    =Setup=
The one character unique skill I've yet to use throughout this playthrough is Army of One so Lightning was chosen as the Party Leader.
Sazh was a really useful character pre-Final Boss. But when going against the endgame Marks, he really fell on the wayside. So, I'm adding him back in the spotlight.
Lastly, the team will be rounded up by Snow for various reason. One of them being his access to Slow.
That said, with this team we end up with the first mandatory party that faced off against the first fal'Cie in the game. Full circle!
Going back to the roots of this playthrough with the "Starting Weapons Only" and "No Accessories" conditions.
"Single Role Paradigms" mean that each Paradigm can only be made up of one Role, i.e. COM/COM/COM, RAV/RAV/RAV, etc. This is pretty useful since characters could further benefit from each other's Role Bonuses. Plus, it'll also show that as long as you know the mechanics of a boss, you can get away with a lazy Paradigm setup.

    =Battle Notes/Thoughts=
This fight was done after facing Vercingetorix. Crystarium development is the same as of that video since Verc gives 0 CP.
Barty's normal moveset is Ultima - Ultima - T.Laugh - Ultima - T.Laugh - Ultima - TLaugh - etc. However, if you deal tons of damage before that 2nd Ultima hits, he will go directly to T.Laugh instead. Knowing that, I was able to look out for it to time Army of One right when Barty executes it.
I love how Lightning gives no F's about having canons blasting right at her face. As stated in the first Final Boss vid, Thanatosian Laughter cannot kill. However, doing Army of One during T.Laugh naturally has its dangers. It's best to pull this off only if Lightning has relatively high HP or else the lasers might chip off whatever HP she has left before she can cast Renew.
Lightning can back step out of Orphan's claw attack range. Three back steps is good enough, but you'll want to do at least 5 since the AI likes to move forward when not doing anything. Sazh can slowly step back out of range too, but he'll need to alternate Physical - Magic - Physical - Magic - Physical commands. This can be done by the Ravager AI only which likes to use random commands.
Perfectly timed Tortoise, woop woop! If hit head on by Merciless Judgement, the party would've ended up with triple, if not double, digit HP since the move does damage equal to 99% of a character's remaining HP. But with a Sentinel, more so 3 Sentinels, that percentage decreases, though I'm not exactly sure by how much. Just note that the higher the Sentinels' Role Levels are, the better you could mitigate attacks that ignore resistance.
Damn Snow for blocking Lightning's close up during that final Army of One against Orphan 2. Would've made an epic finishing shot, lol. (11:42)
    =Personal Reflection=
Welp, it only took 8 years for me to fully understand and appreciate the joys of the Paradigm System. My first playthrough was, fair to say, an utter disaster. Got stuck on Odin, barely got 5 stars against Barty boss fights among others, and just up and gave up against Orphan, choosing instead to watch the game's ending in YT rather than suffer through more failed attempts.
It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that I basically played the game like a mindless drone, subconsciously mashing X, staring blankly at the screen. It's a mistake, it seems, that lots of players had made when the game was first released.
But ever since my 3rd playthrough/1st challenge run of the game, I opted to avoid Auto-Battle altogether and, by Chapter 4, my opinion of the battle system had started to change. The gameplay wasn't the endless slog that I previously experienced.
Long story short, my initial disappointment basically warped into, you could say, an obsession. Just trying to make up for lost time, is all. And this playthrough is my dedication to FFXIII's unique battle system. :D

Wow, you really made Orphan look like a joke in this, haha. And very nice triple-Scourge in the Barthandelus fight.
This playthrough was really fun to watch! It's a great tribute to the Paradigm System.

It’s been a good run! Learned some new techniques, enemy AI patterns, Eidolon mechanics, etc through it all. Thanks for sticking around and good luck on your playthrough! 😄

I don't know if you saw my comment on your Discussion page (maybe it didn't update you), but I can't comment on your HZD stream playback. Does it let you? I'm using the old version of UA-cam, if that helps. Either way, it looks good! Sorry I wasn't around when you were streaming it, but I've been watching the video back.

Hey o/ Sorry, I just saw the comment on pc. I'm usually on mobile and can't access the Discussion page from there. Maybe that's why there wasn't a notification... I left a test comment and it did go through (deleted it after). Btw, I streamed this from PS4 directly to YT so maybe that has something to do with the glitch?
Anyways, no worries! I just streamed it to see how fast I could get through the game, and the output vid would be my timer. But then I ended up wanting to watch some of the cutscenes again, sooo there went that idea, lol. And yeah, very fun, fluid gameplay, beautiful world, hope HZD2 comes soon.

Oh I didn't know you can't see the Discussion page from mobile. I rarely use the mobile version. Yeah I can't see the stream chat playback either, so maybe it has something to do with the PS4 settings. I'm not sure honestly.
It was fun to watch how quickly the game goes by when you know all about which items you need (and have) already. It looks really fun, but I only played a few hours of it because the in-game text is really small, and my couch is about 10 feet away from my TV, so it's hard to read it. Also, the game was clearly designed for 4K and it looks a bit weird to me on a 1080p TV. Hopefully I can get a better TV sometime soon. But yeah, the gameplay reminds me a lot of Assassin's Creed (being a stealth action RPG) and a little bit of The Elder Scrolls (with all the exploration and collecting/crafting stuff). Guerilla did a great job making it, so I hope to see more stuff like that from them, maybe a sequel like you said.

Ah, it must be because I disabled chat during the stream. Enabling it adds the PS4 chat interface on the side which makes the gameplay screen smaller.
Well, my weapons and armor were pretty OP too since I’d gathered some great mods. I could’ve played on Ultra Hard with that setup, but I hate that UH hides the enemy HP bar :/. Hey, imo, the game‘s worth sitting on the floor to get closer to the screen! And speaking of AC...playing Odyssey, I barely recognize the franchise anymore.

I've seen some people stream with a chat but without the sidebar, so it looks normal. But I'm not sure how they do that. I've never streamed from my PS4 because my Internet sucks lol. I would have totally streamed Dissidia though.
I could try using one of those fold-up lawn chairs or something haha, but honestly I'll need a 4K TV at some point. Not sure exactly when, but I think that transition is gonna happen pretty soon in the industry. I could barely play FFXV from my couch. It's a good thing the game is just a hack-and-slash, otherwise I probably would have just given up on it completely. But with AC, I've played 3, 4, and Rogue, and I thought those were pretty fun. Never really bothered to play the others though, although I thought Syndicate looked pretty good.
