I’ve seen a couple other airport videos. But I gotta say, this is one of my favorites. Love the pov. (Colorado native here)It’s been quite a while since I’ve been to DIA (mind you I’ve been there several times)but this was very informative. I always used to just follow other people around the airport (family or school mates) trusting that they knew their way around. I used to be scared that I would just get lost since DIA is so big. I was also a lot younger than and didn’t always understand/ pay attention to the signs. But this was very helpful and nostalgic. I won’t be traveling anytime soon, but was still very helpful. ❤
Hey, I flew here to Denver temporarily on very short notice to crash at a friend's house following crazy events. I have very high anxiety and I combed over this video multiple times before flying out, and I swear I knew the airport better than my Denver local friend by the time I landed! This was so invaluable to me, and I can't thank you enough for it. Hopefully I can just find one even half as good as this for RIC when I fly to Virginia soon haha!

Flying in next week and you saved me so much time with this. I have 2 herniated discs in my lower back, and didn't realize how large the airport was. I'll definitely be using that train to baggage claim!

LUGGAGE TIPS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Tie three or four colored ribbons around the handle to your luggage to warn others that this is not their luggage. People grab luggage at the turnstile and take it home before you ever see it. Anywhere you put your bag, it could be grabbed in error. Example: overhead compartment, unloaded from the bus, at the hotel lobby, at the airport turnstile... These ribbons make your luggage different and EASY TO SPOT when the piece is surrounded by 35 other cases unloaded from the bus. Using 4 ribbons make it immediately different than other cases with 1 ribbon. Use 1” wide ribbons 14” long and not longer. Cut the ends at 45 degrees. Tie the ribbons as a sandwich, as if they were one ribbon. Use a man’s tie, a half Windsor knot for the best look. After it is tied on, the total length of the ribbons will be about 5 inches from the handle. This is too short to catch on anything such as rollers. Scissor cut trim the ribbons to cascading different lengths after they are tied. Put a drop of Super Glue at the end. If each ribbon is slightly a different length by 1/4” the color layers will all show up no matter how they drape. You can see these ribbons from 40 feet away. Perhaps tie TWO handles or RINGS top and side of the case. Tie using a HALF WINDSOR KNOT to the metal buckle ring of the handle. Learn Half Windsor knot tying: It is the 2nd example in this video ua-cam.com/video/X0yh5rKB9lE/v-deo.html This knot does not loosen. Choose one ribbon with an unusual pattern or fabric to really make it unique. The 4th ribbon could be black color. Stand by the output port of the turnstile to reduce the chance of someone else grabbing your piece. Tie your skiies, duffel bag, backpack and what ever else with matching ribbons-even your computer case. If you are a Travel Agent, you could hot gold stamp one ribbon with your name and phone number. Hi everyone! Need help from Denver Airport experts. Is there a way to go back to the lounge/resting areas of the airport after picking up my luggage? I need to rest about 5 hours after landing to pick up my bus but I dont want to leave my baggage unattended. Or is there a resting area near the baggage claim area? Can I take the train back to the main area where the resting zones are after picking the luggage up? Thanks in advance
About how long does it take from plane landing until you pick up baggage? My plane lands at 6:35 am and I have to be at union Station in downtown to get on Amtrak by 8:05. I feel like I'm cutting it too close since I still have to get to baggage claim and ride the a train to union
The video was pretty much the complete real-time walkthrough so around 18 minutes. That is cutting it real close however. My 3 biggest concerns would be: #1 Delays in the flight; #2 Delays on how long it takes the baggage to be delivered to baggage claim; and #3 How long of a wait it is for the train at the airport station. The one time I took the train from the airport to Union Station I had to wait about 10-15 minutes for the train. Sorry if I just caused you more anxiety about your trip….
To better understand the terminal area at the airport, check out this zoomable map that is on Denver Airports official website - maps.flydenver.com/?s=eyJvbmxpbmUvZ2V0RGlyZWN0aW9uc0Zyb21UbyI6eyJtdWx0aXBvaW50Um91dGluZyI6dHJ1ZX0sIm1hcFJlbmRlcmVyIjp7InZwIjp7ImxhdCI6MzkuODQ5MDY2LCJsbmciOi0xMDQuNjczNjcyLCJ6b29tIjoxOC4xNjAxMDMsImJlYXJpbmciOjAsInBpdGNoIjowfSwib3JkIjo3fX0%3D
You just go upstairs one level from baggage claim to where the different airline check ins are located. If you check out some of my Denver departure videos you’ll see me pass baggage claim on my way up to the level where the check in counters are.
At Denver Airport arriving passengers be picked up at curbside outside the Arrivals Level 4 of the West or East Terminal sides. This level is one level below the ground transportation level shown on this video
At DEN family members can pick up arriving passengers on level 4, the level below baggage claim. There are short term parking lots at level 4 that charge around $6.00 per hour. A slightly more distant, but free, cellphone parking lot is also available so travelers can call their family upon being ready to pickup. Just be sure to note which door you exit out of (such as door 406 or 410) so you can tell who is picking you up. The door number is printed very large on the glass door so that people picking up passengers can see them from the car.
Yes, an Uber will pick you up in the ground transportation area. Just look for the “Rideshare” sign. The buses on this video are all for car rental companies but there is a train from the airport that will take you to Union Station in downtown Denver. This train route is called the “A-Line” or the “University of Colorado A Line” and costs $10.50 per person.
@@bozy106 Yes, I have already seen in other videos how to get to the part from where to take the train and how to buy the ticket, but I would like to take an uber, so in that same exit that you took I look for the Shared Ride Line or look for the line that tells me to take a taxi. Let me ask you another question, when you leave the plane that you are going to look for your luggage, I could see in your video that you no longer have to go through security or TSA? Thanks.
@@Mimun2Artístico you can see the different ground transportation islands at 15:30 rideshares such as Uber or Lyft are at island #5. You only have to go through security/TSA before boarding the plane. When getting off you don’t have to do anything but get your luggage and leave.

Aww thanks so much man I'm flying from Charlotte or Jacksonville through here n I have never been here so im a little neevous.
But I am possobly landing at A Terminal so should I walk through the bridge or just use the train
@@dj_cmc2274 I always use the train. Its much quicker. Also, thanks for the comment! Have a great trip!
@@bozy106 another question im going to be picked up by my motger can I get picked up in island 5 or do I have to go somewhere else.
@@dj_cmc2274 for travelers who are being picked up by family and friends they should go to level 4. Level 5 is for taxis, shuttles, etc
@@bozy106 thank u very much im boarding in 40 minutes
Is there a west and east terminal by baggage ?
To better understand the terminal area at the airport, check out this zoomable map that is on Denver Airports official website - maps.flydenver.com/?s=eyJvbmxpbmUvZ2V0RGlyZWN0aW9uc0Zyb21UbyI6eyJtdWx0aXBvaW50Um91dGluZyI6dHJ1ZX0sIm1hcFJlbmRlcmVyIjp7InZwIjp7ImxhdCI6MzkuODQ5MDY2LCJsbmciOi0xMDQuNjczNjcyLCJ6b29tIjoxOC4xNjAxMDMsImJlYXJpbmciOjAsInBpdGNoIjowfSwib3JkIjo3fX0%3D
I booked separate tickets . Where do I go from baggage to check in for my second flight ?
You just go upstairs one level from baggage claim to where the different airline check ins are located. If you check out some of my Denver departure videos you’ll see me pass baggage claim on my way up to the level where the check in counters are.
Where can family pick you up? Would they go to island 5?😅
At Denver Airport arriving passengers be picked up at curbside outside the Arrivals Level 4 of the West or East Terminal sides. This level is one level below the ground transportation level shown on this video
Can the people that are picking you up go inside the airport or is this the only way out ?
Yes they can come into the airport to any location on the public side of TSA Security but they cannot go to the gates.
@@bozy106 Thank you!
Question... where do I go for a family member to pick me up? I would be flying Southwest.
If I dont need baggage claim would I have to make the same trip to get to the rental car buses?
Yes, unfortunately you will.
@@bozy106 ty!!
@@jthomas4791 no problem! Thanks for the view and comment.
Do any of those buses take me downtown? How much? Can I order an uber in that area or is it in another area?
@@bozy106 Thank you very much again.
