So when you are transiting this airport, like traveling from Seattle to Amsterdam, do you just proceed to the next gate for the next flight or would have to go through passport control (or security screening) via a separate sterile corridors? Video shows that the traveler was dropped off at the D gates from the plane, and he/she could of gone directly to the next flight if it leaves from D gate. But he/ she went through passport control to go pass the A gates or C gates towards arrivals. So not sure how it's all organized.

Your video is the only one that answers my worries and questions. I a, flying through here as a connection from uk to USA In a few weeks. I was wondering if you could answer a few lingering questions I had. 1: is there free WiFi so I can let my family know I got there safe. 2: how long do you reckon it would take to go through the arrivals, get my bags and re check in my bags and 3: as this is my first solo flight this long is there any assistance if I need it? I’m so nervous but this has helped.

There IS free wi-fi at KEF airport that travelers can use to stay in touch. As for the time needed to get arrive, go through passport control, collect your bags, recheck them, go through security....the best answer is "it depends". (I won't leave you only with that answer....)
My arrival video is filmed in real time. The only thing I cut out was about 10 or 15 minutes for going through passport control when arriving and maybe 4-5 minutes waiting on my bags, so add about 15-20 minutes to the length of the arrival video should cover the arrival portion. As far as the departure video, I cut out about 5 minutes for the security check and 5 minutes for passport control. So I'd add on about 10 minutes to my departure video to get a sense of how long it took us.
The "it depends" remark is because a major factor is how many other flights are arriving at the same time as yours and how many flights are departing around the same time as yours. This will dictate how many other people are arriving or leaving through the same lines (security, passport, etc) that you are going to be going through.

The duty free shop before baggage is that like a grocery store? Im trting to figure out where to stock up on food before going to our accommodation x

@@charlenelawson5475 it has a few things but your best and cheapest bet is to find a Bonus (it has a pink pig on the sign) or a Kronan (the sign has something that looks like a yellow lemon with a face). These stores are all over and your best bet for stuff like bread, cheese, snacks, sandwich meat, etc.
Just be aware to either take your own shopping bag or be prepared to pay a small fee to purchase bags.
If you have phone/internet service on your device it is very helpful, especially in figuring out what the different types of cheeses are because many of the products have Icelandic labels. However you can find SOME American products like Pringles.

@@yoinks9907 if you checked luggage is going to be “checked through” (automatically goes to the next flight without having to reclaim it) or you have no checked bags, then you will just go to your gate after passport control. Typically your baggage will be checked through if all your flights are booked together on one reservation with the same airline. However you should ask to be sure when you drop your bags off at the beginning of your journey.
If your bags are NOT going to be checked through to your final destination you will need to reclaim them and go completely through the check in process again. In that case just follow this video and then my next video about the check in process.

@@jacobs4985 the bus you see at the end of the video IS the rental car shuttle. It makes a stop at each of the airports rental car providers. Once I got on the rental shuttle bus and we left, it took about 2 minutes because it was like the first or second stop. (We used Blue car rental, it’s a local company and I highly recommend them)
