS, which ties into Season 4 Opener, a two parter; THE TRIP, wherein Jerry and George go to Hollywood seeking Kramer, who had departed NY at the end of THE KEYS - it's the most fun run of consecutive episodes and guest stars.
I'm sure they're going to be watching the season finale so they need to watch The Cadillac since it is referenced in it and also The Rye since that episode is referenced in The Cadillac.
9:22 Newman saying to the cops _"What took you so long?"_ was a reference to what serial killer David Berkowitz (aka "Son of Sam") said to the cops when they came knocking on his door to arrest him. In the show, David Berkowitz worked with Newman cuz he too worked for the post office.

"I'm much more comfortable criticizing people behind their backs." That is next level honesty about yourself. And it didn't take much reflection.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus really did blow out her voice filming the first scene yelling at the dog, which luckily made perfect sense for the story.
We need Kacey to see David Puddy episodes. The Face Painter, The Reverse Peephole and The Car Dealership
Feels like an Arby's night.
The devil's the devils aaaaaaa
Yeah, that's right
Face painter for sure, LOL.

Hilarious crossover episode.

@@THOMMGBThat would be fun to see. I've been on the set of Friends (Central Perk set) and Everybody Loves Raymond. Both right after the shows ended.
The joke that only some will recall is that, "Mad About You" aired right after Seinfeld
An easy way to sneak in a promo.
Although M.A.Y. shouldn’t exist in the Seinfeld universe since there was an episode in which Kramer was subletting from Paul Reiser’s character

I always look forward to your Seinfeld reaction!
We had a pact!
Still with that?
My favorite part of the episode was kramer talking jerry out of wanting to get married "you know what you do at dinner time, you talk about your day^😅
I guess it shows how different TV Jerry is from Real Jerry, since I could never see the former wanting to get married and have kids.
"You're doing time, Jerry, it's a prison!"
I love the way Newman calmly answers the door, eyes the cop up and down and rolls the cigarette back and forth in his mouth before saying his line. Brilliant acting
I just noticed the guy Jerry is talking to at the movies @7:20 is the guy in the car who Jerry cut off in the Puerto Rican Day Parade episode.
Yep, that's maroon Golf!
Mario Joyner, comedian, one of Jerry's best buds in real life
8:49 - That "Whaaat? ...WHHHAAAaaAaAT???" line has the perfect delivery.

After the series ended Jerry was on David Letterman and said of the characters, "I don't know if anyone noticed but these are not nice people!" LOL
Episode "The Library." George and Jerry in high school. And, Phillip Baker Hall as trench coat wearing cop....
You edited out Jerry's best lines about eating peas one at a time and scooping the niblets, which was so vexing.
I took Kramer's advice to heart.
"What took you so long?" is what the Son of Sam said when the police came to his door.
