When we're young our bodies can take the abuse, it's only later in life that the damage comes ten times folded. Been vegan/vegetarian for a year, hair loss, joint pain, had no energy to even go out of my house. My knees were so weak it was scary. Muscle pain. Always irritated. Frequent migranes. The lion diet healed all that in just 2 weeks.@@Petunia-fl9lu

Here in Germany many people know her from her controversial interviews. I've had conversations about her with some people and nobody was convinced by the way she made her arguments. Watching her, I often thought "is she an anti vegan psy-op?"🤣But in the end I agree with you Dr. Baker, she does not seem like a happy person and it's sad that her life is like that. In the end I don't think that she really cares about the animals because if she would, she'd present her arguments in a way that makes the person she's talking to feel respected. Often the cliché is just true: Carnivores are calm and relaxed and vegans are nervous and noisy. I wish the carnivore calmness to everyone. And if on top of that, we can even improve the way animal farming is done by having more pasture feeding and therefore more grass-fed beef all around the globe, even better.

When I was in 9th grade, a history teacher played a vegan propaganda video about the poor practices of a certain slaughterhouse. He didn't even tell us that is what it was, though. I only made the connection later when I discovered that video made one of my classmates go vegan. Over the next few years of my friendship with that person I observed them become as abusive as the woman Shawn interviewed. Not just regarding vegan beliefs but in any of our interactions they became erratic, quick to anger, and demeaning. I didn't connect that change in personality to the diet until many years later.
Sorry for the long story. I find it repulsive that teachers could play propaganda based on their personal beliefs to highly influencable school kids, and it seems like today it's a more commonly accepted occurrence.

The social engineers are trying to take advantage of your emotional state. Just imagine what your emotional state would be in if you were post-apocalypse, living off-grid, with nothing to eat, starving for days, about to die from malnourishment. Imagine how your emotions would change from empathy/sympathy, to an entirely different mindset of top predator of the food chain in survival-mode. We rose to the top for a very good reason, which was pure hunting through tool-use. When in a jam, kill, cook, eat. It really is that easy for us, especially compared to foraging without proper knowledge of edible plants. It's not hard to use basic skills to trap, kill, skin, cook, and eat.

Shawn, you were very stoical facing that sustained uncontrolled behaviour. I too like to see the best in people, but ... a lot of the heavy duty activists are actually deeply traumatised. Their lives are filled exchanging deeply disturbing animal cruelty material (I've actually known a few). Coupled with malnourished brains, it produces these very volatile emotional and mental states and counter productive clashes. It's not clear what the solution is, but it does seem that the outer reaches of this, and other polarising divisions, is populated with deeply troubled individuals. Why such behaviour is condoned or given political clout is also quite unfathomable.

"Pets" are part of society... Service animals have jobs/work and contribute... Zoos are prisons for animals as are shelters both of which the prisoners committed with many im shelters getting the death penalty... ;-/

@@RaceLever that is metaphor. Human society is not. Do you have sex with animals also then? To be a part of society you need to have all the rights and obligations that stem from social contract. No being except for humans can partake in a human social contract. They would need to speak human language to understand all the complexities of human society and then do all the things and follow the rules that are required for a member of human society. Pets and service animals satisfy zero of those conditions. Both pets and service animals and food animals serve a purpose for humans. They are our toys or tools or food

    Tigers don't eat other tigers
    Humans don't eat other humans
Gazelle does not get scared and run away from other Gazelles.
Dogs react differently to other dogs then they do to humans.
Every creature on earth recognize other creatures of the same specie.
Animals don't see human as one of their own. Humans don't see other animals as one of their own.
That does not mean human should not (or simply don't) be merciful for the animals and understand we took a life to feed ourselves.
But vegans unfortunately do not understand its a necessity.

She destroyed Shawn, because he doesnt have the skills, he is not well versed in philosophy.
Watch the Jordan Peterson vs Sam Harris convo 1 and 2 and that gives you an idea of what level of sophistication and nuance is needed.
I would say that indeed its possible to try to make this debate short, you can be moral anti realist, non cognitivist and from there her points become a lot weaker. Basically generally speaking we dont eat other creatures if we can communicate well enough to have a fruitful relationship. If there is a possibility of this than its probably not a good idea to kill the other.
In short Shawn was probably right but he doesnt have the skills needed to put his thoughts into words.
